Massaman Curry

ATMOSPHERE: I think there are a total of 7 tables inside with a little high top bar that has a few seats and a cash register. In my opinion the tables are too big for the space and it feels a little awkward. There isn't a paper towel dispenser in the bathroom so I used tissues to dry my hands. SERVICE: I think they were short staffed when we went it, but we were not very welcome. We waited about 10 minutes upon walking in before anyone came out of the kitchen and when we asked for a table for two the server looked at us funny and said like kinda late. It was 7:30 at that point and the hours stated it was open til 9 so I was very confused. After the first interaction things were smooth. FOOD: All the dishes besides appetizers desserts and drinks were around $15-$17 which I found to be a bit overpriced. The food was good, especially the curry dish my husband had but it was hard to justify. I did appreciate how large the Thai tea and pad Thai were.

Had a great time at Mango Thai. Our server was very kind and helpful throughout! It is pretty small in there not much room to move around but still the food was good my favorite was the Pad See Lew. Although it was good it seems to have lacked a little flavor but still a good place to eat!

Wow!! I am so impressed. First off our server was extremely nice. She kept checking in on us and made sure we liked everything. Also, the food was extremely tasty. We tried the mango spring rolls which had mango, veggies, and shrimp inside. The two sauces they served them with were addictingly good!! Also, I ordered the Rama peanut spinach curry!!! Soooo good!!! Honestly, it was like delicious peanut sauce spread over fried tofu and spinach! The prices are similar to other Thai restaurants in the area! I would definitely go back now!!! So delicious!

Was craving Thai Food Friday Night for Date Night & we had an amazing experience at Mango Thai - St Paul, MN It's a super small space about 6-8 tables however it's super cozy & the customer service was amazing! * Shrimp Tempura Pad Thai: so UNIQUE the batter of the shrimp tempura was perfect & flavorful! The pad thai noodles itself was very very soft & saucyyy with fresh bean sprouts. We didn't think the fish sauce was needed at all * Chicken Tom Yum Soup: very strong lemongrass flavor which I love so much, the sourness was definetly there, so flavorful & definetly needed for the cold weather! Was salty enough to enjoy with rice! * Thai Papaya Salad: Not your original spicy thai papaya however it was still very delicious! The waitress informed us that it's not the traditional style but I loved how extra-peanuty the enhancement was! I didn't mind, it was still very spicy and crunchy! * Green Curry w Beef: we were craving curry & this satisfied our cravings! Defunetly warm, smooth, not too rich and the beef was tendor! Was perfect poured over rice * Thai Tea: how can you not get thai tea at a thai restaurant? No where else makes perfect thai tea! These dishes portion was perfect for 2 people and the bill was $70 ~ which is very common for most Thai restaurants. Everything tasted delicious!

I highly recommend this place. Though the spacing is small and limited, if you can get a seat it is well worth it.

The place was lively and welcoming, with thriving plants by the big windows. Everyone working was nice even as they were swamped with takeout and online orders in addition to the place being packed with diners. The food at Thai Basil was delicious. The fried appetizers were crunchy and flavorful, and the main dishes were filling. Portions were generous on most dishes, so we had leftovers to look forward to. Standout dishes for me were the Basil Fried Rice and the Tom Kha. Location is right off the green line light rail and neighborhood parking is a block or so away!

The restaurant was quite busy by 7 PM, but the wait for a table wasn't long at all. The menu was limited, but the majority featured traditional Thai dishes. I was pleasantly surprised to see mee gatee and kao paik on the menu which is my Favs. We ordered the boat noodles, which quickly became my favorite place for them. The pad thai and kao mun gai tauat were also hits at the table! Overall grea place for authentic thai food!

I've ordered from On's dozens of times and they honestly deserved this review a lot sooner…read more Everything I've ever eaten from On's is authentic, delicious and bursting with flavor. I've tried numerous menu items, including their Laab, Pad-ga-pow, mango salad, pineapple curry, pad Thai and Prik Prik Moo Grop. There's another dish I've tried there that seems it's no longer on their menu but it was a curry seafood dish served in an actual coconut. It was amazing! My favorites so far are the mango salad and pad Thai. The #70 Moo Grop dish is a close one for top picks but my only complaint is the pork chunks weren't my preferred texture. The sauce, however, is a show stealer. I could literally drink it! It's that good. I've personally never had a negative eating experience with Ons but my husband did complain to me about their pineapple curry. He orders his food at the spiciest level, and I only ever tried a bite of his, but he thought it was very sour and tasted pickely. It was not the best curry I've had but I didn't think it was bad. I'm a seasoned Thai food eater - it's basically all I eat. So I've tried all of the Thai spots in the twin cities. On's is sitting in my top two. I've never eaten inside the restaurant so I can't say much for the service, but I have been in the restaurant to pick up orders and there isn't much to say for its ambiance. It's a very casual setting. My only complaint about Ons is that they serve their curry in shallow containers which makes for smaller portions. If they served their curry in soup containers and gave larger portions, they'd be my go-to spot every time. Right now, my other favorite Thai spot has them beat on curry portions. But that doesn't stop me from coming back for other menu items.

Tried a new spot solely based on Yelp photos and reviews. I was craving a mean wonton (or three)…read moreand this was the spot that I decided on. When I drove by, I wasn't sure if they were open because it was so dark inside and we didn't see an open sign. I tried the spring rolls, pad see ew and the order of the wontons. I absolutely LOVED the spring rolls. They tasted fresh, and I enjoyed the basil in them. When I come back this is a must for me. The wontons were good and spiced well, but not my favorite out there. The main dish, pad see ew, got a lot of compliments so we went with that dish. I really enjoyed that as well - flavors of basil and ginger paired well with the thick noodles and veggies. I added chicken for $2 and I thought there was a generous potion of protein added for that amount. Was enough for me and my partner to share and had some leftover. Overall, great experience and we will be back.

We went there before they closed down for renovation…read more Stuffed tofu is definitely my favorite item out of everything on their menu. It was crisp and vegetables inside felt fresh. The sauce that came with it is also a perfect pairing to the dish. The 4 pieces really fill you up so definitely good for its price. Portions are definitely good at this restaurant and you can easily find street parking in the neighborhood behind. Mohinga was okay. It was behind the first two times I came here. The fish cake in Mohinga was tasty as well as the fried peas. The boat noodle has very rich flavor. Broth was good and they gave generous amount of bean sprouts. La Phat Ye was good. They normally don't offer iced but we asked them to change. Overall, it's a great restaurant with decent prices and we hope that we can get back into business ASAP.

I feel blessed to say that one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in the United States is…read moreliterally right here in the Twin Cities, because the food here is heavenly to the point of me consistently returning despite living far from the establishment. In terms of food, there is a mixture of Burmese, Thai, and Karen dishes, and each one that my friends and I have ordered has been a hit. The tea leaf salad has amazing texture because of peanuts and fried garlic, which provide crunchiness, and has amazing flavor because of lemon juice, fish sauce, and tomatoes. The noodle salad has a light taste without adding the given lime piece, and then the rich nutty taste gets evoked and elevated upon adding lime juice. The zaap crispy has very well-seasoned fried chicken pieces, and medium spice level gives it a good amount of flavor. The shan khao soi is so creamy and tasty that even tasting the curry broth itself is a sensational experience, and the chicken leg included literally has "fall off the bone" meat. The boat noodle has a mixture of sweetness and savor, while the sweet flavor does not overpower anything at all. Finally, the mohinga clearly has fish cake flavor and texture fully infused, making it authentically delicious. We also ordered the knyaw iced salad, which was a mixture of ice along with crackers and other types of sweet ingredients. I thought it was very similar to a type of Vietnamese dessert called chè ba màu (three color pudding), and fully enjoyed it. The establishment only had one dessert, and I thought that was sufficient. While the street contains many excellent restaurants, I personally believe that this establishment stands out in terms of taste. I must also mention that since my friends and I arrived when barely anyone else was there each time we had gone there, we never experienced any service delays that some have mentioned in their reviews. I probably will give this place a 5 rating anyway even if I experience slowness, although I hope I don't.
