Quick stop for a restroom break and to grab a cold drink on a road trip. Overall it was clean, well stocked and in an easy location along our route. The bathrooms were pretty clean and stocked and there was a lot of selection of food, drinks and snacks. The drinks we tried were priced relatively well for a gas station/ convenience store. My wife went in this morning for a breakfast sandwich and ordered one without cheese and he was extremely rude. she overheard him saying he needed to do a special order for someone sounding annoyed.all the sandwiches out had cheese not everyone can have cheese that is unacceptable to treat customer like that. read more

Great food, but they need more wraps (garlic and tomato basil) like the use to have. Their plain is too doughy and the spinach is too dry!

I highly agree with the first review. Always friendly and helpful service, and the food is delicious! I highly recommend the homemade toast - thick slices of bread with plenty of butter - and the hot turkey sandwich, which they don't have often. They say you get personal and friendly service in a small town. In our experience, that's not always true. We've had some pretty bizarre cases. But here at Maplefield's, we always get quick and efficient service. I had doubts about getting food from this gas station convenience store. I'm not a fast food fan and I detest getting a hotdog that's been rolling on an electric grill the whole day. But that's not what you'll find here. They have a fixed menu which includes the usual- burgers, Glazier hotdogs, Michigans, pizza, cold subs, etc. And they prepare most of your food as you order. (Burgers and fries are kept under the light-- and of course, I avoid ordering that at all costs). I go here primarily and especially for their varied lunch specials on weekdays. It changes every time so I like the element of surprise. For example, on one day, they'll have 1) crunchy chicken fingers on a cesar salad with garlic bread as a side for $4.99, 2) pizza burger with potato wedges for $3.99, and 3) ham and cheese in a spinach wrap with potato chips as side for $3.99. Then on the next day, it'll all be completely different. Their soups change daily, too. And all of them are so delicious that you'll be convinced it's homemade. The girls, Tina and Sylvia, are the sweetest! I have never seen them cross and they are just so efficient. They rarely make small talk so you don't wait for your order for a long time. We often make the trip from Ottawa to Vermont and a pit stop at Mapleleaf's is always a nice break. The bathrooms are very clean and include a clean change table - something I wish more establishments would include. The food is good and the coffee is fresh. I've never been tempted by the new Dunkin' Doughnuts down the street. read more

My name is Lee Gonzalez. I live in 73 Muzzey Rd. Malone, New York 12953. I have been in Malone, New York since 1999. I went to the University of Puerto Rico where I graduated in 1994. I got a minor in Chemical Engineering Technology in 1988, a minor in Computer Science in 1993 and a Major in industrial chemical Process Technolgy. So, you realize i am not an illiterate person. I worked as a Chemical Laboratory Technician for Dupont Agrichemicals in Manati, Puerto Rico from 1993 to 1996. I was in a temporary basis trohough a Temporary Agency named Kelly Services, Inc. I am a disable individual due to a car accident in 2000 while living in the state of Georgia for 3 years. Due to the trsaumatic brain injury I sustained in such accident I underwent brain surgery in March 26, 2004. So I'm totally disable. Plus I have an inmune system condition . I have my hands extremely full with so many health issues. So I just like to make friends everywhere I go and live my life friendly to others no matter if they are white, black, hispanic or any race, color, nationality, etc. I have a lot of friends. I can speak and write English fluently as a second language and Spanish as well. I learned English in school in Puerto Rico. The reason I am directing this letter to you is the following issue: I am a customer of Mapplefield since I moved to live up here from Georgia after my surgery. So, I am a regular customer of Maplefield for almost 11 years. The reason I like Maplefield is because they have a good coffee, the store is conveniently located close to my home, and I usually buy gas regularly ther,e too. I have some hispanic friends and we use to meet at Maplefield to have some coffee, donuts or use our laptops, since we can get some wireless signal that is picked up from the area. About a month ago, some employee from the Malone store Mapplefield branch, named Ms.Debbie made to me some derogatory and racial terms because my hispanic accent telling me to "go home".This happened several times everytime I was going there to share with my friends.I did not take it seriously or personal at first since I thought she was just joking. I took it as a joke and I did not pay much attention. But, later on, the situation was getting worse.Telling me to go home every time I was going there. Then I realized that it was not just a simple joke. I realized that it was more than that. Telling me to "Go home" just for been hispanic, i think it has some racial issues, I think. Unless she was having some personal issues or problems at her home. But that does not mean that I will take it on anyone else around you unrelated to your problems. At some point I was inside the Maplefield convenient store, waiting on line, just to pay for the gas I pumped, and; because of my skin color (I am light brown skinned) since I am puertorrican, she took care of everyone around me and, directly or indirectly, unaware, aware, Im not sure, ignored me as I was not there or I was invisible; she took care of all the customers around and pretended i was not there waiting on line, that I was invisible, treating me worse than an animal or a bug. She called me names and I have witnesses that were present when that happened. My witnesses names are Ms.Davonna Sharrow, who is a mother of 4 kids and who is native (Mohawk) who is been treated bad by the same employee, Ms. Debbie, my hispanic friend, Ms. Annabel Mieses who is the mother of 2 girls and who saw the attitude of your employee Ms. Debbie toward me, and there was another whose name is Maria Byrnes and she saw and witnessed the bad attitude of Ms.Debbie. She was so rude that made all my friends there and myself feel horrible, embarrassed and uncomfortable about it because the store was pack of customers. I wrote a letter on May 6, 2010 addessed to the manager who's name is Ms. Sylvia Hutchkins but she ignored my concerns in a very unpolite, insensitive manner She grabbed me by the arm very rough, with unpleaseant attitude. I have a copy of the letter I gave the manager Ms. Sylvia Hutchkins in wich I explained to her the rude attitude of her employee Ms. Debbie. She did not do anythig to help me, neither spoke and call her attention for having such a attitude to customers. I am hispanic but I am a customer too. I used to buy gas for my car and coffee at Maplefield all the time. I do not buy there anymore since the incident with Ms. Debbie and the poor judgment of the actual manager Ms. Sylvia Hutchkins.I can send you fax or via regular mail, copies of all my medical issues to aware you of the seriousnes of this traumatic and unnecesary situation that should never ever happened. At some point i over reacted since I was very upset with the bad treatment I was recieving from Ms. Debbie and I told her she was extremely rude.
