It was always perfect. It gets really busy in the evening and stuff runs out. I always had great service too. How I long for some of their golden potatoes. The chicken was always juicy too. On another day, we bought prepared foods to take back to our rental. Again, the vendor was incredibly helpful. This market gave me an opportunity to practice my French, something that can be difficult to do in Paris. Of note, I was the only one in my party who spoke French, and the others managed just fine. We visited several times during our week stay in the 18th arrondissement.

None of the restaurants were open when we came around 10:30 am on a Wednesday, so instead when to a bakery to pick up croissants and donut bites (beignets). Everything was so good, especially the beignets filled with rich milk chocolate (for 0,5€ only). We got some mandarin oranges from a nearby fruit vendor, and made an interesting brunch. There was plenty of seating at that time of day. The oranges were sweet and juicy..haven't found bad fruit in Paris yet.

MMmm so creamy & good! they apparently also offer cheese classes --Bierissime: specialty beer shop w/ a HUGE selection of bottled beer.. i wish i knew more about beer to see what types i should bring home for friends.. but im not a beer drinker so the only thing i recognized was a flavor of Lindemann's lambic that i haven't tried.. Faro!! they also have fresh fish & fruits here!

Even though it may seem charming to walk the streets of Paris with an umbrella, I prefer to spend cold rainy days indoors, so I've spent most of the Winters here hibernating in my heated home. We were seeking something to bring to a goûter, or the afternoon snack between lunch and dinner. Even though my three friends were all French natives, no one had ever been to this market, so we meandered and shopped the stalls as tourists:) Fresh vegetables for crudites, cheese from cows, sheep, and goats, and bread made with pumpkin seeds, nuts, and sesame. It wouldn't be a French market without wine, and local beef. If you don't want to cook, you can buy prepared food to warm up at home, or snacks to nibble on as you await dinner. The center area was full of bins of oysters, or you can opt for seafood, already cooked and ready to eat.Some of the stalls were closed on Saturday, like the one selling pastries, but you can always have fresh fruit for dessert :)

as someone used to CSAs, food coops and organic markets this is what keeps me going in paris…read more compared to most parisian markets, it's on the small side. however, it has a little bit of everything (fish, meet, dairy, veggies, pasta, fresh bread, sweaters... you name it). sadly it's only on saturday mornings. my favorite is treating myself to some raw milk, fresh from the cow less than 24hrs before. they tell me they sometimes have raw goat milk too but i haven't been lucky enough to get my hands on that yet... mostly a summer thing. basically, if you're looking for organic food and want to talk to some great farmers this is the market for you!
