Have been looking for a new breakfast spot and of course I went to my only place to search for great places, yep Yelp!!!!! It was a Saturday morning around 9:30am when I arrived. This place was about 1/2 full with plenty of seating available, especially at the counter. The place is all black and white with black metal stools and chairs. I did notice that most of the seating is high top style which for an older crowd might be a turn off. The seats need some cushion as they are not the most comfortable. The menu has a great selection for breakfast and lunch which some of the house specialities on the right side of the menu. On this trip I went with the Eggs Benny that was a suggestion from the server. Just to start this was packed full of flavor!!!! WOW Love It!!!! So you have 2 perfectly poached eggs on top of pile of chorizo on top of a toasted english muffin and then topped with some absolutely awesome chipotle hollandaise sauce. You have a choice of hash browns or home potatoes which fresh potatoes (not sure why any restaurant would use frozen home potatoes) chunks with chopped onions and peppers. I did this without the bell peppers and they can over power the potatoes sometimes. They were cooked perfectly not burnt but did have a nice texture to them along with a great fresh flavor. The flavor and spice was perfect!!! Not too much spice but enough to get a little bead of sweat on your forehead. She also had suggested the chilaquiles, there is also a breakfast burrito that she suggested. So I have plenty to try non the next trip. The coffee was hot and fresh and diffidently not maxwell house. Sorry maxwell house lovers. The cup never went below an inch from the lip without meg refilled. The food and the service was absolutely awesome, the place with super clean and a little on the chilly side as far as temperature. My only suggestion would be do something with those seats!!!! read more

Came across this place on yelp...so we decided to try this place out. I did not know if was new to the area and has only been open 6 weeks. All i can say is that we were very satisfield with the food. We ordered The Munch and i ordered the polish sausage breakfast . The place is very clean a lil small but overall Great service. Maybe they should put some small tables outside . I am very satisfied and we willbe back for breakfast soon. Thank you Mandy for bringing this place here to Bakersfield. I've had this place bookmarked for a while. Decided to stop by for a late breakfast after doing some errands. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy plate, with sausage links and scrambled eggs. The biscuits were super fluffy, and moist. Gravy was a little thin, and personal preference here, but needed more sausage. Again, personal preference. Flavor and seasoning was good. Sausage was cooked perfectly. Eggs were delicious. Fresh eggs, and not from a box, or has added crap to "make them fluffy". Not overcooked, but not runny. Perfect again. Husband ordered the Eggs Beny. He was excited about trying this dish. Pics looked amazing, but really have to try for yourself. The chorizo itself has amazing flavor, throw in Chipotle hollandaise? Game over. I don't like eggs other than scrambled, and I'd order this dish. Hash browns were crisp but not burnt. Daughter had two scrambled eggs, again, perfectly cooked. I can see us frequenting this place a lot. Check hours, I believe they may only be open for breakfast and lunch. We went in hungry, and talked about ordering more food, but portion sizes were great. Before leaving Bakersfield, I wanted to try another breakfast spot. While browsing through Yelp, I found Mandy's Cafe. To put it simply, this place is amazing! I sat at the bar. The decor of this place set the mood. The plants on the wall made it feel very cozy. The servers were friendly and they seemed like they were happy to be working. I ordered The Munch, which is biscuits and gravy, topped with chicken, bacon and cheese. It arrived hot, and it was delicious! The biscuits were soft and warm and the gravy tasted homemade. The chicken was cripsy on the outside and tender on the inside. Everything tasted like it was just freshly made. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food too. While talking to my server, I learned they have only been open for 3 weeks. I see a great future for Mandy's Cafe! I will be back the next time I am in Bakersfield! read more

This place is delicious! Clean and nice, but the really tall waitress just stares at my husband and smiles at him way too long and really doesn't acknowledge me at all. To the point where he looks at me and asks me questions so she can look at me for the answer and she just looks at him. Usually waitresses give me the attention and ask me the question, maybe they are trained better in the service etiquette. I love this place but we haven't been back in two months because it started getting more and more obvious and more uncomfortable, we use to go every weekend. read more

I barely found out about this place yesterday 1/26/21 and let me just say that not only was the food delivered fast it was also great tasting and the service was exceptional! Wouldn't waist my time on this place! The customer service is terrible, the girls working the tables and counter are rude and not welcoming at all. They spend more time talking to each other and giving people dirty looks than what they do actually attending customers. We had to flag down a server to take our order and she had an attitude about it. Once the food arrived she did not stop by to check if we needed anything else. We even went to the counter to get the check ourselves. The food was not that great either, it was bland and mediocre. Breakfast food is hard to mess up but they somehow managed to do so. Will not return here. Managment needs to hire new people or train them on simple hospitality. read more

Had to run to UPS, and happened to stumble upon Mandy's cafe. Very happy that I had. The place is small however, it was a cute and nice atmosphere. We were greeted fast and sat within seconds of stepping through the doors. Services was fast and friendly. I ordered the grilled cheese with avocado. Good food, but they are a small place,, so go early. I would recommend this restaurant.

Perhaps it's because I had the food to go, but it was okay. I drove from the west end of town to this restaurant (which is closer to 99 off of Panama) and back--just for reference. Keep in mind my expectations were tempered knowing I was taking breakfast out to go. Still, it was underwhelming. I got the following to go: Top of the morning with french toast. I expected the french toast to be better than it was. Truthfully, it tasted egg heavy. The rest of the breakfast was okay. Super Breakfast with Pancakes. I was craving some buttermilk flap jack pancakes; these pancakes were not that. They had the consistency of the pancakes you get at McDonalds. Just as with the "Top of the Morning" the remainder of the breakfast was okay. I'll try this restaurant once more. Next time I'll eat in and see if it changes my opinion. read more

Food is really good and so is there coffee. Quick, easy and convenient. The only bad things I'll say is that the place itself has poor ventilation and you leave there smelling like food. The other thing is that the waitress we got was very forgetful and I had to ask for things that should have been intuitive (ex: brings coffee with no creamer so I have to ask for it or brings the food with no utensils so I have to ask). But due to the great taste of the food and the convenience, I will be coming back. read more

Walked in and realized it's small with limited seating but it was so cute and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food and the staff seemed happy so I was all in. Waited maybe 10 minutes for a table. The decor was cute, high tables, regular tables and counter seating. Everything was clean and organized. I ordered coffee... so heres my biggest pet peeve. You can have an amazing restaurant and horrible coffee.. but this coffee was delicious. I was extremely pleased. I ordered the Bacon Guac Grilled Cheese, my oldest daughter ordered the Chorizo Skillet and the youngest daughter ordered her some bacon and fruit. Everything was delicious. The sandwich was out of this world! The service was equally amazing. The servers were nice and seemed to be happy. They gave you eye contact and actually had small conversations. Yes they were busy but they didnt treat you like you were unimportant. This is how some of those bigger places need to be. By the way the reason we came here today is because we went to give Broken Yolk another chance, walked in and were ignored again. I'm glad I found this place I will be back for sure! read more

IMPRESSIVE Took a good friend of mine to breakfast this past week and found this gem on Yelp. I had the "Eggs Benny" which is an eggs Benedict with a huge twist in a positive manner! Chorizo instead of ham and an awesome rich spicy sauce to boot! Cooked to perfection. My buddy had a stack of cakes and bacon and was equally impressed. Prices were very fair and the establishment was extremely clean. My personal opinion turn offs and the lack of five stars is this. The chairs are VERY uncomfortable and the silverware is cheap. Fix these two things (I understand your a new start up business but don't really care) and you will become five stars I promise! read more

Placed a order over the phone, arrived to pick it up they told me it wasn't ready when i saw it sitting on the counter. I stood there for about 15 minutes while my food was getting cold. They told me it was ready but they couldn't ring me up because the person who took the order was dealing with a table. 5 stars definitely for their friendly service and delicious breakfast food. If you're craving a good omelette or waffle, this is the place! It's tucked away in a shopping center off Panama and Stine and so easy to overlook, but once you try their breakfast, you'll want to go back.
