I brought my mom here after waiting almost 2 hours at the ER. I know that's typical at a hospital,…read morebut nobody was going anywhere! They were super busy. Totally forgot about the new urgent care . We leave the ER and come here... mind you, my mom DOES NOT go to docs, hospitals, etc unless absolutely necessary. We got in immediately and the 2 Nurse Practitioners were phenomenal. Immediately gave her what she needed. I have not been this impressed with ANYONE in the medical field in a very long time (except for nurses, the always rock!). I would absolutely recommend this place to the entire world! Thanks so much for taking care of my mama

Today's visit started out great. They saved my spot and when it was my turn, they got me into a…read moreroom right away. An EMT came in to check the concern I had about my right shin. His comments gave me confidence that my concern was minimal. He said one of the providers would come in to confirm his thoughts. Fifty minutes went by and I could hear one loud voice and others laughing. This went on until it became clear that no one was getting close to coming in check me out, so I chose to leave. I was greeted after a few steps by the person who was obviously the doctor and leader of the "party" outside my door. He asked if I was leaving. I said I've waiting an hour with no action, so I was going to leave. He told me 'there are other patients, too'. He wasn't taking care of them either. He was rude and condescending and I couldn't leave fast enough. I have counted on this location many times before with much better treatment. Do Better.

Like most people, I'm not a big fan of hospitals. The only experiences i've had involve cancer and…read morepeople not leaving them. So, I was a little worried to hear some of the comments about St. A, the hospital where I'd be undergoing gastric banding surgery. "It's old, it's falling apart, it's dark and creepy and people try and push their religion on you." I'm happy to report back that all, except the last, are untrue. As cliched as it may be, the people are really the lifeblood of this place. From the first blood test, everyone was fantastic. Cheerful without being syrupy. But, more important than demeanor, they worked fast. I had to go in for a day of tests and they zipped me from department to department, I never sat and waited for than a few minutes. The staff in the NewStart wing was really friendly and human. They were jokey and some even had the balls to tell them they hated NYC - I'm talking to you Dr. Shah the anesthesiologist! After the surgery, the nursing staff was great - prompt, friendly and quick with the pain meds. There was one sweet old lady that I wanted to punch in her liver-spotted face. After surgery, Betty came walking into my room and asked if I was Christian. I said no and her immediate response was "So, you don't believe in God?" No Betty, i'm a heathen. Christianity is obviously the only option, right Betty? As if the picture of the new pope in the lobby wasn't enough to make you turn to Rock & Roll. No matter how prepared you are, it's always a little scary to go in for surgery. But everyone, except Betty, kept me at ease and I felt great the whole way through.

This place is terrible. Avoid it if you can. The employees are slow, habitually rude, and…read moreuncooperative. Their sign in the front has bullet holes and graffiti on it - if that gives you any indication of how it is inside. If that's what you see on the outside, just think of what level of care they provide where no one can see.
