I had an amazing time at Hammer and Nails. My wife treated me to a manicure and haircut and beard…read moretrim for Valentines day. I had the first appointment available on a Saturday morning. I walked in and Shannon was at the desk and gave me a tour of the facility. I was so impressed. She took me in for my manicure and I must apologize for forgetting the young ladies name but we chatted alot and she is half Honduran. She gave an amazing manicure, pleasant attitude and so energetic. She made the entire manicure relaxing. I was then taken to the haircut area where Vladimir took care of me. He gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever had in 50+ years. The beard trim with facial cleansing was professional and almost but me to sleep. His attention to detail was amazing. Upon completion I decided to setup a membership based off of the professional attitude of the staff, the welcoming environment and the prices are definitely equal to the work. I recommend this place for sure. I have shared my feedback with my fellow veterans who work on Fort Bragg. It is worth the drive for 2 hours of relaxation that helps you forget the stress of life.

They've gone through quite a few changes over the year, but all for the better. What guy doesn't love a free beer or bourbon while getting a haircut? All the stylists are extremely talented, like Alex and Jeff. The front desk staff, particularly Haley, is extremely kind and always welcoming. I'm also surprised everyone in there can make really good old fashions, which you wouldn't expect from a barber. Highly highly recommend.

Title: **Avoid at All Costs: A Nightmare at The Bar Ber Shop**…read more I rarely write negative reviews, but my recent experience at The Bar Ber Shop- Wake Forest compels me to share this cautionary tale. If you value your hair--or your sanity--steer clear of this establishment. I brought my son in for a simple undercut, hoping for a quick, painless experience. Instead, we encountered a barber whose incompetence was matched only by his disregard for customer service. The gentleman in the rear left of the shop, sporting an enormous afro that somehow seemed to be compensating for a lack of skill, was responsible for this disaster. The initial haircut was a catastrophe. Not only did he butcher the basic cut I requested, but he also left cuts on my son's face/hairline. To make matters worse, the hairline was crooked and uneven; and in the vein of "new barber" he pushed his hairline back. As if that wasn't enough, he disconnected the sideburns from the hair, leaving hair patches on the face, resulting in an uneven and amateurish finish. When I pointed out the substandard job and asked for corrections, his response was dismissive stating that it would be a while. There was literally no waiting patrons. like ZERO patrons, To make matters worse, he tried to overcharge us for the "service." The initial price quoted was on the high end of reasonable but given the quality of the haircut, but the attempted upcharge for fixing his own incompetance was audacious. I paid what I was quoted. In summary, The Bar Ber Shop is a cautionary tale of what happens when pride and poor craftsmanship collide. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place unless you're looking for a headache and a poorly executed haircut. Lesson learned: I'll be taking the 50 min drive to Southeast Raleigh to his old faithful barber at GQ Cuts. We've had to wait but have NEVER had issue with the cut. I'll sacrifice the "inconvenience" for the peace of mind!

Third time trying to get a haircut at this location. Always understaffed after 5PM... 45 minute…read morewait is the average. I stayed at 26 minutes for 30 minutes until I finally left. Love Sports Clips. But this location was a disappointment…read more My stylist was very rough with her clippers and comb. I was stabbed and scraped because she was moving at a crazy fast pace like she had somewhere to be. And I was her first cut after her break. I was supposed to get a 3 to a 4 fade with scissor cut on top. She started by attacking the sides of my head with the clippers and comb. Only used one setting. Never blended it. She then cut around my ears and neck luckily unscathed. When she would position my head it was like I was a nuisance to her. Terrible scissor cut on top, told her to leave it long enough to style and she immediately chops off everything. I look like Lloyd Christmas for crying out loud. She literally cut my bangs in a straight line across my forehead. She then asked me if I wanted to do the shampoo.... Of course. Always. buuuuuuttttttt that was another mistake. She sits me down. Doesn't adjust the chair. Puts the hot towel on my face like she's about to waterboard me. Proceeds to wet my hair. Shampoos for maybe 30 seconds. And starts to rinse. Water has now started to drip down my back because she never adjusted the chair. And suddenly we're done. I was maybe back there for all of 90 seconds. Ridiculous. I use the dry towel to start wiping my face and she takes it from me.... My hair is dripping wet still and I run my hand through it. Shampoo all behind my ears and neck. I ask for it back and she gives me this dirty look like I'm a jerk. THEN the best part was when she did the massage! Have you ever seen that security video where the guy barely waves his hands around the people and then lets them through..... yeah that massager was about that close to me. I chuckled at this point and looked up at her.... She's checking herself out, smacking her gum, messing with her hair not even paying attention to what she's doing. I almost did not tip, I have worked in the service industry all my life. I believe in over tipping. Just ask my wife, we argue about it all the time. I still gave her 5 bucks and that was too much.
