My husband was involved in a horrible incident while visiting New Orleans. He was out with friends when a shooting occurred not far from them and he was knocked down during the stampede of panicked people. He was thrown down and landed hard on his shoulder. The ER down there told him his shoulder was broken and he should see an orthopedist right away as he would need surgery. Our GP recommended Dr. Cleeman and the amazing receptionist,Toni, in the Manhattan Ortho Astoria office was able to fit us in a couple days later. X-rays confirmed the shoulder was not only broken but it was shattered! Dr Cleeman said it was one of the worst cases like this he had ever seen. The ball was literally flipped over from the socket joint and was hanging upside down. YIKES. Rather than replacing the entire shoulder, most likely requiring future surgeries for upkeep, Dr. Cleeman felt he could repair the bones and put Humpty Dumpty back together again. And a couple days later, he did just that! After a very successful four hour surgery and a couple hours in recovery, hubs was home on the couch! At his follow up appointment a couple weeks later, he could already move the shoulder a bit and was recovering well. Dr Cleeman removed the bandages and I couldn't believe what we saw. What I forgot to mention earlier is that my husband has a half sleeve tattoo that goes up over his shoulder. It is very special to us as it has the US and Icelandic flags intertwined with a compass representing our paths in life that led us to each other (I am from Iceland originally). We had already accepted the fact that the tattoo would have to be cut for the surgery and Dr. Cleeman told us that the incision would go directly through the center of the Icelandic flag. But when he took off those bandages, we could hardly even tell where the incision had been made! Partly due to the glue they use now rather than exterior stitches, but mostly due to the fact that Dr Cleeman is a true artist and moved the incision place over a bit. He said putting the tattoo back together took almost as long as putting the shoulder back together but he he knew it was important to us. WOW! I literally had tears in my eyes. What an incredibly awesome and unexpected surprise!! It's about three months post surgery now and my husband is recovering so well and we couldn't be happier! Everything about our experience with Manhattan Ortho has been great! Toni has always been responsive and so helpful every time we have called and needed anything. They are both such caring people and I am so thrilled to be able to recommend them to anyone looking for an Orthopedist!! read more

I came here a few months ago and left feeling incredibly disappointed by Dr. Duarte. As time progressed, I became increasingly disappointed with the entire office. Medical care: I saw Dr. Duarte for foot pain. First time i saw him, he was very distracted and answered his personal phone. Then, he sent me for an MRI. When I went back the second time to review the MRI results, he was over an hour late to our appointment and said "yeah I have other patients". Upon glimpsing over the MRI, he said "you have dead bone in your big toe". He advised me to stop running, to stop wearing high heels and stop doing anything that caused me pain etc. and offered to go over shoes I wear with me to ensure comfort. When I asked for physical therapy to regain movement in my toe, he said "I don't prescribe that when the bone has atrophied like that". At 32 years old, limiting me in this way led me to get a second opinion. The second doctor identified the issue and many months later, I'm doing PT to address it. I have since regained mobility in my big toe and can enjoy sports again. Approval for an MRI: I called 4 times so someone would get back to me and left multiple voicemails when following the right IVR process. I eventually selected a different number, got to a person who said "oh we never check that voicemail". Billing: of course, several months after I saw Dr. Duarte, I find out they didn't bill my insurance correctly so I "owed" a $400+ bill. All in all, with the exception of one person who cared about the billing issue, I wouldn't recommend any aspect of this practice and definitely not the doctor who showed such indifference to his patient's problem. read more

I hurt my knee at the gym, was in pain, and was barely able to move. I called the answering service early the next day in distress. Dr. Guillermo Duarte called me back before office hours and saw me later that same day! After the exam, he anticipated my needs by authorizing his staff to give me letters: one for my employer stating I needed to wfh and one for my gym so I could freeze my membership. He also gave me a referral for PT, and my prescription was promptly sent to my pharmacy. My stress and anxiety were greatly reduced after getting a diagnosis. My situation could have been a whole lot worse if I had to move around, possibly falling and injuring myself further. Thank you, Dr. Duarte! I have seen Dr. Duarte and others here before. It's usually easy to get an appointment. The wait time in their modern, pleasant office is usually minimal. They have an X-ray on the premises operated by Mike, who is friendly and professional. The lady at the front desk (who was in training) was sweet and helpful and prepared all my documents for me. She asked whether my pharmacy had changed, and it had. I am really grateful they were able to help me again. read more

Dr. Varma gave me an opinion on my condition, whether it's correct is to be seen. However, I have NEVER experienced such rude, unprofessional office staff. I have been yelled at, hung up on, told off - and this was because I asked for the office note from my visit that is apparently not ready yet (which I am legally entitled to no less) so I can have a reference point to research my condition further. It is obscene to me that a patient would be treated this way. From the other reviews, it seems like other people have experienced the same. It is sad more has not been done to rectify this. EDIT: I was able to get good assistance from one of the office staff that I finally found. It took a while but they did follow up. read more

I went to both Dr. Varma and Dr. Cleeman once presenting with a lot of body pain. Dr. Varma told me I needed to just work out through the pain and Cleeman actually never followed up after my appt and imaging. Within the timeframe of a year that these two folks barely examined me, I was able to figure out and get the confirmed diagnosis that I have a rare connective tissue disorder called Hypermobile ehlers danlos syndrome that affects all of the painful symptoms and subluxations that I was experiencing (and more!) this is a condition in which "working through the pain" could be more harmful than helpful. As a once heavier woman of color who was still very active and had been doing everything the doctors said to get an answer for the last 10 years, I don't think that a hurried consult or two and no follow up was helpful for my case. And the money I spent visiting the offices and getting imaging to not get proper communication is unfair and reflects a bigger problem with our health system. I hope these docs can take my words to heart and maybe hear your patients and think outside the box of your scheduled 20 min visit. Shoutout to the PTs next door though, great facility. read more

Terrible experience. Went for an appointment and waited 45 minutes. The staff were overwhelmed, they were pacing between rooms, yelling at each other, agitation in their voice. Once I got to see the doctor (Cleeman) he was doing everything in a rush, he was also attending multiple patients at the same time. He then directed to get some Xrays... the Xray technician was in the middle of eating out a aluminum to-go container, and his attitude was non-concerning, slow, and vague. Then, they sent me my invoice, they wanted to charge me 300, but my insurance adjusted down to 1/3. They sent my invoice through a letter, with no option to pay online, it only gave the option to mail it (so old fashioned and inconvenient), I tried calling to see if I could pay by phone, I waited 10 minutes on hold, then someone answered and "please hold", and waited another 10 minutes, and I hung up. read more

I cannot recommend this office, or Dr. Varma. During my most recent visit, I waited for an hour and a half to see a doctor. No explanation or apologies, and when I asked if they were busy, they said they not particularly. Dr. Vikas Varma was completely uninterested in seeing me at all, and acted very rushed. He cut me off while I was explaining my injury, brushed off my questions, and left before I had an understanding of what was wrong. I was basically given a prescription for painkillers and sent on my way. The office itself leaves much to be desired - such as heat. The reception and offices are filled with small space heaters which keep the temperature about 50 degrees. "It's "always like this in the winter," they said. It was darkly humorous to watch patients with bone, joint, and muscle pain try to open the two heavy doors at the entrance. Judging by the waiting room, and the amount of time the doctor spent with me, this practice is more interested in churning through patients than providing quality service. Update: Dr. Duarte called me back pretty quickly and answered all of my questions. Restored my faith in Doctors. Should be common practice to do on every visit, but thank you for calling me back. Hate reviewing stuff, but feel like I have to suggest ppl avoid this one... Most unprofessional/bad doctor's office I've ever experienced. I don't know why Mount Sinai Queens referred me here for my broken foot, has to be several better options than this place. Google/YouTube more helpful/educational than Dr. Duarte, didn't help me understand my injury or potential timelines at all. First visit - made me take X-rays 2 days after I just took them... they just didn't have the X-rays from Mt Sinai, so good partnership there. X-ray tech just grabbed the newly fractured part of my foot to put in place for X-ray, OUCH. Second visit - had to reschedule my appointment cuz Dr. Duarte had surgery. Showed up on rescheduled time and they tried telling me "my appointment is tomorrow" when I specifically said I wasn't available on that day to the guy who called to reschedule... extremely unorganized, but they ended up seeing me. X-ray tech grab and pulled the fractured part of my foot again, TWICE this time, nice guy but like dude... you know I have a broken foot!? Dr. Duarte comes in for 27 seconds, "so this is your X-ray, looks good, you can probably start to walk a little bit on it, come back in 3 weeks and we'll take another X-ray" wrote "schedule appt in 3 weeks" on a piece of paper, put it next to me on the bed, and walked out... most unprofessional Dr. visit of all time... I had a lot of questions that I needed answered that will heavily impact my life: if/when/how/how much I should walk, diet/vitamins, timelines, if/when I could make important plans that require me to walk a bit? After seeing Dr. Duarte twice, I'm relying on Google more than this Doctor, that's embarrassing. I'm waiting on his call back to help answer my questions, they tried saying I have to schedule another appointment, but I said not doing that until I get questions answered I wanted to get answered yesterday. Will update review if he calls me back and answers my questions. read more

Reception staff is unbelievably rude. A few days after my knee surgery I stood at the desk trying to check in for my appointment. Not a single person looked up from their computers to acknowledge me. I eventually spoke up and said I was going to sit down as I was in pain. I ended up in dr. Varma's office after a year of treatment for disc issues. He explained the issue (which I knew very well at this point) and my options. He didn't push me into surgery but actually tried to say otherwise until I saw a pain management doctor. When that doctor told me unfortunately he couldn't help me any further after unsuccessful treatments, I again ended up in Manhattan orthopedics. This is when I decided to do spinal fusion surgery, which went very smooth and I was out of the hospital the next day and back to work two weeks later. I write this to say yes at times I've been cancelled on and yes sometimes ive had to wait to see him past my appointment time. But yes I've also had him spend extra time with me that probably made him late to his next appointment. He's a great surgeon and made sure to follow up with the me over the phone after post surgery as well. Straight up and no BS kinda doctor. read more

I can whole heartedly recommend Manhattan Orthopedic and Sports Medicine and Dr. Mark Klion to anyone looking for the best doc in the city. I have sent so many of my friends and family to him and he never disappoints. He has saved many of my friends from needless surgery. You can always trust him to give you the least invasive and best option for your issue. And if you absolutely need surgery there's no one I trust more. He fixed my miniscus and I was back running in no time after months of physical therapy not working. Clean, modern, and pretty offices are a bonus. read more

Dr Cleeman was nice. My arm was in pain and he told me I had tennis elbow. He said I should wear a splint to help make it better and that there's also a drug to help with the inflammation. What REALLY turned me off was after I left the room to head back to reception, a woman called my name and said the doctor said I need a wrist splint and that they'll give me one right there. I figured that will save me a trip to Duane Reade so I didn't think anything of it. Then she put it on me and had me sign on a pad to confirm I have it on and she told me after it's $100 for the splint! A splint that costs $13-17! Then she said it was non-refundable even though there was no price on what I signed to confirm! Then I checked my email later that day to say the splint is $139! The cheap splint I got costs $13 on Amazon. I felt COMPLETELY tricked and ripped off. I don't recommend this practice at all. It obviously takes advantage of its patients. read more

I been to this office once after my regular ortho Dr Gilbert left to a new office. I was seen by Dr Cleeman. He ordered MRI of my knee and I was told his office will do authorization and get back to me. But No one called me or get back to me after this appointment. 4 months later I was charged for deductible which should not be billed. So I called the office and raised up issues of no MRI follow up. Later I was later called by Dr Cleeman's assistant, and I was accused that I should have followed up by myself beforehand. It was very unprofessional to blame the patient for the mistake of this office and I am totally dissatisfied by her behavior. I will go to a new ortho doctor and never come back to this office again. read more

I came here 6 yrs ago after a knee injury and was very satisfied with Dr. Klion's work. He was very knowledgeable and prescribed exactly the PT I needed. I found his advice to be really helpful. I was so impressed with him, that I tried to see him a couple of months ago as well. The other knee has been acting up and I wanted to check it out. He doesn't carry my insurance anymore, so I went with Dr. Dushey. He was very caring and professional and made me feel comfortable as soon as he walked inside the room. I have just finished my PT he prescribed and my knee feels a lot better. I can't say enough about these guys. Should I have any orthopedic problem in the future I hope not), I will surely go back to this clinic. Highly recommended. read more

After hours spent online searching for my new go-to chiro, I stumbled upon this office. I work a block away and was super excited to see that they have earlier and later hours during the week. As someone who works 9-5, it's always great finding someone who can accommodate you beyond that window. I've made 7:30am appointments with this office, and I believe they're open till 7pm or so some weekdays. The front desk staff is great. She's always super pleasant over the phone and they never push you to go for way more sessions, as most chiro/PT offices do. They make an initial recommendation but it's totally no pressure. Dr. Steve is great. Very friendly and very polite. I love getting a lot of feedback about my health / physical condition, and he gave me just that. Very informative and constantly checks in if pressure is just right during adjustments. That's a biggie for someone very intolerant of pain. Would recommend. read more

Was not impressed. It's a beautiful office but the actual care and service is lacking. The visit with Dr. Cleeman was similar to what I just read on other reviews. Although he had a nice manner he spent very little time with me, seemed rushed and it was hard to get my questions in or to give him the information that might have helped him to do a better diagnosis. The actual exam of my knee he did in about 30 seconds. It did not seem sufficient. I am going to another provider for this. The front desk workers were visibly disgruntled and upset. You could tell this was not a happy office. When I called to have X-ray and notes sent onward the person on the other hand was also bothered that I had left a message and then called again. All in all the focus on the patient is missing here. I would not go back and I would not refer another. read more

I'm surprised the average reviews aren't higher for this medical office. I found out about Manhattan Orthopedics when I searched for an orthopedic office near my job to schedule an appt. I hurt my shoulder weeks ago and I wanted to have it checked out. I was able to schedule an appt. with Dr. Cleeman by the next day during my lunch break. I was so appreciative to the receptionist for "squeezing" me in to their busy schedule with such short notice. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name. On the day of the appt., I arrived 15 minutes early per their request to fill out their first time patient forms. I didn't wait long even though their waiting room was busy during this time. After I explained to the doctor's asst. about my pain, she asked me to have some x-rays done. The doctor saw me soon after and did an "ultrasound". He diagnosed me with "frozen shoulder". He gave me a cortisone shot and referred me to see a physical therapist. My shoulder was feeling 80% better by the next day. Most of the staff is very friendly including the doctor. He was very understanding when I explained to him that I was squeamish (shot). read more

I've seen various doctors from this practice over the years for various fitness-related aches and pains (hip, shoulder) and each time, I've been relieved to learn that I didn't need surgery, just physical therapy. (It's especially nice when surgeons recommend the least invasive option first.) Then, earlier this year, I hurt my knee during a workout and immediately knew it was serious. Lisa, one of the receptionists, could tell over the phone that I was freaking out and got me in to see Dr. Craig Dushey right away. When an MRI a few days later confirmed my meniscus tear, Dr. Dushey squeezed me in for surgery in a little over a week, to be sure I would be ambulatory for a vacation I already had planned only a couple of weeks after that. Injuries are not fun and neither is surgery, but this experience was as positive as it could have possibly been. I was able to enjoy my vacation, my knee is better, I'm almost back to my former fitness level, and I'm grateful to this practice for getting me there with the least possible amount of stress and anxiety. read more

Overall, I was not happy with this office. Went here for my knee. I just felt like everything was rushed. The doctor barely spent any time with me. Took an x-ray of my knee even though I had told them that I already had an X-ray done and it didn't show anything. Of course, I had to pay for all of this because of the deductible on my insurance. The only positive thing was that they sent me to physical therapy, which is what I knew they would do. They wouldn't renew my physical therapy prescription without seeing me again. I felt like it wasn't worth it (at least not with this office). I work in healthcare and understand the pressures of seeing patients quickly. But even if its quick, it should be effecient. I worked with Dr. Klion twice in 2009 for two separate injuries. Once for a torn labrum and once for a sprained ankle. His diagnosis and recommendations for PT for the labrum was satisfactory but his recommendation of going on the eliptical for my ankle was sophomoric. Just recently, I had an appointment with Dr. Varma. I was told to get there early for the appointment to fill out paper work. I got there 30 minutes early, which is partly my fault. However, I sat in the waiting room until 15 minutes after my appointment should have started. I was sent into a treatment room and was told to strip and put on these burlap shorts. I stood there until 45 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start, topless and in burlap shorts. After 50 minutes, an assistant came to tell me that Dr. Varma had an emergency. It would have been nice if I was told when the emergency happened and not almost an hour into the appointment. I was told to get there early for what reason? I'm going to find another office. read more

Doesn't get any better than this!!! Dr. Klion is simply the best! He actually held my hand the first time I got my shots in my knee. Not only that took the time to tell me a funny story so I wouldn't feel the needle. It worked!! I don't know any doctors that would do this. Dr. Dushay is next on my list of fantastic doctors! He is the sweetest, kindest doctor. Always asks how I'm doing and if anything is going on in my life! And he takes care of my knees!!! What a doctor! I love these guys! I was referred here by my PCP for horrible sciatica pain. I first saw Dr. Cleeman who had great bedside manner, confirmed the sciatica diagnosis and referred me to a MRI. After that visit, my experience with this clinic has been a nightmare. No one from the clinic follows up on their patients. I was given a steroid pack and my pain continued for weeks on end. I could not get into contact with anyone from the clinic to discuss my prescriptions or my symptoms. The practice has no nurses and the MDs check portal messages without giving any response. After enduring the pain for over 3 weeks, I was finally able to get an appointment with Dr. Varma for a epidural injection. He sees me for less than 5 minutes and tells me he can't give me the injection cause my MRI was normal. I completed my MRI over 3 weeks ago and was never told its results, or that I couldn't get an injection. Dr. Varma then gives me ANOTHER referral and then I am charged a copay when I was seen for less than 5 minutes with nothing done. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. The clinicians here are incompetent and lack empathy. They don't follow-up on their patients. Only one receptionist was kind and didn't have attitude. As a clinician, I would never refer my patients here or any family/friends. read more

I have had a generally positive experience with Dr. Dushey. A recent visit is a good example. He pulled up my latest MRI and had some new notes/observations to discuss. At one point he called in a senior partner and they looked at my chart together, discussing options, and explaining to me exactly what they were discussing. Then, he walked me through all of my options, putting a "check" next to his recommendations and an "x" next to the ones he didn't recommend. We developed a multi-month treatment plan with if/then logic (if the hip doesn't respond to treatment A two months, call me and I will prescribe treatment B). He comes across as thoughtful and compassionate. And he has a very logical, problem-oriented process that my consultant brain enjoys. The practice loses one star for the occasional lengthy wait times (60-90 minutes, bring a book). This can be minimized if you book the earliest timeslot available. read more

The finger was not just broken but also twisted out of place; however, Dr. Richard operated on my finger and and did a great job and now it's back to normal. read more

An ambivalent doctor that is looking to work with patients only if it benefits his practice financially. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. He seemed like a nice guy, spent time hearing me out, but me living with pain everyday, having difficulty standing, getting up, getting out of bed, doing everyday things and begging him for more PT did not concern him. He kept asking me if I was looking to sue and said I won't get anywhere because there were no broken bones! I am not looking to sue, but to live without a large amount of clumping scar tissue in my back and buttocks, as well as pain and soreness for the rest of my life. I was too young to feel this old. He said it was a contusion and it would take a long time to heal, maybe two years. He said he doesn't believe in PT, said "It doesn't work" and "it is a glorified massage". What is striking is Dr. Gilbert's ambivalence. He said, "Eventually, we all need our parts replaced" and explained how he just had his left knee replaced. What he doesn't seem to understand is he is 30 to 40 years older than I am and he should not be using his own personal experience when treating a 30 something year old patient. He told me to continue to do the exercises on my own at home, take Alleve, but what he would like to continue seeing me for is arthritis in the hips, which he claims to be early onset but I saw nothing in the X-Rays. It was shocking that he didn't care for what I was actually seeing him for but was looking for something else to treat me. We all know, arthritis is incurable therefore, it would only amount to costly medical bills, where only his practice would benefit. But as far as the contusion to the sacrum, which affects me due to radiating pain from neck to buttocks, quick degeneration of my back and butt muscles from further development of scar tissue, he said there was nothing he could do for me. I contacted the NY Workers Compensation Board and they did not assume I was looking to sue and told me to get another Dr.'s opinion. They also thought Dr. Gilbert was crazy for telling me, "Eventually, we all need our parts replaced." Honestly, may Dr. Gilbert retire peacefully and not ruin the chances of another person living a decent life without pain. He had served as a doctor but perhaps he is too jaded to be a good one now. read more

Dr. Marvin Gilbert is an experienced, caring doctor who LISTENS! [This review is cross-referenced under Dr. Marvin Gilbert's listing on yelp. I haven't worked with any of the other doctors at Manhattan Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Group.] I have a really tough time finding doctors I like. I need them to be experienced, instill in me a sense of confidence about their work, and I really need them to listen. I need them to tell me why they make the recommendations they make. I'm not the kind of patient who just sits back and takes whatever a doctor says without a grain of salt. I may be a doctor's worst nightmare, in this sense. When I visited Dr. Martin Gilbert for some trouble I was having with my knees, he took the time to get a detailed history of my health and my family's health, and to listen to everything I was saying. Throughout the exam, whenever I had any questions, no matter how silly they sounded to me, he answered them thoroughly and with respect. Although I wasn't a serious case, or a case that was going to lead to big bucks for him in the long run, he spent plenty of time with me, and gave me recommendations that seemed reasonable and were clearly explained. Though I'm thankful I don't have to visit him very often, I think Dr. Marvin Gilbert is a fantastic physician, and I recommend him very highly to anyone looking for a good Orthopedic Surgeon. read more

I saw Dr. Vikas Varma in the LIC office. He is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. He is patient, caring, thorough, down to earth, professional, doesn't rush you, makes sure you understand everything, answers all questions and helps you in every way. I will have him perform back surgery on me. His office staff is highly efficient and professional. Toni went out of her way to help me get an an appointment with him as I was having insurance issues. She is a perfect representation of what Dr. Varna's office is about- efficiency, follow through, dedication, professionalism, pleasant and caring. All doctors and their staff should be like this. Both of my appointments, although made with a doctor, ended up being solely with a nurse practitioner who didn't explain what she was doing and scheduled me for multiple XRays and MRIs, none of which showed anything of interest. I do not recommend Dr.Varma. First of all the office looks like an accident waiting to happen, the two entrance doors are too heavy for a normal person let alone patients with neck, back or knee pain. Dr. Varma seemed nice enough at first, after looking at my X-Rays which looked normal, after I decided to on doing a MRI He became dismissive. Didn't ask me about pain medications or pain management. No physical restrictions or what should I do while I wait for insurance to approve the MRI. Will not be coming back. read more

I usually don't write reviews. In fact, I've only done it once before - for my physical therapist who happens to be in the same office as my surgeon. My PCP referred me to Dr. Varma and I really couldn't have picked a better doctor myself. From the very first day, when they were in a (sad and freezing) temporary location on 62nd and 5th, Dr. Varma was patient and understanding and explained my condition in detail. He quickly scheduled an MRI and instead of immediately suggesting surgery, he sent me to a pain management doctor and PT. He has returned every single call and displayed great bedside manners at all times. When I finally decided to go ahead with surgery, he again explained the procedure in detail and asked me to sleep on it before I made my final decision. I am happy to say that surgery was a breeze - much less dramatic than I feared it would be, and Dr. Varma has been fantastic at following up and answering all my post op questions. The front desk staff and the surgical coordinator have all been wonderful - quickly responding to emails and messages. I honestly have nothing but great things to say about everyone I have come across in this office. read more

Richard Gilbert, MD, is an excellent doctor, checking and rechecking himself every step along the way. Hurt your wrist? He'll X-ray both to see what your other one looks like so he can compare. When you make your follow-up visit, know this: If it still hurts, he will repeat the process over. He doesn't like to guess about your health. He carefully examines, mulls, looks again--he wants to solve the problem. If he solves the problem, you'll feel better. He's a nice man--not warm and fuzzy--isn't lighthearted and he might not get a joke if you make one--because, when he works he's focused and doesn't take to distractions. He helped me, but he couldn't fix me. He said it. He said that he might have tried something else when I was in surgery, but he didn't think I'd need it. He spoke straight--he was upfront all the way. And, when I asked him what he'd do if he were in my shoes, his answer was simple and illuminating; he paused as if he was going to speak for himself--then he realized he was supposed to answer as if he was me; He said, "If I were in your shoes, I'd do what you are doing." I saw two doctors: Dr. Varma and Dr. DuShey. Unfortunately I can post only one review otherwise I would post three. Yet they would all get only one star. The service offered at the front desk is despicable, the level of rudeness describable, the overall professionalism beyond words. Appointments cancelled without notifying the patient. People hanging up on the phone while the patient is talking...literally. Annoyed people answering the phone with zero patience in assisting patients, that includes phone conversation with patients other than myself I overheard while at the counter waiting to be helped. Dr. DuShey misdiagnosed me thus causing my "issue" to even deteriorate further rather than being addressed. My medical issue related to the hip was an easy one to diagnose, not a mysterious one that happens to one person in a million. He has below zero bedside manners. He would not listen to what I was saying and would interrupt me while talking (which he did repeatedly). He was argumentative and extremely arrogant. He refused to offer any medical alternatives other than the one I offered despite the fact I was very reluctant to pursue it. Saying that he was patronizing does not even begin to describe his behavior. I simply have no words to describe him so I will simply stick to the fact that he has no interest in me and misdiagnosed a very simple medical matter somebody still in college would have been to diagnose. Dr. Varma has already received plenty of one star review and I agree with them so please read them because they say what I would say. As for my experience with Dr. Varma in addition to what said by others, I will say that he put me through unnecessary procedure which have caused me massive side effects I had to deal with for over six months. The procedure also did not help at any level. When asked a direct question as to what the side effects of such procedure would be, he said there are none. Truth is that the most common and massive side effect of such procedure can be found on google...and I so wish I had done a search rather than trusting him just because he is a doctor. They were quick to take my appointment and information but it was not until i arrived with my broken foot to them did they let me know that they did not take my insurance. They sent 4 emails and text messages to confirm the appointment but no one called to inform me about my insurance. And yes they did take my information on the phone. not sure about the care of the doctors but their intake person sucks. the front desk is rude. They did suggest that I can pay for the visit $350.00.They had me speak to the manger he was less then helpful I asked him why he even came out to speak to me not sure what the purpose of that was. read more
