RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 4 | Service: 3 | Ambiance: 3 | Price: 2 PARKING Free street parking. LOCATION/AMBIANCE It's not difficult to find anything in Jal since it's such a small town. When you walk in, just find a seat where you like. It's a relatively large dining room with several sizes of tables. It has some Mexican vibes as well as Mexican cuisine on their menu, but they also serve American fare. THE GRUB - Complimentary chips and salsa: the chips were a bit overcooked for my liking + Cheeseburger and homemade fries: hit the spot. The fries lacked flavor, though. + Shrimp fajitas: my daughter had these and they were quite good. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB They have a very weak kid's menu. It had only three lunch items on it and one for breakfast. SERVICE On 1/14/2024, service was slow getting to us even though they didn't seem that busy in the dining room. Our waitress was nice, however, there were a couple of patrons nearby that had their phones turned up incredibly loud playing Spanish & some English music, videos, etc. This was a ginormous phone not of the Apple variety. No wonder it was loud. Lol. At no point were they ever asked to turn it down even though no one at our table could hear one another. There was no background music on Nana's intercom. Just the extremely silent volume of NFL updates on their tv near the window. MY FAVORITE PART... The cheeseburger. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The rude patrons who sat with their cell phones turned up full blast long after they were finished with their meal. TIP They have a Brian Norwood mural on one of their walls. It's absolutely beautiful -- it's a painting of "The Trail Ahead" sculpture he created just north of town.

We were on the way to Wink, TX from Eunice, NM. We were starving. We knew about the row of food…read moretrailers on Hwy. 18 and decided to try one of them (first time). My husband ordered a hamburger, and I ordered a steak quesadilla. I wanted tamales but was told they didn't have any. They really don't have a menu, just some faded signs with no prices on the outside of the trailer, so we asked what all they had. We ordered our food not knowing the cost for any item. We were told the price of $24.00 for the hamburger, steak quesadilla, and two Mexican Cokes!! We were shocked at the expensive price! We waited about 10 minutes for the food. When the order was ready, we realized the food came with fries and a jalapeño. It STILL wasn't worth $24.00. The hamburger was very light-weight and was like one you would get at a concession stand at a ball game, not a restaurant. The Mexican Cokes were not cold and needed a bottle opener to open them, so I had to walk back to the food trailer and ask them to open them for us. The quesadilla was good but didn't come with salsa, and we weren't offered any. The food wasn't bad, just not worth $24.00!!

A bowl of noodle soup showed up instead of chips and salsa. (Can't say that I'm mad at that). The soup had a nice amount of spice. Got the beef and chicken enchiladas a side of corn and charro beans. After I ordered food came out in about 10 minutes. Very happy as to the wait. I normally don't care for corn tortillas for my enchiladas, but there was so much flavor that I didn't mind. The beans were good however didn't care for the "extras" with them. Was expecting a corn nibblet for my side and was pleasantly surprised with a whole ear of corn. Onion, cilantro, limes and hot sauce come on the side as does a cup of consommé for dipping. Round that out with a glass bottle of Mexican Coke and you've just tasted heaven one cheesy layer at a time. We enjoyed our tacos and Coke's outside. They have several tables and chairs under a large metal awning. As some of the other reviews mentioned the prices are a little high but the quality and quantity of food that you get makes it worth every penny. Now go and get you some!
