My son has attended Mantra Montessori since February 2022! We have loved being a part of the Mantra family! He has now graduated out of the school and is ready for his next chapter! Best school for kids to learn various aspects and have fun.

We sent our 4 years 3-month-old son to Mantra Montessori for 10 months. He was upset for 2 weeks. The first time he was not listening to his teachers. Even he was not fully potty trained. These amazing teachers helped my son to learn it and grow very well. He is listening to the elders now. One day, he cried at the night and wanted to see his teachers and friends. We took him to the school and showed him the school was closed. I had a plan to send my little son to Mantra Montessori also but before that we are changing this state for my study purpose. He loves his school, teachers, and friends. They celebrated many occasions and festivals. We celebrated my son's 4th birthday there. The wonderful teachers helped us to make it memorable for a lifetime. The graduation party makes him more confident. Ms. Stephanie is very kind, organized and fun-loving human. She is very caring for every kid. He loves his class teacher, Ms. Zeenat. She helped him in every way. Other teachers are also wonderful and knowledgeable. We are very sad to leave his place now. Our boys started at this school a year ago when they first opened after not handling public preschool well (still crying when I left them after a year at their other school). The first day at Mantra and not a single peep when I left, it was like a night and day change, they were so much more comfortable. At first there were a few kinks you could tell the school and staff were trying to work out, lots of teacher changes but soon things settled down (and our boys didn't seem to notice). I will say that I absolutely love the teachers. They are all so caring and loving to our children and I feel they're in such good hands when I drop them off every day. Not only have our twins progressed leaps and bounds in the speech delay they've struggled with, they've learned so much in this past year. Aside from the general things like counting and learning to write, they've picked up such good habits at home like clearing the table when they're done eating, helping me fold clothes (and actually folding them) and be willing to take part in helping get whatever task done. We're moving soon and will be making a bit longer of a drive out of the way to continue to send the boys here, they've really thrived in this environment thanks to the many opportunities presented to learn in different ways and the genuine and loving teachers. read more

My son has been going to Mantra Montessori for about three years now and I could not have chosen a better place for him. He has enjoyed his time here, made new friends and learnt a lot in the process. I have seen amazing progress in my son. The teachers customize his learning and offer him with tons of challenges for his growth. As a result, he started reading and learnt his multiplication facts at just four years' old. I attribute this to the challenging Montessori tasks throughout the classroom too. Ms.Whitaker cares for her students and their well being and it shows in all she does. She is very particular about keeping a clean and sanitary environment. The testament to this is that my kid has not taken a single sick day this year. To keep the kids stimulated, there are many new books from the library each month. They celebrate different seasons with new decorations in the classroom and different artwork. They have a good parent community and it is warming to see the same set parents' year over year. This is my last year with Mantra Montessori. Mantra is my son's first school and he's been here for over 2 years now. He truly enjoys going to school everyday. I still remember those initial days he would cry all day and would refuse to mingle with other kids. The teachers took such great care and made him comfortable that he looks forward to go to school everyday. I moved my daughter from KinderCare Sunnyvale to Mantra Montessori a year ago and it was the best decision I made. Ms. Stephanie is a wonderful director alongside her teachers Ms. Ambika, Rani, Sandhya, Anu, and Robina. All of the teachers are very welcoming and with the very few new ones that come along and do not fit in have been dismissed. My daughter loves to color and play. Summer camp is especially fun for her as there is a new theme each week. One recommendation that I have for the school is that there are many early dismissals and closed days more than public schools. This is an inconvenience. Besides my recommendation, I am glad that I chose this school for my daughter as I can see her blossom. Now she actually likes going to school. My 3 year old son went to Mantra Montessori for 6 months during the global pandemic, and it was such a treasure for him. Miss Stephanie and Miss Shilpa are so welcoming, understanding and patient with the kids and you can tell they really care about each one of them. My son has been going to Mantra Montessori since August 2014, when he turned 2, and I have been very happy with the experience. They take children from 2 - 5 years of age and are open from 7am - 6pm. They have 3 classrooms, one for 2-year-olds, one for 3-year-olds, and one for 4 and up, and a good size back yard where they have play structures, sand box, vegetable planter boxes and many outdoor activity toys. ** School Size: Unlike some large commercial preschools, where there are 30-40 children with 4-5 teachers in one age group, Mantra Montessori's classes are smaller with 5-10 children per age group. Because of smaller class sizes, the teachers are able to give personalized attention to each child. ** Communication: Mantra Montessori is excellent at providing feedback to parents. I am always well informed with what my son is working on at school, what he excels at, and what he is improving on. My son has been going to Mantra Montessori for almost 3 years now and he loves his school, teachers and all friends he got here. We chose Mantra because their program is a good mix of learning, arts, musical and play time, unlike other pre-schools in the area who emphasize mostly on academics. They have arts and crafts time and kids get to bring home what they made. My son is excited to show us whatever he makes. Teachers are very friendly, helping and motivating. Teacher to student ratio is higher so kids gets personal attention. You get regular feedback from teachers and they also encourage to discuss and work with teachers on things to improve - be it academic or social. They publish holiday and events calendar beginning of school year, so you are well informed about the holidays and events. There are lot of parent participation events, so you get to connect with other parents. Summer camp has different theme for each week and my son learned a lot about sea creatures, dinosaurs, rain forest, transportation etc. and is always excited to learn more about these. All credits to Mantra, the way they have made learning of these topics fun for kids. Mantra Montessori is a great school. my son grew a lot in this 3 years and so we are looking forward to sending his younger brother here as well. Mantra Montessori was not the right place for our son. In my opinion it does not follow the Montessori philosophy and is unsuitable for energetic, imaginative and confident children. There were several reasons we withdrew of our son, I only regret we did not do it sooner. We enrolled our son at its opening 9 months ago. At first he seemed happy but very soon there was a revolving door of new teachers (temporary or hired/fired or resigned) and his behavior became more challenging, testing each new teacher, playing too roughly for some of the children and clearly exhibiting frustration and boredom. At home we were doing everything we could to curb this behavior (which is certainly not out of the ordinary for a 3 year old boy). It appears the director is the disciplinarian, not the teachers, and her methods of dealing with this type of behavior were limited to isolating our son, sticking him on a time out chair, lecturing him about how he "must OBEY" (a phrase that I've never seen in any Montessori material) and more frequently sending him home. A new phrase he brought home was "shame on you" - certainly nothing we have ever uttered. Other disciplinary methods were recommended to us that would not be out of place in the 1950s, are unethical in my opinion, and are in no way related to the Montessori method. I don't expect schools to address my child's behavior for me but I do expect preschool teachers to have the skills, knowledge and empathy required to be able to manage it and help the child and parents. This is not the case at Mantra. It soon became apparent that our son had been labelled and all incidents were deemed his fault, we never got to hear the full story and there was certainly no attempt to work with our family, as stated on their website. I acknowledge his behavior is challenging, as are many normal 3 year olds, but I believe he was victimized. Funnily enough the other children loved him despite his often rough play or misdirected reactions. The director seems to want very tight control over everything and strikes me as someone who is used to being "obeyed" without question. The teachers appear intimidated by her and we witnessed a teacher on the receiving end of the director's wrath during the Christmas party. The outside space is nice, however if there is dew on the grass or it's slightly cold the children are not allowed outside - I asked why and was told that the floor would get dirty, it was too much work to change clothes if the kids got wet and they would catch cold (I can't believe anyone, let alone a supposedly educated teacher, still thinks you can get sick from being outside - a cold is a VIRUS and they are more likely to spread it by spending time in the classroom, which is overheated). I believe children should be outside as much as possible, there are no excuses in this climate and I think this is one cause of my son's frustration. The usual Montessori materials are around the school but whenever I visited the children looked bored and lacked energy. Apart from when the children are in the music class there doesn't seem to be much joy or fun in the school. The lack of professionalism in this school is breathtaking. We are very disappointed with the way our family was treated at this school and feel let down after we supported their shaky start and tried hard to make it work. We enrolled our 3 year old with Mantra last year! Moving from Singapore it was a great cultural change for all of us as a family. Ms. Stephanie & the entire teacher's team made the transition smooth and lovely. We felt an immediate connect with each teacher. The summer camp of Mantra is exceptional with lots of interactive and exciting learning opportunities for the little ones. The teachers are high on empathy and understanding. Mantra Montessori is the school for your child if you want a loving and intellectually stimulating environment both at the same time. I am so glad my 3.5 year old son is attending Mantra. He is thriving and it's such a pleasure to see him grow not only academically but also emotionally and socially. They are very good with teaching social graces and also help with potty training. Ms. Stephanie and all the teachers there have successfully created a warm atmosphere, one that is very conducive for learning. Another feather in their cap is the Summer Camp. Our daughter started at Mantra 2.5 years ago & I must really say, that we were sad to leave. The teachers here including, Ms.Whitaker are the most caring, understanding & loving teachers anyone could hope for & helped our overactive child calm down and focus :-) It was what we needed and for the staff and teachers my rating is 5-STARS***** They address any concerns you may have right away. Ms.Whittaker, was also very accommodating with changes to our schedules. My only reason for an overall 4-star rather than 5-star rating is that their academic program could be a little bit more structured from the beginning. When I brought this up last year, Ms.Robina worked really hard to help our child go from not knowing any alphabets to now being able to identifying alphabets & counting- hats off to her!! Ms. Rani has such a calming effect on the children & taught our child how to meditate. When we decided we had to change preschools, our daughter was sad to leave & during her last week, hugged her teachers many many times! The teachers were so kind & loving and gave her the best heart-warming send-off!! We still miss the warmth & love from this school which is very hard to find at larger 'standardized' programs/ schools. So though it may not have the bells & whistles or frills that larger schools can provide, they definitely have a good team that grows each year with feedback from parents. After a terrible experience at another nearby school, we decided to go with Mantra Montessori. I believe that was a great decision for my 3 year old. He was so scared of going to school because the drop off process at the old school was so mishandled. He would cry the entire time. But at Mantra Montessori, even when we had gone to see the school and also the first day when I dropped him off, the atmosphere was so positive and my son felt very comfortable right away. he did not want to come back home starting the first day itself. I believe the school has the right guidance under the expertise of Ms. Stephanie Whitaker, and her experience adds immense value to the learning of the children at this school. at the old school he would only cry, didn't go pee, didn't eat any snack all 3 days he was there (after which I pulled him out, I couldn't take it anymore). But here at Mantra Montessori, the moment Ms.Whitaker held his hand at drop-off, I believe he felt he was home again. She got him to pee, and eat snack the first day itself and no crying. Her approach to kids is phenomenal. The teachers are all great, and I have nothing but good things to say about Ms. Sandhya and Ms. Sochi. Way to go !!! read more
