Most disappointing administrative staff you've ever came across. Employees are hired through…read moreconnections, not based on qualifications or experience. Keith Ball is still the awful dictator that he is, makes empty promises and falsely advocates for his students that need the most help. It should raise an eyebrow when the staff is mostly all white and the students that attend the school are mostly black and brown. And should raise even MORE of an eyebrow when you do your research and see how many Black educators and admin have either left the school or "moved" to a different position/building. Overall, do your research and make sure that you know where you're putting your child for their four years of high school education.

Not on the actual school. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Excellent Field and facilities! The stands were the basic metal bleacher (bring your own seat cushion!), there were two nice additions. The first was that there were backs on the bleachers! You don't have to sit slumped over. You can actually lean back against a backrest. The second (and nicest) surprise was that the stands were covered! No worries of sun or rain while watching the game. EXCELLENT!! The field was well maintained. Grounds crew was hustling throughout the game to keep it in good condition. Restrooms were clean and easily accessed. Snack bar was available on a Monday evening game and prices were very fair. Cheeseburger, and order of tasty fries and a bottle of water for under $5. Every person I met was friendly and a credit to MHS. Two thumbs up!! p.s. We won! :)

I know the place can become dirty from games on Friday night but sometimes my son goes to train on a Monday or Tuesday and it looks as if it was right after the game. Now I can't help it that much but maybe some staff to clean up would help. Overall good place to train and good school but just a bit dirty.

I went to this school, and I can safely say this place was awful. The teachers have no respect for…read morethe students, not even the quiet kids who patently do their work. The school lies to the kids and says stuff like "you must have at minimum 7 AP classes to graduate" when that is frankly bullshit, and multiple of the teachers ignore students with IEP's. A math teacher at this school who I will call "Mrs. Brunch" took me into the hallway every single day, sophomore year, to demand I apologize to her for no reason and scream I'm wasting class time. She sent my mother 4 emails when I had the hiccups in her class stating "i was purposly disruptive" and demanded I get my meds changed becuse "they were causing my hiccups." She also reported me to the office more times when I could count. The only reason I finished that class with an A is becuse she couldn't fail me without proof, and I did all my work. The chorus teacher verbally abuses kids to tears, the band directors make the band kids stand in the sun till they PASS OUT, and racism runs rampant among teachers and students. I can't tell you if the other schools in the area are better, but the one good thing I can say about this place is that there isn't much open and outward bullying, and most students respect one another. If you ask any student at this school, they will either say they hate this place or they will lie out of fear.

I saw brass knuckles more than a couple times. This is in the suburbs. This is in a community where families are above average in income. They also bring in kids from smaller communities. Kids can fight. My mom is still friends with the a teacher that was here when I went. She was nice. She left East Cobb because there was so much fighting. She had to pull snarling brats off of another all the time. She started to feel uncomfortable even though she'd been at the school for a long time. She likes where she is now much better. I did not like East Cobb. The gym teachers were all supreme dicks. One of them got hit in the face with a golf club once. He was a sassy dude and he one time gave me 3 detentions because I was running in the gym. If I let my kid go here it would only be because I'd want him/her to see how jacked people can be. I would worry about him/her all day while he/she was at school. I would probably prefer he/she went somewhere else. Behind the school there are fields and kudzu.

The education Mr Barrera provides to his students is comparable to the education I received in an International Private school, he brought history to life right from his world literature class and changed our minds in the most positive ways with open ended class discussions about worldly issues, allowing students from different backgrounds to share their thoughts and ideas in a safe space for us to create a better common understanding of each other. It is teachers like him in Georgia who will positively change and enlighten future generations of adults to come. He teaches his students patience, respect, compassion of others, and understanding by treating them with such. He saw every student as an individual with a future and will do whatever he can to help his students get there, rather it's help with your college essays, write a college recommendation letter, or just be the one person who believes in you when nobody else does.
