I booked a massage for my friend and a fire and ice pedicure for myself to celebrate finishing the Disney Wine and Dine half marathon. The main reason I chose Mandara was its convenient location to our hotel (WDW Swan). The services and the providers were amazing! My friend loved her massage and my pedicure was awesome. I was even offered a glass of wine with my pedicure. But the general operations of the spa were a little chaotic. From booking the appointment--I was on hold for a really long time--to our departure where my friend's locker malfunctioned, everything seemed disorganized. I don't know if the spa is poorly managed, but it would add to the experience if the font desk staff made the check in and check out processes more relaxing. There are several spa options on the WDW campus and in the future, I might choose a different one to see if it's any better. read more

The only positive about this was the ability to get an appointment. Once my daughter arrived, she was told they weren't able to remove the shellac from her nails, nor were they able to repair one of her acrylic nails. All they were able to do was paint over her already painted nails with old polish that left her nails looking atrocious. All the while the mail tech, having acrylic nails, stated she got her nails done there at the salon. Our appointment was for a complete hour to accommodate the scheduled services. Two of my ladypals and I thought it would be fun to get pedicures/manicures on our first day at the Disneyland resort before we start our days at the parks, so we booked at the Mandara Spa. They only had two nail techs on, so we weren't able to get our nails done at the same time (we were given 2pm, 215pm, and 315pm). First, it's expensive. Like, REALLY expensive. I got the Fire & Ice Pedicure. That's $75 base price. The hot stones were okay, but I have no idea what the ice part was, or if it even happened. I asked for some nail art: red toenails with a black Mickey head on the big toes and black and white polka dots. The lady rushed through EVERYTHING and barely talked to me the entire time. She made a mess of one nail, which she redid, but the polka dots were still sloppy. Apparently they charge extra for "all the nail art" on a per nail basis, and then throw on a 20% AUTO GRATUITY on top of it (which applies to everyone whether you are a party of one or a party of three, etc). I paid $114 USD all in for the worst pedicure of all time. Hands down the most regretful purchase of my entire trip. The other girls I went with had polish come off their nails within a day. The quality just isn't there. :( The decor of the spa is nice, and they give you tea or cucumber water while you wait, which was probably the only good thing about this place. Save your money. Before I knew it I was with the doctor. I felt venerable and pushed. There was no discussion of cost. It was close to 4,000 dollars. I was appalled. Just had an amazing example of customer service happen today. My reservation somehow didn't show in their system even though I had gotten a confirmation number. The manager at first was going to give me a gift card to come back and get my service another time for free but then due to a last minute cancellation, the front desk person called me and got me in a couple hours later. I recently had a massage at the Mandara Spa in the Swan and Dolphin. The ambiance immediately had a relaxing effect on me and then my massage therapist Ali, came out to greet me and take me to my room. She was sweet and engaging from the time she met me. Her massage had the unique effect of being relaxing as well as therapeutic. She masterfully worked out my knots and tightness and I felt like a new person when she was done. She then guided me to the balcony where I enjoyed a cup of tea and basked in the sunshine. I felt pampered during the entire hour and begrudgingly left to face the real world more refreshed! As soon as I walked into the swan resort I was expecting an average spa with high Disney resort prices. To my surprise it turned out the complete opposite in most ways. Yes the prices aren't what you pay at nail salons but it's a spa and you kinda expect their services to be a bit pricier. The spa itself to me was a magical serene escape. With oriental decor and lots of openness made it a perfect day for relaxation. Their waiting lounge was well equipped with teas, coffee and a few edibles. Each massage room had its own private shower and some had a private jacuzzi. The locker rooms were very clean too with a nice steam room. The nail services staff was very friendly and kept on checking in on our comfort. The whole place was top notch when it came to class and style. Definitely very luxurious without the snotty attitude. There is wallet parking which is validated by the spa. I'd highly recommend this to parents or adults trying to take a break from the Disney madness. read more

Located at the Loew's Portofino Hotel but with no interior access. You do have to walk outside if I'm not mistaken. I passed by a lovely swimming pool surrounded by sand which was unique. I had to use the gym and was sorely disappointed that there's an additional $10 charge per visit to use the gym? The gym is decent though. I wanted to wind down so I checked out the rest of the facility. Typical steam rooms, locker room and a lounge area but nothing that blew me away. The front lobby area has a lot of nice products. Spas should give me that relaxing, blissful, pampered feel afterwards. I just wasn't feeling it here. read more

Mandara spa is the best spa you can find on Disney property. I went to senses last year and it was definitely not up to par. Mandara is beautifully decorated and has a great ambiance. They have only have a sauna no pools or hot tubs. They have tea and trail mix to snack on. They have two giant gorgeously decorated relaxation rooms with plenty of room. The seats and cushions are so cozy and relaxing. I got a pregnancy massage and it was wonderful. I was even able to order a burger and fries to the spa! Being able to order food so you can relax all day in the spa is the best! Highly recommend. Will come back! read more

I called in first to check on the schedule of massage therapist would be available for same day reservation they didn't have spot open but they put my name on the list just in case no show or any cancellation. Then for 2-3 hours I got a called from them that they can squeeze me in last minute yay!! Since I was in the area. Went in to enjoy the spa heated jacuzzi was a blessed, warm up relax then the girl name Anna guide me into the warm massage table cozy temperature room. I had a cold nature specially my hands and feet so she took bag of Paraben warm enough to make me soak into the moment and compete relax. She's really well trained and gave me a full rest walked out of the room feel like a noodle. In the locker room has dry and wet sauna to make sure after the session their customers could still enjoy the facility Helia - was the locker room attendant came up to me followed up with my massage along of offering wine or champagne to drink that come with strawberry wow !!! Which spa does that ! Helia was hand down caring her hospitality mindset is far beyond I would ask for. The dressing room , relaxing spot , complimentary drink was fantastic!!! The well manner respectful of all staff there were amazed me. And kept me smile for 3 days after. 2nd visit was even far beyond peaceful relax and professional handle by Wilson. I've gone to this location a few times. They have a nice Japanese meditation room and good service. I usually get the deep tissue massage and am always disappointed with the amount of pressure used or when elbows are used because the hand strength is not strong enough. This time, I was partnered with Bill/William. He was absolutely amazing! He knew where all of my pressure points were and really did a good job keeping steady and hard pressure the whole time. He kept my needs and trouble areas in mind the whole time. I got off the massage bed and wanted to melt into the ground. Definitely will be requesting him next time! read more

I would have given 5 stars, but I went with my husband and he did not enjoy his service as much as I did, although we paid for a deep tissue upgrade. Expectation: Fly in early to spend the day at a "luxury spa" with my friends Reality: Leaving the sad excuse for a "luxury spa" with stress hives down my legs and arms. I am staying at the resort for a corporate conference. I selected this spa for a luxury experience. Originally, I booked online with Hillary, however, due to an "online system scheduling error" appointments were moved around and my requested esthetician and time was switched. There were dirty towels thrown around the locker room, due to fact that the robe and towel bin was filled to capacity. The floors were soaked, at one point I was questioning if we were at a water park. I am surprised that I did not slip and fall in the massive puddles. The "luxury" robes were paper thin, I felt uncomfortable wearing them in a public Co-Ed setting. Also, the lack of staff led to an unbecoming spa ambiance. There were dirty glasses and plastic cups scattered around the "relaxation area." I received a massage which was AMAZING! The technician totally lived up to my experience, I finally felt relaxed. Everything went downhill the moment I embarked on what would be the most unpleasant journey for my facial with Yenifer. My teeth were chattering upon entering the room, I felt the bed and inquired if it was heated. I was told that it was indeed heated and that my cold temperature was odd because she was feeling hot..... 10 minutes later I inquired again, only to find out the heater for the bed was UNPLUGGED. Fast forward into the treatment, I provided a very detailed explanation of what I was looking for in terms of extractions. After just a few extractions I questioned her about using an extractor tool rather than her fingers which I found rather inefficient. I felt as though I was being talked down to when she crudely responded that she got everything I pointed out, she even exclaimed that other than 1 impurity the rest of my skin was clear (which was absolutely not the case) The towel was never even lifted off of my forehead to get that area or the area in between my eyes which I had specifically expressed concern about. In fact, the only area that was touched was my nose, I was told the other impurities were too deep to even try..... my chin, jawline my forehead and cheeks were left untouched during the extraction phase. *Note on my profile I specifically listed blackheads as the ONLY concern for my facial. I inquired about washing my face after the facial because there was white debris from the mask in my hair, up my nose and splattered across my face. If I could sum up this facial experience in one word, it would be "sloppy." I expressed my concerns to Sasha at check out and she immediately dismissed me. I get a facial at least once a month and I can confidently say this was the worst experience that I have ever had. I was truly excited for a relaxing day with my friends. I indicated that my stress level was an 8 on the questionnaire, after my treatment with Yenifer, it was a 10. I left feeling worse off then when I arrived. Had a Superfood facial and 50 minute massage. I got the Groupon special which also came with paraffin for the hands and feet. For booking my appointment for a weekday they upgraded for free with hot stones for the massage and Frangipani scalp treatment for the facial. Both services were wonderful. The spa itself is beautiful and tranquil. The spa facilities are nonexistent though. There are showers and a moist heat steam room big enough for one person but no whirlpool (which on the website it says it has) and no dry heat sauna. My first time at a spa, I decided to treat myself as I was staying at the Dolphin and had a relaxing pedicure with Paraffin treatment. My tech was Yenifer and she was wonderful. It is very relaxing and the staff were very attentive, loved the mimosa. The spa itself is beautiful and relaxing and nice break if you are going to the parks and need to relax. I will say that it is not cheap as it is a full spa but in my opinion it is worth it to treat yourself. Originally, this trip to Walt Disney World was supposed to be a "girls' vacation" for our little "Gang of Four" group of girls. However that was three years ago, before the new era of "I want to go to Disney with my 'man'", and the drama-llama's inability to save anything for the trip. Eh. Whatever. My best friend and I were still determined to go on this trip, and so we did. Although longer a "girls' vacay", we were still determined to do one "girly" thing (well, besides dinner in Cindy's Castle) in the spirit of which this trip was planned. So we booked tickets to the baseball game for the boys - and we took ourselves off to Mandara Spa for a day of pampering. Set in the huge, and tacky Swan and Dolphin Resort (no really, it's really tacky. The entire complex is PEACH AND SEA FOAM GREEN! There are 5 stories-tall fish, swans and clam shells all over this thing!), the Mandara Spa is definitely one of those spas that believe in "rejuvenation" and "zen-like serenity" and "relaxing". Yeah if you've ever met me, you would know that this Type-A girl doesn't relax. Ever. To quote my best friend's boyfriend "relaxing is counter-productive". Fortunately, I do love a good facial, so while my best friend got the Balinese massage with hot stones add-in, I got an oxygen facial. We arrive a early and check in. My friend's massage was at noon, and my facial was at 1 (although, I could have sworn I booked it for 12:30). No matter, we were there for an intense session of gossip and girly bonding. The locker room was small but clean, but the "waiting room" was marvelous! A small Thai-inspired gazebo was set up inside, with long benches covered in pillows. While the benches weren't terribly comfortable, there were delicious hot teas (I believe my friend may have yoinked a few tea bags as...uhhh..."souvineers"), and icy cold spring water with slices of lemon. In addition to the waiting room, there was a "relaxation room" for after your treatment, that was even more lovely, with chaise lounges, a balcony, and private jacuzzi spas. We sat and chatted hilariously until the masseuse was ready for her. I sat around in the waiting room reading an extremely poor selection of magazines (no Cosmo, Vogue, Elle, or WSJ!)...and waited and waited and waited. The host of the spa checked up on me a few times, but by 1:20, when I was still there waiting, I finally flagged someone down to find out what was going on. The staff were very apologetic and rushed to find out what happened to my appointment, but I have to say, I had been sitting in that waiting room for quite a while, and I wished that someone thought to check up me prior to this. It turns out that the person doing my facial was running late (I think she may have been in an accident - nothing too serious, as they were able to get her on the phone), and promptly set me up with someone else, and offered a 20% discount. By 1:45, I was escorted into one of the rooms for my facial. The lady that worked on me was wonderful. Soothing, calming, yet worked fast and efficiently, it was probably the best facial I've ever received! An hour later, I had the glowiest face in all the land! It was like a shiny beacon calling out to the world. Or something. Up to this point, I would have given it a 4 star review - not even holding the delay in my appointment against them (these things happen), however, two things made me downgrade this to a 3 star experience. First, while my facial was great, at the end of it the nice lady that was working on me, recommended some products. I hate this part of any treatment, but whatever, it's a necessary evil, and I try to convey as nicely as possible, that I'm not really interested. She kindly suggests that she will leave her recommendations at the front desk for me should I decide to purchase these products. I thought that this was rather tactful, however when I got to the front desk to pay, the receptionist that was ringing me up, made me feel about *this* small for not buying two $80 6oz. tubes of cleanser. Secondly, and more upsetting was the tipping policy. The lady that worked on me was great. I was probably going to give her a 18% - 20% tip for being so enjoyable. However, upon paying, the front desk lady tells me that they automatically tack on an additional 20% tip to the bill. Automatically. This was not a large or private party where I could see this making sense. This was just one person, with one treatment. The facial itself was already $160, and they wish to add in an automatic 20% tip?!? I also saw nothing about this policy on their website, nor was there any signage about the automatic 20% tip until you pay. I feel that this was very shady and not very classy for such a nice spa. Eh. All in all, the facial and the atmosphere was lovely, however the front desk attitude and the automatic tip policy made this lovely experience into something shady and unpleasant. read more

Oh man do I hate this place. We made reservations for a Couples Ritual for our honeymoon about 6 months in advance. Called to confirm 7 days prior to arrival. Showed up and were informed that: 1. The couples tub was under construction. 2. There was no other service we could book in its place to pass the 90 minutes before our scheduled massage. 3. There were no showers, restrooms or robes for my husband. Intended plans: Sit in cozy robes with new husband, soak in a hot tub, get massage. Real life: Sit in our jeans staring at lotions for sale and tiny Buddhas. I have two specific complaints...first, when I called to confirm, you could have mentioned that "I have you confirmed for the Couples Ritual, but we have no tub...would you like to book something else?" Don't just let me show up! Second, the employee was not even slightly apologetic. Of our 11 day vacation, the Mandara Spa was my one regret. It was an expensive waste of time. 1st: Yes they do add 20% tip to your bill. Keep in mind this is Disney, and people travel from all over the world. Europeans are cheap. Even the rich ones don't tip. This is fairly typical for a spa in a hotel located in a tourist area. Price: Very expensive for the services, however the atmosphere is great and well kept. Its much more than a fluorescent lit massage room where it only costs $80 per hour. Booked a Balinese massage on 2 separate occasions for about $120 for 50 mins. (plus 20% tip) Therapists were excellent and professional. They took care of sensitive or sore areas, making sure I was comfortable. Some therapists just push harder in areas that are tight and hurt you. I'm no wuss, but I want to be relaxed. If I want sports massage, I'll go to my gym therapist for $60 an hour. Overall it was a nice experience. The different waiting rooms and post-therapy rooms are relaxing. You can just sit in a lounge chair for as long as you want after your massage. Bonus - *** The locker room has a Eucalyptus steam bath. It was a light steam and the room wasn't too hot. It really cleared me out. They gave me aroma therapy during the whole massage as well. read more

My boyfriend and I went to the Mandara Spa for a couples massage on Valentine's Day. We were promptly checked in and led back to the locker room. Our attendant showed up around the spa. He told us where we could wait and relax, told us how to use the locker combination, and where to get our robes and slippers. The spa is really beautiful. I loved the first room, but it was not as comfy since the chairs had wooden backs, but it was darker so that is where we waited for our service. They had tea, juice, and citrus water for you to consume while you waited. Our masseuses were Sarah (me) and Kim (him). They took us to the couples massage room and got us set up. Sarah did an excellent job, though my preference is to start laying on my back so that I finish the massage on my neck and shoulders which is the spot I really want. We started face down, so we ended with neck and scalp. Don't get me wrong. That's nice too, just not my preference. My boyfriend said Kim gave him the best massage he's ever had in his life. So, there you go. After our massage, we relaxed I the other room with the big cushy pillows and I drank a cup of delicious hot tea. We then returned to the locker rooms where we showered and changed for the rest of our day. The locker rooms were well equipped with a steam room, 3 showers, shampoo, conditioner, shower get, lotion, razors, combs, and a blow dryer. The products were very nice, except for the razors and combs. They were very cheap, but I guess I can't expect too much since they are really for one time use, but I have been to spas that had nicer razors and combs. You should've seen me trying to get that teeny tiny comb through my thick wet hair. It was an experience for sure. My real complaint about the spa and the reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the noise. The couple's massage room is next to a room with a Jacuzzi and I could hear the loud roar of the Jacuzzi and the tub filling and draining my entire service. This was incredibly distracting and really screwed with my zen. If I go back to Mandara I will most definitely request a room nowhere near the Jacuzzi room or I will be the one in the Jacuzzi room. read more

Worst manicure and pedicure I've ever gotten! I wanted to treat myself and my friend after finishing the Wine & Dine half marathon (and to celebrate her 30th birthday) and I was so disappointed. The manicurist painted over my cuticles, didn't use a top coat and left nail polish all over my skin. Plus, she trimmed my cuticles when I asked her not to. It's now a day later and everything is chipped and cracking. Certainly not what I expected after paying $312 - talk about highway robbery!!! I was forced to tip 20 percent, too. On the plus side, the spa itself is nice and the staff is all very friendly. However, if you're going to spend hundreds of dollar, I would suggest finding another place. There are plenty of great spas in the area, so don't waste your time at Mandara. read more

Was at the Swan for a conference and about a week prior to my stay I got an email that said '$50 off any spa service' and so my boss and I decided to get a couple of the 'Mandara Foot Rituals' because why not, we're on mini vaca! So I call at 9am, make 2 appts for 1pm and we get down there about 1250pm. Nobody else was in line so the girl gets our info (she was training someone else), we tell her what we are there for and she hands us a little questionnaire and tells us to have a seat. We finish with our form and go back up to the desk and mention the $50 credit. She said 'ok you're with the conference right? Ok we will take the $50 off at the end'. Woo. So after an hour of an amazing pedicure with 2 really sweet ladies we go cash out. The girl at the desk puts in our services and then says 'ok, 20% off for your stay and then there's a 20% service charge for the spa'...hmm...so I mention the credit and she's like 'oh, not for THAT service, it needs to be a facial, massage or like a spa service' Well, I'm in SPA and just got a SERVICE, if I'm not mistaken. So I tell her 'you just told us that we would get $50 off our service, and you confirmed it before we went in' and then she said 'well it's been a busy morning and I didn't say that. I didn't even look up what you were getting' excuse me? Lol. So with some back and forth bullsh** banter she goes to get the manager who comes out, takes the $50 off each of our bill, doesn't say a WORD to either of us and goes back behind the wall. Meanwhile the other girl never even came back out. I've dealt with some childish people before but she was the worst. You're busy so you can't be bothered to look at what service I'm getting? Certainly that can't be my fault, or can it? Because that's how she made us feel. We have a Mandara locally where we live and I will be damned if I let anyone I know ever go there for anything. If you're located in a hotel in DISNEY WORLD maybe you should hire people who actually give a crap about the people that walk in there. read more

Went to the Manara Spa for a pre-disneyland pedicure with my lady pals. When I called and booked they told me they did nail art. My pedicure was pretty good and my tech gave a great foot massage, but the nail art afterwards wasn't great. It looked really nice, but most of it wiped off within a few hours. I think she forgot to put top coat on? It was VERY expensive for what we got. My two other friends got very sub par nail art as well. While there are a ton of rough reviews on here, I suppose I have to consider the crowd. I have never been to a real spa experience before. Reading some of these reviews left me wondering if a Sauna and Jacuzzi would have been a nice addition. I'm sure it would have been. To start, the receptionists are neither friendly, but also not pushy to get you into more services. I guess you pick and choose your battles. I got a great deal, which was 3-25 min services ( back massage, foot massage, and basic facial) for $129. It was a special, and I doubt they run it often. I was escorted to the ladies room by a male, so he explained everything outside the door and left me to walk myself through. I didn't realize till after the services what door was the steam room. The amenities were nice though. My massage was by a gentlemen named Bill, and he was wonderful. I recommend you ask for him. He wasn't what I was expecting, and that was perfectly fine, because he wasn't chatty so I was able to totally relax and not feel like I needed to make small talk. Denise did my facial, which was also great. I loved the relaxation spaces, though I do understand the concern about comfortable sitting and the brightness of the more comfortable space. I say this is a spa for novice, and if you can get a good deal, is a must. I wouldn't pay 400+ for their services though. Also note, that the tip is included in the final total. I was going to actually tip more, because Bill was great, but the receptionist said I was not able to via my card. read more

I booked this place since I am in a wedding in two days and I have no time to get a Mani between my flight and rehearsal dinner. I will say this place was very welcoming and the ambiance was very nice. My nail tech Adeline was Extremely nice and lovely to talk to. She was very thorough with my nails and it was the best Mani I've had in a long time. The Polish closer to my cuticles is a bit Ricky but cant tell unless looking real close. I'm so happy that I found out the services I was supposed to get before I arrived so I could cancel/switch some because I can't imagine being more disappointed. I've called and emailed twice about the incident but haven't gotten in touch with anyone. On my birthday I arrived right on the dot for the start of my appointment. Instead of saying, you're losing time let's get you started, 15 minted goes by and some girl comes up and goes "SHES LATE!" while we're standing here. My husband could have finished figuring out what other services to get. NBD! The masseuse tells me she'll give me paraffin to make up for lost time. Sure, still not mad. The lady at the desk had told us her gel manicure lasted 3 weeks! So my husband and I both got ours nail done. But his immediately peeled off. We went to Mandara Spa yesterday at the end of our Disney World vacation. My husband and I both scheduled 50 minute deep tissue massages. I have all sorts of back issues and massage has always been extremely helpful with my lower back pain. I've had MANY massages and never have I had a deep tissue massage like the one William gave me! He used the perfect amount of pressure in all the right places and even hit spots I've never had massaged before like my knee joint. Do yourself a huge favor. If you are going to Mandara Spa, make sure to ask for William. read more

I was slated to stay at the Loews for a conference I had in Orlando last week. I figured I'd book a little "me" time into the trip and so I scheduled a long afternoon at the spa. Once I arrived, I was ushered into my facial, and while relaxing, the technician upsold me to another facial for "deep moisturizing" treatments. While I had no problem with the $50 upcharge (if it actually did anything), I walked out of there feeling like someone had rubbed my face for 50 minutes but not much else. I then got a mani/pedi, and while I wanted a french manicure/pedicure, there were additional upcharges to consider. I asked for a shellac to be done to my nails, and was told there wasn't enough time for that. So let me pay you $60 or so dollars, and only get a manicure that's going to last for 3 days. Then when you check out, they try to sell you all the crap they used on you during your treatments. Not likely on top of that 20% required gratuity. I get back to my room only to discover I still had stuff left on my face from my facial and now my skin is peeling. Not any type of moisturization overload there at all, nor any noticible difference that I even just wasted a ton of money on a facial that apparently did nothing but harm my skin. Never going back, and if you think you'll be relaxed or happy with your experience, think again. read more

I never actually went to this spa and I'll tell you why. I had the most frustrating customer service experience with the spa front desk ever. Their menu online is different from the one they advertise on the Disney experience account. And when they told me that they said to call back later. That was perhaps the worst customer service I've ever had a spa in the entire world and I travel to spas every other week. read more

First off, I would give no stars but they gave me back my full refund so I'll give 1 star. I just went this Monday for Brazilian wax and have never been so appalled by a spa experience. I've had multiple extended bikini and Brazilian waxes before coming here. My waxer did not know what purple wax was so it was just hot wax and strips. I thought the wax felt a buy hot but it wasn't unbearable so j didn't say anything at the time. 20 minutes later when I got back to my hotel, I noticed that I had what looked like dark blood blisters on both sides of my groin. I called as soon as I noticed to tell them and once they realized this wasn't my first wax that offered a full refund. After getting in the shower later, I noticed she left half the hair at the bottom and the top looked like peeling skin from a second degree burn. Needless to say, walking around the parks has been very uncomfortable. read more

Came out for a first time spa date. Did the mani pedi and customized massage. The staff was amazing. Very friendly and polite. However the rates are a bit on the higher end for the services. The mani was over priced especially since the next day my nails were starting to chip. My sister gel (aka shellac) nails also began chipping the following day. No idea why or how that could happen. We were on vacation and don't pick at them either. I wouldn't go back for the mani. The pedi were both very good and the massage was very nice and relaxing. 50 minutes isn't enough time but it did do the trick for the first time going to a spa. read more

Avoid this place at all costs! We went here for our honeymoon for what was supposed to be a special occasion and were severely let down. We were using the Disney transportation and did our part to try to be there early. We had planned to get there 15-20 minutes early, so we were at our bus stop to the Dolphin 50 minutes before our appointment start time. It probably took 30 minutes before a bus even came and then our driver decided to make another stop at Downtown Disney and switch with another driver, which took forever and probably close to 15 minutes. And then the new driver we had was slow and didn't seem like he had any idea what he was doing. In any case this isn't the fault of the spa obviously, but we ended up being late to the appointment. I know that the Dolphin isn't a Disney owned resort, but the hotel still uses resort transportation and is located in a theme park area, so you would think the spa would be a little more understanding of people who are late to their appointment, because there are legitimate factors that can delay you at WDW. I know it wasn't their fault, but it wasn't our fault either that we had poor transportation on account of the WDW resort. We had thought we were going to be early, so when we ended up showing up 20 minutes late we were a little upset. The staff here didn't care at all. They were actually pretty rude and told us to hurry up, because our appointment would be cut short. I understand that this is the way general spas operate, but I was at the very least expecting them to show a little bit of sympathy, especially for being located on the Disney property. It was even our honeymoon, so I had even hoped they would cut us some slack and possibly even give us a little more time, but we had no such luck. We got charged for the entire amount for a couples massage, which wasn't even that good to be honest. What was also unbelievable was that we got charged an automatic tip for the full session even though we only got a half session. There is certainly no reason for that. I understand if the spa is going to charge us, but there is no justification for a full tip, especially when the people we had were clearly rushing and did a sloppy job. Seriously, this place was just a nightmare all around and it gets worse. After our couples massage we had a pedicure scheduled. So we figured we would at least get a nice pedicure even though our massage and scalp treatment was far less than satisfactory. They told us to wait in the little room with couches and chairs that they have until somebody comes to get us for the pedicure. Well guess what? We ended up waiting 20 minutes, which significantly cut into our time that we paid for. How ridiculous! If we show up late we get penalized, but this spa takes no responsibility when it is their mess up. The lady who found us told us she had been looking for us in the lobby in front for awhile, which wasn't our fault as we were told to wait in the exact room we were sitting in. Plus you would think the people doing the pedicure would have a way to find out that we were in the facility already. I timed the length of our pedicure and it was just over 30 minutes. When my wife looked it up online she was under the impression that it was supposed to be an hour, but when we got the sheet at the spa it said it was 45 minutes, so at the very least we should have got a 45 minute pedicure. If they wanted to fault us for being late for the couples massage then there is no excuse that they should be late themselves. When we got the bill I couldn't believe how expensive this place was. Trust me, you don't even want to know just how much they charge, because it isn't on par with the services they provide. Also, I don't know if it was because the people we had performing the services felt they had to rush, but the service we received was lousy and not worth the tip they collected off us. Keep in mind that this was also supposed to be for a honeymoon too. Not that we ever expect anything, but many of the other places we visited at Walt Disney World provided us with some special perk or did something to make our trip extra magical. At a spa you would think there are numerous things they could do even if its something really small to make their guests celebrating special occasions have an awesome experience, but Mandara Spa did absolutely nothing for us and barely even acknowledged it. Not only did they also not cut us any slack, but they ended up being late on performing our services, which I really did not appreciate. To any other WDW honeymooners I recommend looking elsewhere for a spa. The only good thing I have to say about this place is that the facility looks pretty good and seems like a nice place to rest. I wouldn't know though, because our whole experience there was stressful and the staff was unhelpful and cold. I would not recommend the Mandara Spa to anybody and I won't be back. read more

I want to be fair so I'm giving this 3 stars. I am still disappointed tho. Valentine's Day weekend we decided to splurge and spend the day at the spa here. I called and booked ahead of time and asked specific questions.. Spending over 300$ on something like this is a big deal for people like me. I read something about being able to spend time in the jacuzzi and asked and they confirmed it.I came to the spa with my boyfriend and was so excited for our experience. It started of rocky when they didn't have any sandals that fit me. I am a 9 so it's not like it's a crazy size. Half my foot was out.. It was a courtesy so I let it go. Then I asked where the jacuzzi was... And everyone looked at me like I was crazy. I told them I saw online about the jacuzzi and specifically asked when I booked but the girls seemed almost annoyed that I was questioning them. They said I could book the bathtub for 75$ an hour and that the jacuzzi was at the one at universal. They spoke in the most unconcerned and unapologetic manner. The tea they offer is nice. Our massages were great! I never had one before and it was wonderful. In the end the product was nice but the experience wasn't. I believe customer service is worth more than anything. I felt so unappreciated and like I was being made fun of. Sadly I don't think I'll be back ever again or recommend this place solely on the rude ladies that work the front desk. read more

I went to this spa for an eyebrow wax (which was about $35 if I remember). The service itself was nice, but I was very disappointed with the customer service of the front desk. I needed to change my appointment time and I kept calling and calling and no one would answer the phone. Also, when it was time to pay, the credit card machine wasn't working. Good thing I had cash because it's not like there are ATMs all around the Dolphin Hotel. Overall, I wouldn't recommend going to this spa until management steps up. read more
