I have never had a good experience here. About 5-6 years ago I had a seizure and Dr. Digea blamed…read moreme for this happening and told me that it was my fault. I was 16 years old at the time so imagine how upset that had made me that I had to carry that. I avoided seeing her ever since and went to Dr. Calma (an excellent doctor and always made me feel very comfortable). Today I got a call from Sue (the nurse practitioner) about blood work that I had done in December (for reference it is now March) telling me that my lipid count was high and that my cholesterol was high and my vitamin D was low. She IMMEDIATELY started telling me that I need to change my diet and exercise more (I exercise 6 days a week and eat very healthy) and continued to tell me I should use MyFitnessPal in order to track what I was eating. I told her numerous times that I was not comfortable doing so as I did not want to be consumed by keep track of every little thing I ate, as being a 21-year-old female that could develop into an eating disorder. She continued to talk down to me and would not give me any recommendations as to what I should do. All I was told was that "I was eating too many animal products" and that I "need to stop eating eggs". The only recommendation that I received on what I could eat was to get "plant-based protein power". She was talking down to me the entire phone call, whereas eating is a sensitive topic for some individuals and she was throwing all of this at me and basically telling me that I need to exercise more. Overall I was very hurt and uncomfortable with this situation, and this is not the first bad encounter I have had at this office. Very rude and inconsiderate individuals and I would steer clear of this office as much as you can.

I myself went to Dr. Gigea for over 20+ years. My 14 year old sister and 10 year old brother have…read morebeen going to her practice since birth. I now have a 4 year old son who has been going to her since birth. Just recently I was told that they will continue to see my son but due to him having insurance through the state they won't vaccinate him. Therefore I have to take him to the village to be vaccinated. So come physical time, he has to see the doctor and then go elsewhere to get his shots. I was also told that should I have another baby and that baby have insurance through the state she will not accept the new baby. I understand state insurance has it's downfalls. But we are long time family patients. I feel as if I'm being discriminated against because of the insurance my son has. Going to the doctor should be easy and comforting. Due to this I no longer feel that way. It's not easy. It's making my life more difficult. It most definitely isn't comforting that other patients can be vaccinated by the office but I need to go to the village clinic to have my son vaccinated by strangers. It's ridiculous. I'm very u happy. And due to her new changes/policy she will be losing 4 patients. & 3 of the 4 do not have state insurance. It's private. But we stand as a family. Dr. Gigea used to be great I'm not sure what has changed over the past few years. I will no longer be recommending her to any of my friends or family.
