The esthetic and decor was very nice and the place offered free wifi that worked great. The coffee was decent for Mexico City, I ordered a cappacino which came too hot and tasted faintly burned. My friend ordered a chemex which he thought was excellent. If you are visiting San Angel and looking for a coffee shop I think this a very good option that is a local business and offer quality coffee.

There are plenty of other places to eat in the neighborhood, but we saw Maque Café with its outdoor seating near a fountain and among numerous trees and we were sold. The menu is simple and clean (with items leaning towards European while still having Mexican cuisine options) with lots of healthier options. I ordered a chicken breast stuffed with goat cheese in a tamarind sauce with some healthy grains and steamed vegetables. It was exactly the kind of light dish I hoping for, and I really enjoyed it with a freshly squeezed juice and a coffee. The service was good, and it was just a lovely place to enjoy a meal in San Ángel - the kind of place I'd love to sit with a book and relax for a few hours! I'd be happy to return.

They had a good selection for drinks but I can say I just chose wrong in ordering a Bloody Mary with tequila instead of vodka. It was not that good. I had what would be considered chicken tacos. They were fine. I think my experience suffered due to being there around brunch time but not having a taste for what I consider a small menu. But the place is gorgeous and if you can order the to go t thing, you'd love it. The eight of us just failed to do so.
