So.....LONG post! My…read moreMIL hired Thomas Siding Windows and Remodeling to do some work on our porch!!!! He told me his reputation speaks for itself, so I want it to speak the truth. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!! Our house is 17 1/2 years old. The porch needed TLC! But it wasn't a safety hazard....until he left!!!! The railing now sways. The pickets are still loose! He sawed off 5 of the 8 newel posts. in the places where he didn't measure correctly, he caulked....and a 4 year old could have done a better caulking job! The next to the last step is longer than the rest. He didn't replace but a few inches of one of the boards!!! When I asked him to please clean up before he left ( because he didn't before he left for the weekend), he got belligerent and threaten to leave and then the next day said he was finished!!! I have NEVER seen someone just leave there tool belt on the job over the weekend. Or their level and hammer just out in the elements when they left for the day! He would show up, crank his music up load, and work. When he decided to leave, he'd blow off the sidewalk and he was gone. Tool belt and jigsaw on the bench. Screws and hammer in the middle of the landing! These are pics of the finished product!!!!! He charged her $3,000...and left here with a stack of lumber her never used!!!! Now, we have to hire someone with a REAL reputation, to come and complete the porch!!! More $$$. Included in the pics, are screen shots from his business page bragging about the job he was doing on our porch! I also included a shot of his personal page!! There is also a screen shot of where he is advertising to help the elderly....so I hope this protects y'all's grandparents and older friends too!!! I love local business. Anyone will tell you that. And I believe that you should use small business whenever possible....but don't make the same mistake my MIL did. Don't see someone doing something, and believe what they tell you they will do. Don't tell your story to people you don't know...because they will use your weakness to take advantage of you when you are at you lowest!! I truly believe this is what happened here. God don't like ugly!!!!

I can hardly begin to capture into words the appreciation my husband and I have for how the owner…read moreof Coastal Carolina Construction has gone over and beyond to help us. We recently purchased a home in Holden Beach that was built 6 years ago. Coastal Carolina Construction installed the gorgeous pool with custom decking. The previous owner of our home did some repairs that caused damage that affected the pool. When we contacted Coastal Carolina Construction, Jeremy came out and accessed the damage. He brought in a crew and did extensive work to correct the damage that wasn't even his fault. We are amazed and deeply grateful. When I read the first review of this company on Yelp, I wasn't surprised. Jeremy's character, integrity, and work ethic is unmatched.

He saved the day for my daughter and me this weekend. This weekend my daughter and I were walking on the beach with my brother and sister-in-law when my 12-year-old daughter stepped hard on a big fishing lure and fell to the ground screaming. It had pierced all the way through two of her toes and the bottom of her foot. We had no way to cut the barbs off to get it out of her foot, and a nearby fisherman didn't either. I was trying to figure out how I was going to carry her out of there through the sand for a mile back to our car when my brother saw Jeremy in the cove on his boat and flagged him down. Jeremy got off his boat and came over with a fishing tool. My brother is recovering from breaking his arm, so Jeremy cut the barbs off the hooks and helped us get the hooks out of her foot. She was able to hobble back to the car and I got her straight to urgent care. I would post a picture of the wound but it's gruesome, so I'll just post a picture of the lure. Jeremy, I can't thank you enough!! You are our hero!

Would give zero stars if I could. A-1 roofing did a whole roof repair for me and I thought it was…read morea pretty good price, until my whole roof was leaking. Had another roofer come look at it and they had not put the ridge cap on the top of the roof and the ridge cap pooled up water and the water was just pouring in the middle of my double wide mobile home. All the drywall was soft, mold everwhere, ruined floors and Insurance will not cover as they say it is the roofers responsibility. It will be years before I get this all fixed and Donnie says it's not his fault, then who's fault is it that the roof he put on leaked?? Stay away from this company at all costs.

BEWARE of Donnie Long (who I'll refer to as DL) from A1 roofing he's the WORST!!!! We hired him to…read moreput a coating on our beach deck the previous 1 had lasted 6 years, He said his would last 10. He quoted 2,500. we put 1/2 down. then He slapped roller rock cement coating on with no prep. going right over dirt debris & bird poop... & followed NONE of the application instructions, Like adding a 2nd coat within 2 hrs. & applying 2 coats of sealer... It failed within hrs. cracking up as it was drying & later peeling. We canceled his check for the balance. He then threw a big yelling tantrum full of threats & profanity. We called the roller R. product rep who explained that DL had not only ignored all the label instructions applying it incorrectly but had used the wrong product for the job. The 1 he should have used was a rubberized coating. DL's idea of fixing it was to add another coating of the wrong stuff to the already failed wrong stuff. The rep advised against it. We tried it on 2 test areas & it failed as predicted, DL had no other suggestions for a fix. Then DL said that what he had really done was mix roller r. with the rubberized coating before arriving at the job sight. (complete malpractice) The 2 cannot be mixed, verified by the rep in writing. Our deck is a peeling mess & DL still thinks we owe him the full 2,500 for this totally botched job & refuses to refund our deposit of $1,278.50 We have to just think of it as a donation to the Donnie long fund. He tries to say now-" I don't guarantee at the beach" he also did 2 other small jobs for us that day, replaced 1 shingle for $50 which he later tried to change the price of to $250, & he performed 1 minor gutter repair which was very unprofessionally & poorly done. DL enjoys calling us childish names. He creepily sent 1 text threatening to come to our home uninvited. we've since increased our home security

He…read moresaid he could deal with the insurance company as he was familiar with them and that was the best and easiest thing for his clients. He ended up getting $36,000 for the roof and never replaced the seven skylights or the copper flashing that the insurance company paid him for. He would never send us a final invoice or a copy of the insurance claim so we had to get it from the insurance company to see exactly what they paid him for. Stop taking our calls and text and never came back to fix anything just stole as much as he could. Also, after he installed the roof, we had five leaks and are still dealing with it and costing us a lot of money. We also had to hire a new roofing company to come out and fix everything. The guy is a complete crook and is not recommended. Zero stars at best.
