Specialties
Located in the historic desert town of Marathon, Texas, our guided outdoor experiences take visitors into the rugged beauty of the Big Bend region. We offer small-group and private adventures for travelers who want to experience the remarkable landscapes, rich culture, diverse wildlife and plant life, and breathtaking night skies that make this region so unique.
Guided by a retired U.S. Marine with extensive field leadership experience and certified as a Texas Master Naturalist, our trips emphasize safety, exploration, and a deeper understanding of the natural environment. Guests can choose from one-day excursions or overnight primitive camping trips exploring the mountains, desert, and river landscapes of Big Bend National Park and surrounding communities, including Terlingua, Alpine, Marfa, the Davis Mountains, and Boquillas, Mexico.
Popular destinations include Santa Elena Canyon, the Chisos Mountains, and some of the park’s most spectacular desert viewpoints. Along the way, guests learn about the region’s geology, ecology, wildlife, and cultural history.
Stargazing can also be added to select tours in collaboration with a local astronomer.
History
Established in 2025.
This business was built on a lifelong connection to the Big Bend region that began generations ago. In the mid-1930s, my grandfather worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps, helping develop infrastructure and conservation projects that would later contribute to the creation of parks and protected lands across Texas.
Growing up, I spent years visiting this region—exploring its desert landscapes, mountains, rivers, and night skies. Over time, I developed a deep appreciation for the people, geology, flora, fauna, and natural beauty that make Big Bend unlike anywhere else.
After years of experience in leadership and public service, I decided to turn that passion into something meaningful—creating guided experiences that help others connect with this landscape the same way I did.
Today, our tours are designed not just to show you Big Bend, but to help you understand it—through its history, ecology, and stories—while creating an experience that is safe, engaging, and unforgettable.
Meet the Business Owner: Tom O.
Hello and welcome! My name is Tom, and I'm the owner and guide behind this adventure company.
My passion for this work comes from a lifelong connection to the Big Bend region. I grew up exploring this landscape and developed a deep respect for its history, wildlife, and rugged beauty. Over the years, that connection turned into a calling—to help others experience and understand this incredible place in a meaningful way.
I bring over a decade of experience in leadership and public service, including time in the U.S. Marine Corps and law enforcement, which shapes how I lead every tour—with a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and caring for the people I’m responsible for.
What I enjoy most is helping guests see beyond the surface—connecting them to the region's geology, culture, and stories while creating an experience that’s engaging, educational, and fun. Whether it’s your first time in Big Bend or you’ve been here before, my goal is to make it an experience you won’t forget.
