Linda Schofel is a lawyer with a "toxic" personality - someone who is so full of herself, she…read morecannot see when she is being conned. As an appointed GAL, she should have taken a fiduciary responsibility or at least do her due diligence and fact check all information related to a child custody case she was appointed to. She didn't do her job. She allowed a good looking man who could shoot someone in front of you and convince you he didn't do it to con her.* She took this man's word as the truth and never checked the facts. There were numerous court documents at her disposal, yet, instead of reading them, or even asking me about certain accusations, she played judge and jury based on one person's testimony. Hence, she turned a blind eye and didn't have a clue that she was being played. She put my child in the position of having to lie to her father out of fear! Fear of her father that she expressed to Schofel in private, yet she ignored this (actually, she said "people can change"). She "played" my daughter. Why? I will never know what she was thinking, so I can only guess that she was so taken by the con that she did what she could to find reason to put my daughter in the care of her father 50% of the time. Then I find out that that my ex, her father, was videotaping my daughter and got caught by the police. Just in case you want to check the facts, you can do an OPRA with the Andover Township NJ police department and request a copy of the report. The date is 12-15-2017 and the case number is I-2017-009488.** She will refute my review by saying I have anger issues. Let's go there. She unethically withheld information I provided to her from "my therapist." Yet, she chose to ignore the document (which was also included in a number of motions) and decided to tell the courts that I had anger issues and needed therapy. What was she basing her illegal(?) diagnosis on? I was angry that my divorce cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars. We should all celebrate spending exorbitant amounts of money when trying to divorce a Cluster B spouse, shouldn't we! Then again, I do believe she also took advantage and ended up billing her time on this case for "well over" $60,000 (well over). There is also the fact that as soon as my daughter turned 17 and got her car, she moved out of her father's house to live with me full time. Now, you may think, OMG, he must have made a stink about her no longer living with him after the fight he put up for 50% custody. Surely he asked her to continue spending 50% of her time with him. Surely he went to the courts to enforce a custody agreement. Surely you are kidding yourself. His fight was only about money. He just wanted to find a way to pay as little child support he could get away with. He NEVER ASKED HIS DAUGHTER TO COME BACK TO HIS HOUSE! "Hey, Schofel, I know you're reading this. What do you think about your ability to know what is in the child's best interest now?" There is so much more I can write about this attorney, but do you really need more to make your own decision? I have no reason to lie or exaggerate here. I do have a reason to try and help others who truly love their children and have a need to protect them in addition to wanting to make an informed decision before hiring or allowing this woman to be your attorney. I've no reason to lie. Thanks to Schofel, my daughter has no relationship with her father. Great job Schofel. You have succeeded at putting a teenager into a position she asked you not to put her in and ended up cementing another "toxic" relationship, between a father and child. *It is important to note that she will explain she is good at her job as a GAL because she is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. This is a grossly underqualified license for many highly litigious custody cases. ** I asked my daughter for permission to post this information. She is now emancipated and of age to make this kind of decision and has given me permission to do so.

They are more interested in protracted, high conflict, and billing clients for same. They are not responsive, rude, and extend what could ordinarily be a quick divorce in the best interests of their clients and families. Look elsewhere! Big, corporate treatment with their own bottom line being the first priority.
