Chao Asian Food and Sushi easily satisfied my craving. My wife, daughter, and I enjoyed maki rolls, tempura shrimp, and a shared sushi platter. I love temaki rolls, think of seaweed shaped into a cone, filled with rice, fish, cucumber, etc... Chao's version included avocado, which added a creamy texture and flavor, to accompany the fresh salmon. Plus, I requested that mine be prepared spicy, which they were happy to do. It was SO good, between the three of us, we pursed 1 normal and 3 spicy :-) This friendly restaurant is located very close to the cathedral and to the Ludwig museum. You'll find it overlooking the Rheine. I recommend making a visit to Chao to satisfy your sushi cravings.

But man, it's well worth it! Either order the chicken on its own, or go for the ChiNoo menu with the added fried noodles. Choose your sauce (I recommend the Pikant!) and enjoy! Surrounded by (way too many) döner places, ChiNoos is the perfect alternative. Or in my case: the only place to go on Chlodwigplatz. Döner what? Durum where? No, ChiNoo's is the place for me.

Good Bulgogi. Better than Bibimbab's down the road…read more I tried Chi.Noo's tonight, and ordered the Bulgogi. It is primarily a fried chicken place. The interior is nice, although tonight it was very hot, (34 degrees C) so I sat there and sweat. There are three tables for four and some wall seating. It appears to be a Korean husband and wife who work there. She was working the fried chicken up front, and he went into the back to cook my Bulgogi and some Bibimbap for two Korean businessmen who were dining there at the same time. The couple were eating fresh fruit at one of the tables in the back--one often sees asian food staff eating healthy like this. The bulgogi came with rice, whereas one of the pictures here shows noodles. There was kimchi, bean sprouts, and spicy vegetables (root?) on the side. The bulgogi had a good amount of sauce leak onto the rest of the plate, it looked a little mealy, but tasted great. As it was just cooked, it was hot and delicious. The bibimbap the businessmen were eating looked more authentic and with greater portion size than Bibimbab's. Relative to Bibimbab, which is down line 15 on Zulpicherplatz, Chi.Noo's bulgogi was a much better portion size. It is also a lot less corporate-like. The prices are about the same (Bulgogi at Chi.Noo's was 7.90E). I'll definitely go back there for a bulgogi-fix, and probably not to Bibimbab's. As I was leaving a gentlemen ordered a box of noodles to go, so that is an option there. It would not be a good place for a date, but great for an informal meal, especially on a cooler day. There is one of those awesome for men open air outdoor urinal things across the street, a Chlodwigplatz feature. It is worth going to Zulpicherplatz for a 1E eis afterwards.
