Mr. Ramirez and all of his instructors are patient, knowledgeable, and truly invested in each student's progress. The students support each other, and the instructors make every child feel seen and valued. My daughter looks forward to every class and has grown tremendously both physically and mentally since starting here 8 years ago. If you're looking for a martial arts school that builds self-defense skills, strong character, a positive mindset and most importantly, perseverance, I highly recommend this school.

To teach our children to better humans by teaching them self worth, control, independence, respect, values, self defense and so much more. My daughter worked hard and earned her black belt at 11 years old. Every instructor has the same goal, to make our children the best they can be. They work with your child's teacher to make sure they are doing the work at school and home as well as in martial arts, so our children become well rounded individuals . We love the instructors and recommend this school to anyone.

No teacher seemed to be able to handle him. The minute we entered this place - our lives have changed. The teacher Master Charles has done some true miracles to my son within less than a week! They truly put the discipline on a first place, and then base everything else on that. They also gave some chart for his teacher to fill out at school to cooperate. I barely recognize my own child. He became so polite, so well mannered and learns so much!!! We are also going to a summer camp they have. I don't worry anymore about teachers calling me out in the middle of a work day because my son is acting up. God bless this school!

I let them know he's on pull ups and it was fine. They got back to me promptly with emails and got him into a trial class within a couple days. We got there and one of owners Juliana greeted us. She was super nice and friendly, explained everything and got a practice gi for my son. The other owner came and met us as well and took my son into the practice area to meet the coaches. They all were very kind and friendly. He had no problems at all. I was worried he would be too young and wouldn't be able to understand. After the class I met with coach Chris and he reassured me he did well and it would be good for him. I met with Juliana again to go over the breakdown and fees and how things work. They have a great promo right now til June 22nd. After leaving I knew we picked the right gym for my son. Everyone was friendly and they were all great with kids. Definitely recommend

The Saldivar family are what I would consider pinnacles of our society. It's this fathers opinion…read morethey are one of the best places in SA to take your children or to train for yourself. I have great admiration for Mr & Mr's Saldivar and am very proud to say that our children went to their academy. I'm sure there are many different martial art academies or dojos around San Antonio to choose from but I would argue there are probably few that are comparable to Saldivar Martial Arts (SMA) when it comes to training in every aspect from martial arts to mind, body, and soul. The Saldivars are Christian so God is also a very important presence in their lives. Their faith is evident and as Christians ourselves having them speak into our children lives was all the better. We found out about SMA at our sons kindergarten school orientation as part of their after-school program (2014). Since both my wife and I had jobs and could not pick him up when school was over this seemed like a good option. Fast forward 5 years (2019)... one of the best decisions we ever made. For not only our oldest but for our second child as well. Both siblings attended SMA and we were blessed to see them grow and mature in every way. Their skills progressed as did their rank. There aren't very many 9 year olds who can say they earned a black belt but for our son, after many years of dedication and hard work and with the consideration of Mr. Saldivar a few weeks before his 10th birthday he had a black belt wrapped around his waist. For my wife & I... one of the proudest moments in our son's life. I almost tear up as write these words because I say again... we were blessed to have Mr. & Mrs. Saldivar in our lives. We grew very fond of not only them but of their instructors as well. I know there's a cliche about being "part of family" but here at SMA, it truly is a FAMILY. Our family and especially the kids made good friends that we will have a relationship with for a lifetime. It was in 2018 when we moved to a new home in another nearby town. During that time our son was in training to receive his black belt. It was a bit of a struggle but we continued to make the effort to attend classes. A lot of late nights and mileage but it was worth it. There was simply no other place we would go in order for him to get a black belt. The journey began at SMA and would end there no matter the inconvenience of living in another town. At this time (2020) the kids have decided to take on other activities (gymnastics & baseball). While we are not presently active we know that we would be welcomed back with open arms at any time. We love you Saldivar family! RAMCLAN
