Trying to be fair and honest. First the good, location, location, location! You can't have a better location. Easy walk to the Central Amsterdam train station and lots of restaurants. Short walk to the Red Light District, boat canal rides, and museums. The staff was also very friendly and beyond helpful with parking recommendations. The bad. No parking on site and very expensive. If able, bring the train into town. Stairs are narrow and steep. No visible elevator. Rooms are VERY small. This is nothing more and nothing less than two beds pushed together, a small tv, and small bathroom. It does have a hair dryer and a small dressed. If you want ZERO hotel amenities, and just focused on location, this is your place. Free coffee and tea on the lobby 24/7 but no breakfast or meals on site. No food allowed in rooms either. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Found bed bugs my first night here, left in the night with no where to go, now I am being refused my refund. The man working the front desk gave us horrible service. They promised they would give us our money back and are now ghosting us. read more
I stayed here once on one of my visits to Amsterdam. There are only two positives about this place. One is the location. It is located right in the middle of the city within walking distance of Amsterdam Central station. The second is that it is very low price. It is cheaper than all the other hotels on this street. There is a reason for that though. This is more of a hostel than a hotel. As soon as you go up the stairs, you can tell. The place is pretty old with tiny rooms and the decor and everything looks like it is from the 1990s. The bathrooms are shared as well, with one bathroom for the whole floor. You should only stay here if you are visiting with friends who don't mind roughing it. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE...TOTAL NIGHTMARE! Long story short -- they canceled my reservation the day I was supposed to arrive because I didn't tell them the exact time I would be arriving! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Your credit card saves the reservation...you don't just give away someone's room because you can. They left me stranded away from home with my son as it was getting dark out. The man on the phone was extremely RUDE, DISMISSIVE AND ARROGANT! I have confirmations from them and everything and they didn't care. WARNING: UNLESS YOU WANT TO SHOW UP TO A HOTEL TO FIND THAT THEY GAVE YOUR ROOM AWAY AND YOU HAVE TO SCRAMBLE TO FIND SOMETHING ELSE...IT'S NOT WORTH THE AGGRAVATION. Take your business elsewhere! read more

The most putrid most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. Stain covered walls, metal bed frames, stained mattresses, laundry left all over lobby, staff are extremely rude. The black dolphin prison in Russia seems more accommodating. read more

We chose this hotel because it was conveniently located near the Amsterdam Centraal Train Station and street next to the Red Light District, and it stated a multilingual staff. We just needed a place to lay our head for the night. It is hard to spot, because the sign isn't very obvious, but just look for landmarks on googlemaps. But, aside from the location and the English speaking staff, we were not satisfied with our stay for what we paid compared to the conditions we slept in. The place is very run down, it is more like a hostel. It does provide a bath towel, and linens on the bed, but the cleanliness of the hotel and room itself is just below standard. The hallway/stairs were not clean/vacuumed, and it was messy with laundry bags just laying around in the front. There was construction workers already pounding outside our window at 6am!! We chose the private twin bed, with shared bathroom. The room itself is tiny. Two twin beds in a small space, we literally only had a small walkway between us and the room door to open. There was a sink inside the room, which was nice for hygiene, as well as a mirror, a small stool, and trashcan. The wall was slanted, with a tiny window and curtain. There were smashed bugs and dirty marks all over the walls. The floors were not kept. The shared bathroom, was for the entire floor. A men's and a women's toilet, as well as a shower. Obviously, the men can use the women's stall if they wanted, thus both bathrooms were not very clean, with water running on the tiles from the toilet in one of them. There is wifi, but it is only in the lobby. Also, there is breakfast at the restaurant next door, but when we popped in, it is the basic bread, cereal, and coffee type stuff. We would not recommend this hotel/hostel to anyone, especially families or couples of romance, unless they truly like to rough it, and ultimately just need a place to lay their head for the night before they head off to the train station the next day. To be fair, we stayed at this location a few years ago. A lot could have changed or improved, I just happened to find my unfinished draft in my yelp review folder. read more

Extremely friendly staff who are there to help. Was in and out quite often and even after I checked out, they kept my bags safe while I explored before leaving. Obviously the room is small, but compared with others, for this price you won't find something in such a prime location. Paid 220euro for 2 nights. Booked about a week in advance. Lady front desk was up and down the stairs and running around, obviously hard workers. If you're looking for a place to crash, this is it. (Noted: we stayed in 8204 and apparently it had "just been remodeled" so I'm not sure what the others look like. Bathroom for 'lobby' is a little janky, and the door slams entering the rooms on the 2nd floor (near 06&08 I think) but besides that, was legit. Breakfast was cereal, bread, ham, salami, and cheese. Oj and coffee. Kinda limited, but enough to start the day. read more

This was a bad experience. Really two starts but I will give them one extra star because the room was decent, however it was incredibly tiny - tiny to the point that you couldn't really navigate the room without climbing on a bed. But it was pretty clean and relatively decent - we had a rear facing room which was nice and quiet. Like other reviews point out - the stairs are really steep and challenging. Also - you don't get a remote for the TB without a 5€ cash deposit. The air conditioning worked OK (but not great). The shower was nice. But the bad experience was with the people who work the front desk. Check in when horribly wrong and they ended up charging us three separate times for the room. Neither the man who was there nor the other man working the next morning seemed to care, and they just gave me a business card and said "email the management". Ultimately my cards were charged and refunded three times, which of course each transaction caused an international transaction fee. The desk workers were terrible and not concerned at all. It wasn't until check-out that someone seemed to care, a lady finally helped us get things straightened out - all in all a very stressful stay. read more
