Quesadilla with chapulines

The 2nd of the Groupa Rosanegra restaurants for me to try & it was quite spectacular. Our server Luis was excellent & I appreciated that the floor manager comes around to check on you. The hamachi ceviche was so fresh and light. The grilled octopus was the best I've had down here. I enjoyed the lady who sang as well - she has a beautiful voice. Very cool vibes and definitely a good night of food & entertainment.

2nd time back and loved it just as much! The corn soup duo changed my life. So was the seabass soup of the day. Mushroom quesadillas or tiny and rubbery. The bday candles girls were all super models! Less crazy hectic than Rosa Negra and way better food and service!

Everytime I come out to Cancun I always venture out and try restaurants in the area that have good reviews and good vibes. After reviewing what people said and looked at pictures decides to come here and check it out. Location - Great location on the main st not too far from the hotel main area or downtown. Transportation - Took a cab here and I believe the fare was 10-15 bucks it seems steep for the shirt ride but whatevers. Venue - Place is connected to another hip restaurant and they have a nice main entrance with the decor that's amazing and gives you that high end exclusive feel. View of the beach are amazing and they also have a firework shows that's a must. They have singers, shows, dj and the vibe is great and gets you in the party mood. Service - Great service as everyone is always on top of things and glad to assist you. Food - Some of the items are ok, but for the most part the main dish was good, looked with shrimp and a good size. Drinks - Great presentation, great taste and good liquor. Prices - Fair for the kind of establishment Overall this is a great place and highly recommend it.

Food is amazing. Service is very friendly. Ambience was not perfect because they had no air conditioning so we ate while sweating buckets. Such a fancy, chic restaurant should have AC at least during summer, 100 F is not comfortable when eating. They offer a show with live music and it's very good quality. We would have enjoyed more if we were not desperate to leave because of the heat.

Service and attentiveness is unbelievable. Marco took care of us for our anniversary and made it a special evening. The drinks were delicious as well as the food was plenty and flavorful. I wish we could have tasted more dishes but our full stomachs couldn't indulge anymore. The live female singer was also a special entertainment. Please come and enjoy the view and food

Run don't walk. If you're in Cancun, Mamazzita is a must! Every single item we ordered was so delicious. Can't recommend this enough.

This place is absolutely spectacular!! From the drinks, the food, ambiance and customer service it exceeded ALL of my expectations. I called earlier and they had availability to accommodate me. When I arrived I checked in with the host and was led to the restaurant. You walk through this beautiful area and then we were seated. The table was right next to the water so I was ecstatic. The started us off with their "bread", which was pork rinds, four different sauces and cheese. It was super yummy! We ordered the guacamole, lobster quesadilla, and wagyu meatballs as appetizers. Everything was divine!!! The staff was very attentive to us and our needs. The managers came by and it made us feel very welcomed. For dinner we ordered steak tacos, grilled octopus, ribeye, and the grilled lobster. The grilled lobster was so buttery and tender, one of the BEST lobsters I've ever had. The octopus was filled with so much flavor! It even came with a little avocado salad on the side which was delightful. The ribeye came out sizzling and buttery. The steak tacos packed flavor in every bite. It was all in all a 10/10 experience. I can not wait to come back. Worth it!!!!

I don't say this lightly but this was a 10/10 dining experience in all aspects. We first went to Fred's down the street but it wasn't giving the vibes and caliber we were looking for, so we left abruptly and came to Mamazzita. From the initial moment entering you feel like you are transported to another "bohemian" world. We decided to dine at Mamazzita and we were not disappointed. First of all, the restaurant is sitting on a beautiful lagoon so the views are stellar. Second, the service goes above and beyond to make it a fun and exciting experience for the diners. There was a performer singing and dancing all night and she was absolutely phenomenal. Even the tortilla chips and dip brought to the table were elevated, it came with multiple salsas and cheese, I've never had chips and dip like that before. I ordered the whole fish branzino...one word, mouthwatering. The fish was cooked perfectly and came with tortilla. I would recommend anyone to come here if visiting Cancun, you will not be disappointed.

Tres Leche Cake

One of the Rosa Negra Restaurants in Cancun. We had lunch at Mamazita's. Tortilla Soup, Short Rib Tacos and table side guacamole were terrific. Pico de gallo salad was good, but I would try something different next time. Service was over the top. Thanks to Ramon, Carlos, Brandon & Micaela for memorable service and conversation. Thanks also to Kareem, who manages the team. And don't forget desert. Their Tres Leches cake was the best that we have ever had.

In the past this place has always been a staple for us, but each year we go we like it a little less. This year majority of the group was disappointed in the entire experience from the service to the food. To start, the service was lacking compared to what we get at other local restaurants nearby. Our servers did not frequently come back to ask if we needed anything and we were constantly having to ask to get our waters refilled. The drinks are good, but nothing we can't get elsewhere. Half of our group enjoyed (but not loved) their food and half did not enjoy. My SO and I split the al pastor meal. In the past we have loved this, but this time it felt like they rushed to make it and the flavors we remembered just weren't there. It was still good, but I think it could have been better. I do love the churro cart here, but you can get good churros several other places. Overall, this place has gone downhill in our opinion, and for the price it isn't worth it when there so many better options close by. I'm sure we will be back, but I think we might skip a year stopping here.

But be careful of the crocodilo... of course, it's by the lagoon. The place itself is clean.. and the lagoon is clear water too. Now the food... it's as simple as, I can dine in this place everyday! It's not that expensive but the presentation, the service and the taste is like a 5-star fine dining restaurant. Even the drinks! I ordered their clam chowder (you can see in the attached video on how they served it), lobster tail wrapped with bacon, my hubby ordered salad (which was also excellent presentation), and steak. Let's not forget the chips that is on the house with 3 different taste buds sauces... tamarind (sweet), avocado (salty) and chipotle (spicy). Love love love! I should say, your visit in Cancun is not complete without visiting this excellent restaurant!

Many of the dishes have strange ingredients that the regular gringo hasn't heard of, which makes this even more exotic! I consider myself a mexican food expert, to some degree, and they're serving dishes that are so inventive, so wild, so fresh, so delicious! The dining area is split between a covered outside area, and seating on the grass overlooking the lagoon. Be careful, there's alligators in there! The service was fantastic- the waiter was patient, spoke English, and made excellent recommendations. I got fish with peppers, octopus ceviche, and some mezcal, followed by a honey and anise Mayan drink. All of which were delicious! My dining companion had a strange pepper with some fish- also nom! Coming here was like a history cuisine lesson, mixed with delicious food, wonderful scenery and a pleasant meal! My favorite part of this place is the artwork when you come in. I saw so many videos and read so much hype about this place. I was excited to try it. I was just as disappointed when I threw out my burrito after a couple of bites. The food here is not good. It is so basic. I ordered chili cheese fries, and a burrito. For the burrito, you have to complete a form for your customizations, which I thought was going to be efficient. Unfortunately, despite my burrito, having everything in it that it was supposed to, I was overwhelmed by the massive amount of onions. Additionally, I was underwhelmed by the amount of shrimp inside my burrito. There weren't many at all and the entire burrito literally tasted like nothing. I ordered the shrimp and mahi. There was absolutely nothing remarkable about it. For a second, I almost wondered if I had Covid because the flavor was so lacking. But after speaking to friends of mine who also visited, I realized that I wasn't the only one. In total, I spent about US$32 on an order of chili cheese fries, a jerk, chicken, quesadilla, and a burrito. Fries: so bland. I wanted to throw them out, but I saved them and took them back to my hotel and added salt. It helped a bit, but these were overwhelmingly underseasoned and lacking flavor. The portion, however, was huge. Two out of five. Burrito: more mahi-mahi than shrimp, and neither protein was flavorful. The entire burrito was very bland and was full of more onions than I would ever care to eat. The burrito wasn't OK size, but it did not taste good. Two out of five. Jerk, chicken quesadilla: basic. Not super flavorful. And the chicken did not taste like jerk chicken at all. It didn't even have jerk flavor. Didn't even taste like they rolled the chicken in a little bit of jerk before cooking it. Three out of five. The staff noticed that I did not eat much of my food and asked if I didn't like it. I informed them that I did not like it and that I didn't think it had enough flavor. They did not care. I didn't fully expect them to because I know customer service is very different in Mexico, but I expected more. She even asked if the burrito was too spicy, which was hilarious because there was nothing spicy or even flavorful about it. This is very much a hole in the wall, kind of spot that has been blown up on social media. Very casual vibes, and there appears to be a small roof area where you can overlook the street. I would not return here. I also would not recommend it. Another example of influencers likely getting free food in exchange for review reviews. However, they do have a sign up that says you can get a free shot if you leave a review.
