I started writing a diatribe about this place, but I'll keep it simple (well, as best as possible and still get my point across) #gosomewhereelese : 8PM on 9/8/19: 1 - Greeting: 3/5 - Being gracious because there were 10 people in the place and was seated quickly. HOWEVER, the Sunday Night Football game had recently started and all that was on every TV was tennis. There were like 8 TV's and I asked about football (OPENING WEEK) so they changed one obscure monitor. I adjusted my seating situation so I could catch a glimpse... 2 - Service: 2/5 - The receipt says Jose' was my server but I do not know for sure as he never offered it up and I never inquired. Had to FLAG him down SEVERAL times. Cannot eat without the accouterments required to make a "meal" eatable like salsa. Oh, that reminds me... 3 - Food: 0/5 - Ordered the Beef Taco "DINNER". Gross, greasy and bland. Kind of an oxymoron being greasy and flavorless. Needed salt, pepper, salsa and... FLAVOR besides grease. In all honesty, I should have gone on either side of the street, like Jack-in-the-Box or more UPSCALE and BETTER to Taco Joint. BTY, even though the menu states "sauces" are available for a DINNER plate, my server told me it would be extra as the sauces are only for the enchiladas. So, albeit and I ATE A THIRD OF MY FOOD. Mostly the lettuce, tomato and grated cheese and some of the "BEEF" after I squeezed the grease out of it. Basically, a MINI TACO SALAD for $9... Re-fried beans are bland and needed salt, the rice is decent and again the ground beef tacos were greasy and flavorless... Can't believe anything needed salt. WOW! 4 - Salsa: 2/5 - Mediocre at best. I added salt and pepper and just doesn't have a "signature" flavor. Again, bland... 5 - House Margarita: 1/5 - Stupid sugar induced lime-water for $8... JOKE. 6 - Closing out: 2/5 - Server was AWOL for quite a while but he may not have thought I'd be done so fast because I barely ate any of the NASTY, GREASY "food". 7 - Staff in General: 0/5 - 3 guys we just hanging at the host area and seemed like they were in their own house. I asked one for some salsa and he just laughed. Now, I have to say my server came by shortly after but I'm not sure if was coincidence or not. Still, this is a JOB and you are representing the owner. I'd call their antics immature and that this is a mismanaged restaurant. 8 - BOTTOM LINE: 1/5 because I can't give less. There are TOO many places to get a good "Tex-Mex" meal with less cost, better service and better margaritas where the food has FLAVOR. Overpriced, underwhelming and just bad food. BYE Manny, I've tried too many times (6 including different locations as well) and now finally, I'm fed up! read more

It was okay. Service for early dinner was lacking. I saw a lot of wait staff running around but it took a while to get drink refills. Had the taquitos, which were crispy (as I like them) but the brisket was tough and looked days old. Chips and salsa were average. Their sweet tea was way too sweet, someone is not taste-testing in the kitchen. Nothing fancy about this place, great for the shorts and flip flops crowd. We wanted a break from our usual Tex Mex places and will be happy to go back to those other places. read more

I have been coming to this location since they opened. It's always been fantastic especially when Paoula is behind the bar. However there is a new bartender who does not greet guests, does not clean the bar top, does not refill drinks... For somebody who's been in the service industry for 40 years, I just expect a level of kindness. Not just service, but kindness. read more

I was impressed with the service and the atmosphere. Ordered a top shelf margarita to get started. The spinach Quesadilla was AMAZING!!!! Make sure to ask for the hot salsa from your server. Ordered the chipotle shrimp and that was also AMAZING!!! Pleasantly surprised that my food was so good. Good crowd as I arrived at 7PM and only waited 10 minutes. My FAVORITE neighborhood Tex Mex spot. And then best skinny frozen margarita out there. We eat here at least once a week-it's a great place to bring your kids as my toddler is entertained for at least an hour on the patio while we enjoy. read more

We were here on Tuesday night at 6:15pm for my mom's Birthday! It was unseasonably warm that day so we sat outside on the super cute patio! We ordered the tableside guacamole (my moms favorite) to start but we were deeply saddened that it wasn't "tableside" at all. Another family had ordered one as well so instead they made it in the center of the patio where no one could see. My 6 year old niece was especially looking forward to watching so that was a bummer. It took forever for us to place our food order, get water refills etc. We felt more like a burden than guests. I ordered two dinners from Manny's yesterday for take-out. The food was ready when we arrived to pick it up and the people were friendly. There problem started when we got home and began to eat. The quest was thin and lumpy and tasted terrible it was inedible. The enchiladas had very little taste and I could not bring myself to finish them even though I was extremely hungry. So being back in TX I was looking forward to eating Mexican food again. I picked Manny's mostly because they delivered, but they had a standard and predictable menu. I ordered guacamole, chicken tortilla soup and a chimichanga. The guacamole was flavorless. There were a few pieces of tomato and onion and was bland. The best part of the meal was the chicken tortilla soup. Big chunks of chick and soup that had great flavor. The chimichanga was a huge disappointment. Most anything fried is good, but this was not. It was fried and smothered with what looked to be hot salsa. I am no expert on Mexican food but isn't ranchero sauce something different that salsa? I would not recommend that you waste your money on their food. read more

My husband went into get a to go order. They messed up my meal (gave me two cheese enchiladas instead of a cheese and chicken that the Marisa plate comes with). The guy said he would just give us some sour cream sauce to put on one! Umm, how does that make it into a chicken enchilada? Then he told my husband he could make him a new chicken enchilada ala carte, but we'd have to pay extra for it. After arguing the point, the guy agreed to give him the chicken enchilada at no extra cost. Then, he gets home with the order. We also ordered the the cheese enchilada with no onions and they were loaded with them. The queso loco was bland and clumpy. The chicken enchilada was doused in so much chili powder that you couldn't even taste the sour cream sauce. Even the salsa was subpar. The only good thing was the tiny side of guacamole that came with the cheese dip. When I called back the restaurant to let them know about the trouble we had, the initial response was "ok?". What does that mean? Are you asking me if it is ok? The answer is no! Are you asking me "ok, how would you like to resolve this?". The answer should be pretty obvious! First, apologize for the incompetence and inconvenience. Next, offer to replace my meal or give back my money. Do not offer me a free replacement meal for "next time". Why would I return after being treated this way when the food wasn't even that great? Top this off by the fact that we tipped well on a to-go order and you didn't have to serve us, clean a table, bring refills, do our dishes, etc! Will not be going back! 2 month follow up! The manager wrote back expressing how sorry she was for our experience and asked me to email her detailed info (I guess above was not detailed?). But I obliged, and never received a response. So I followed back up and she said she never received my email. So I resent it to her. Still no response! read more

This was our first visit. The food was delicious and they offer a great variety of options. I look forward to giving them another try. My complaint would be with our waitress, Miriam V. She was not friendly nor personable. She needs to check on her customers more and ask if anything is needed. She got a drink order wrong because she wasn't paying attention. Hidden gem in the northeast corner of Mockingbird and Abrams. Amazing service-bar or table, phenomenal skinny margs, brisket tacos (and many other items) can't be beat, and best of all...you always feel like you are family. Such a welcoming environment! read more

Always great service and the best margs I've had in Dallas! The spinach quesadillas are large enough to fill you up and are very well done. My only critique is that the enchiladas don't seem to have enough sauce (but I prefer to drown mine in sauce). Great salsa, a bit of spice and medium consistency. My recommendation try the Mole. Chicken breast with a chocolate spicy sauce. Sounds crazy but it's actually a traditional Mexican dish that these guys do well. Just wish they would give you a lot of sauce. Not on the Menu is Micheladas another Mexican staple. Pretty much it's a tomato hot sauce mix with a lot of sodium that you add with your choice of beer. Sounds a lot better than it sounds. Think of it like a bloody marry but beer. There's other restaurants that make an amazing Michelada but these guys are not the worst. In all it was ok not amazing. I am so surprised of all the bad reviews! We've had some hiccups with customer service, but none was a big deal. Overall, we've had good service with lots of refills of water and salsa. The sunset sauce and fajitas are great! Such a delicious spicy queso sauce. We enjoyed our quac with chips and salsa. My favorite thing is the Noestro Rib-Eye-Steak. It is such an incredibly healthy and flavorful dish with loads of vegetables. We love going here just for that! Super easy, family friendly place. We like having you guys in Lakewood! read more

I was a little surprised to see all of the bad reviews on Manny's. I think the patio area on this Manny's is really cool, especially when the weather is nice. The food is identical to the food in Manny's Uptown, in my experience. It is more traditional Tex Mex than some of the more chic Dallas Mexican food restaurants, but if that's what you're looking for, you won't be disappointed. The inside can be a little crowded and on popular nights there is sometimes a wait, but other than that, I love this place. If you live in the area, I would say definitely at least give it a shot. I have never been disappointed in the food, service, nor ambience. read more

Everyone has been so excited that Manny's was coming to Lakewood! And now it's here! We went last night and it was just fine. They have really spiffed up the defunct Rex's Seafood location. It's all kinds of Tex-Mex-tacular inside and they made the patio tolerable. The food is the same as the other locations. Solid enchiladas, cheese tacos and the rest of the standards. The only thing I have exception with is the prices. They are a little on the steep side for the offerings. They are less than Meso Maya across the street with a more casual atmosphere, but more than say--Ojedas, Herraras, El Fenix, Chuy's etc. They are still working the kinks out on service. It was super slow. But I'm sure that will get better after a few weeks. read more

I went there around 5 pm and i was attended immediately. The inside was a very cheerful environment & colors were extremely vivid. Our waiter, Charlie, was really nice & took care of us quite well. We ordered the JR fajitas & the shrimp was really delicious. Our server brought it out hot but was too sizzling. He offered to hold on to the plate while it cooled down which was really helpful. For dessert, we got the Churros which came with ice cream topped with a cherry. I really enjoyed the service & food. Lakewood needed a family place to go after church and relax. First time here with my husband. We came in around 6:30 and had about a 15 minute wait. When we got seated the waiter seemed very rushed to get our order and it was kind of annoying. I saw other waiters interacting with their customers and having fun but we got a dud. He was efficient but no personality which made our first time kind of lame. The salsa has a kick to it and the chips are very good. Food was standard Tex mex but they do have a lot of options which is always good. Would come again but hoping we get someone else. I think the most frustrating aspect of my delivery experience is the fact that during the pandemic situation, in which dining rooms are closed, restaurants should be improving their food quality for delivery. I ordered the steak fajitas, and while "OK," they just were not good. The steak was fatty, which led to several inedible bites. I realize it is most likely skirt steak, but I shouldn't have to discard 1/3 of the meat. The flavor was ok, not great, and certainly not memorable. As a service industry worker I feel their frustration with their limitations to making a profit during this time. However, it is also a time to prove to your customers that your food is worth paying the Uber Eats fee and superior to the competition. I will say the salsa and queso were very good and I will certainly visit to enjoy those with a margarita when the dining room reopens. read more

She was efficient and friendly. The manager also came over to apologize about the salmon, but I would have comped it as it was finally served when the rest of us were eating dessert. This evening my friend and I decided to go eat here after getting our nails done across the street. In the main dining room there were roaches crawling up the walls. After two full booths of people fled, and the flying roaches began to come toward our booth, sitting there with plates full of food, I asked the three young waiters where their Manager was? They pointed to the back of the restaurant, where I walked to, he was sitting there with his leg crossed all relaxed talking to two other men. I asked him if he knew about the roaches. Long story short, Alex, the Manager, went ballastic and told my friend that "she disrespected me by coming to the back of the restaurant and interrupted my conversation." Needless to say, I am NEVER going back to any place named MANNYS, and the Health Department and Dallas Code Compliance need to know about this place. JUST UNBELIEVABLE. read more

Very cool and casual place to spend any day of the week at. The Queso is a must and so is their patio. I used to be obsessed with their Brisket and Cowboy Chicken tacos but after visiting other local Tex Mex restaurants realized they are a bit over priced for the quality. The spike in price I'm sure is due to popularity and kudos to that! I've since explored other menu options and am working my way they the list. They could use a little more flavor in the chicken they use for their flautas, but it's nothing to stop me from coming back. The staff here is very friendly as you always get greeted by at least 3 employees right away. They are very attentive and the atmosphere itself is fun.
