Throughout my case, my ex-husband was permitted to disregard provisions of our stipulation without consequences, and Kevin failed to hold him accountable for his repeated noncompliance. Instead of protecting my interests and those of my children, I was often left feeling disregarded, silenced, and was verbally abused. Kevin also intimidated me into believing that I had no choice but to leave the marital home with my children and that I had no profit from the sale of the marital home either. He lied to me! As a result, we were forced to vacate which ultimately led to homelessness and tremendous hardship for my children & I. Just so everyone understands, child support and spousal maintenance issues cannot be litigated for 3 years, or under significant circumstances, so it's important to make the right decision from the beginning during your divorce. And regarding spousal maintenance, I should've received 5 years, but Kevin said I was only entitled to 2 1/2 years. The consequences of poor representation can follow you for years. Anyone reading this should do their own research, including researching AI and other resources, before simply believing everything an attorney says. Kevin was unprofessional and stated he's not a trial litigator so he preferred to settle the case. He manipulated me under duress, causing me so much distress into a settlement under false pretenses, and NOTHING in my favor. He did not represent himself professionally in court and intimidated me into settling to avoid going to trial. My advice is simple: don't be afraid of trial. A trial gives you a voice. It allows you to present your evidence, tell your side of the story, and have a judge hear the facts. It isn't nearly as scary as some attorneys make it seem.

Misstatements, misinformation, omissions resulting from apparent collusion between attorneys…read more At the initial meeting Ms. Faulkner reviewed the major issues of my divorce she impressed me as qualified by taking the mostly financial issues of the case and delineating a cogent strategy. Unfortunately after contract signing a pattern of misstatements delays and omissions developed leading to my terminating the contract. Notable to this point; just prior to issuing her service contract she discovered/disclosed my spouse hired her colleague. She stated they collaborate on some cases; all issues I would characterize as errant to my interests occurred after this and were relegated to financially contentious matters. They included; overstating the value of jointly owned property by a near factor of three concurrent to opposing council offering it as the principal asset for settlement. Perhaps as part of the firms "collaborative process"; in Discovery despite noncooperation from my spouse and numerous written complaints from me, Ms. Faulkner delayed for months issuing a formal request for financial documents. The Request finally issued omitted items apparently rudimentary to asset division all of which Ms. Faulkner had designated as important to my case at the first meeting. Reviewing Ms. Faulkner's proposal for settlement it reflected the same omissions as her Disclosure Request I noted she also miss quoted a financial statement by me to her which if accepted was unfavorable to my claim on contentious property. Since the issue could be easily be checked from documents I had supplied her I recognized these weren't mistakes rather it's the apparent result of dubious loyalties and an assumption I would repeat the misplaced trust and lack of financial oversite that had occurred during the marriage. It may be relevant the prospective Client selection process; my Ex. is far more charming as well as attractive then I and tells a good yarn. Note: -Dispite my furnishing tapes/transcripts of most of my conferences along with associated legal documents & e-mails of/to Ms. Faulkner the BAR's response to my complaint was "no violations described". -Ms. Faulkner's Firm advertises a "collaborative" process in my experience its more like collusion - lawy*****.com & Martin***-******.com appear to be the same Attorney paid for service and won't accept my negative review of Ms. Faulkner.
