We were a party of 6 for my parents anniversary last night. I wish I remembered the waiters name (45 ish year old gentleman). I think his name was Greg (off my bill). He Attended to our every need. Dishes were rigatoni Bella Vita (with bay scallops, lobster, shrimp in a cream sauce), stuffed shrimp and pork is osso bucco from the specials. We also had their hot antipasto combo for the table. WOW!!! My family's been coming here for years and we are NEVER disappointed! My go to is the Chicken Francese with a side of Cavatelli with Pesto Crema. Everything is cooked perfectly, including the pasta (al dente, just as it should be). We went tonight with a party of 8, Danny was on point, friendly and funny as well. There are plenty of options on their menu so I have no doubt they can cater to even the most complex palate. Also, the ambiance is the perfect balance of flirty yet modest so it's a wonderful setting for a date night or Sunday dinner with the family. However, the menu can sometimes be challenging to read due to the dim lighting to enhance the aforementioned ambiance. I have not been to Mama's in over ten years. And I don't see myself going back in the foreseeable future. Meeting a friend for lunch., we found the place empty. I ordered the Rigatoni with Chicken and Roasted Garlic. It arrived within minutes which always scares me a bit. It was beyond tasteless. No seasoning whatsoever. None. Nada. I never put salt or pepper on my food when I dine out because well, my food isn't tasteless. Now, I did lie when the waiter (I believe his name was Greg) came by to ask if our meal was ok. Gotta work on telling the truth when it comes to bad food. I addition, our water glasses were NEVER filled. I had to ask to have our dishes removed. Again, the place was empty. My girlfriend and I come here a few times a month. I have to say the staff are always so Friendly and welcoming. Food is always good but tonight I unfortunately I had a bad dish. I got the chicken ala mama. When i got The food the spinach was completely raw. In the photo you can see I just pushed all the raw spinach to the side. I'm not to sure if this is how the dish was supposed to be but raw spinach on top of hot chicken doesn't really seem that appetizing. Maybe sautéed would be better. This rating is for Kim, she is the best waitress at Mama's! I have had her as my server multiple times and she always take care of her customers. She works swiftly, refilling drinks, taking care of kids first, bringing out plates and utensils, and remembering order substitutions. Kim is fun, friendly, sweet, and hard working! I love going to Mama's because of Kim!!! The food is OK, I will say not the best Italian around. They have a great Monday Pasta special which includes salad, pasta dish, coffee/tea and cheesecake for dessert. I have tried many dishes over my visits and the best I've had would have to be the sausage or meat sauce. Many of their sauces come out much too watery like their Mama's sauce. I wish they would fix this because their dishes have so much potential. Garlic knots also come with the pasta special and those are always yummy. Balsamic house dressing is delicious but very filling. Overall, Mama's dishes could use some improvements. Food does not alway come out hot (lasagna), pasta sauce WAY too watered down, and more flavor in the vodka sauce. On the other hand, their server Kim is a delight and very kind. Their pizza has also been delicious. I hope they will take in to consideration some of these concerns. read more

This is a place that my wife has always wanted to try but we do not feel like waiting a hour at night time to get in. We were in the neighborhood for lunch on a week day and the place was empty so we got a seat right away. The lunch menu is pretty diverse and has lots of options to choose from. I went with the short ribs with mushrooms and risotto and my wife had the chicken wrap with salad, they also bring out some garlic knots for the table. The knots were so fluffy and airy and the best I ever had. The risotto came out and the short ribs were super tender and the risotto had tons of flavor just wished it had more mushrooms. My wife's wrap she said was amazing and flavorful. Only down sides here is that you have to pay for soda refills and they charge more if you are paying card!! Who does this still. We just had a ladies night out during Thursday Chicken night and could not have been more satisfied. Each of us got the $17.95 special with garlic knots, house salad, chicken entree and NY cheesecake (no substitutions) and coffee/tea. The garlic knots are perfectly crisp on top and soft inside. The house salad was a salad, nothing special, nothing wrong with it. I ordered the chicken alla vodka over penne and ate only one out of the FOUR pieces of mozzarella covered deliciousness. Took the cheesecake home. No one had a bad word to say about their meal. I'd love to see a shot of espresso on the chicken special instead of or alongside as an included drink option. read more

The last time I went to Mamas I said it was the last. The food totally changed from when Grace owned it. My son was bugging me for his pasta with red sauce that he's been getting since a toddler(he is now 12). All I can say is never again ,the sauce was terrible ,sour and not what it should taste like. Not to mention it was double the price of the last time we were there. My food also was terrible,tasting nothing like it used to. My chicken was salty and burnt,with no offer to take it off the bill i paid and we walked out. Basically it's a totally different restaurant but they kept the name Mamas. read more

This place a beautiful decor with a mix of private booths and open seating which are good options depending on your mood. My waitress Michelle was very hospitable and charming and gave me a rundown of the specials. The options range in price as well. I ended up drinking the Tequila Baybreeze which was very good and my entree was the North Fork which was savory and delicious. BYOAC! This place is HOT! And I do mean temperature hot! Had a reservation for about thirty people on Saturday afternoon and it was just a miserable time. It was so damn hot that I went to one of the stores and purchased a thermometer. Yes as you can see it was nearly 90 degrees as we ate. I guess one plus would be that we sweat the calories off as fast as we consumed them. Most of the party was 50-70. It turned into a real health concern for some. The party was a set menu and maybe three people were able to stay for coffee and desert so that was not eaten. Being in food service for more than 30 years I do not take pleasure in leaving any negative comments but this was very disappointing. Not once was the heat issue addressed. It would have been nice for someone to at least acknowledge and maybe apologize for the situation. At the very least my God go spend 50.00 on a fan! They knew we were coming. Maybe pack everyone's dessert to go being that it was already paid for. Something! Anything! We had been going to Mama's for almost 20 years. A month did not go by before we decided to enjoy the Chicken Parm or Franchias there. We often celebrated special events there also. We ordered Christmas Eve dinner "to go" as we normally do. It was not ready and waited over 30 minutes before it appeared only to be ice cold and thrown together. The manager (new owner?) was not apologetic and was clearly annoyed when I complained. It is a shame because the attitude was much worse then the poor service I was receiving. All total it took over an hour to leave with my food and felt like I was being made to be the bad guy. Funny thing is a relative gave us a sizable gift certificate for Mama's today. I plan on going back there to get a full refund for it as I have no interest in patronizing this Mama's under new management. Time to find a new favorite Italian restaurant. read more

Came in for a Catering order on Christmas Eve. Was really impressed by the customer service at the front door from the two lovely ladies, although I had to wait a bit longer for my order. Food is good , But take a closer look at your Bill. Specifically around 4% credit card fee and do not buy a gift card from this place with a credit card. I agree 100% Merchant Services is a significant expense. However double dipping is bad business. Example: I had recieved a gift card for $75. The receipt was in the gift card. ( They charged 4% CC Service fee ) on the purchase of gift card ...... kind of odd or a lil greedy since 15-20% of Gift cards go unused or lost anyway. This is the issue. The bill comes it is $ 81 and change. Service was great. I put the gift card and my credit card down. I say thank you. Sign the tip. Always a generous tip. When I get home actually looked at the Bill. Amazingly , they charged another 4% on the entire Bill of $81 not just the $6 and change. If they are shrewd enough to pass on the 4% credit card fee. They are smart enough to realize they are screwing gift card purchasing guests I really do not care about $2 or $3 but this has probably been going on for a long Time. GREEDY and bad business. And of course you are aware your POS system is doing this to your guests. Shame on you. read more

Sorry it came down to writing this but do not use Bigger Mama's Copiague for ANYTHING. After the horrible service from a manager, my family and I will no longer be customers of their restaurant. My mother and I ordered two dinners, last Thursday and both of them were made incorrectly. She called them to explain what was wrong and the manager said he remembers the order, next time we come in our meal would be on the house. So last night we decided to order again. The manager had absolutely no idea what we were talking about, was extremely rude and said he would never offer anyone "free food." After receiving a call back again today, he told my mother the most he would do was give her a bottle of soda from the fridge. I hope all my Long Island friends read this + think twice about eating from a restaurant who clearly doesn't value their customers. read more

It's back! Not sure what happened but I guess the ownership listened. The food is just as good as it was before and all of a sudden I find myself craving Mamas again. Perhaps it was just growing pains. The only small issue is for some reason their credit card machines go down sometimes. It's not enough of an inconvenience to take away a star though. Food great, waiter great ..... BUT "DO NOT BOOK A PARTY THERE" Promises broken forcing our party to main dining area. Booked party 4/15/24 for party on 5/26/24 with approximately 13-15 people. Asked if one of the front rooms could be used. Adam, called manager and he assured me that I could have the area. I was well aware that they normally don't use that area for less than 20 people, BUT they would make an exception for me. I ordered the GOLD package along with 3 bottles of wine and left him with a cash deposit of $700. I was also aware there was another party the same day, but they had the 2 front rooms. Adam assured me It wasn't going to be an issue. Adam called me a few days before to go over menu and confirm the room. He AGAIN assured me that there wouldn't be a problem with one of the front rooms. He said he would keep the room private but if they started to get busy he might have to use a few tables. I told him that was fine. When we arrived at Mama's the room we were supposed to have was given to another party who supposedly added 10 more people the day of party. Who does that? I wasn't even told about the move until we showed up. They put my party at a long table in the main dining area. You couldn't even talk to the people at the other end. My husband has hearing issues, which Adam was fully aware of too. I told him that I needed something close together to accommodate my party. I also have 4 young children under 7 and my youngest son traveled from out of state to celebrate his father's retirement. Spoke to manager who was RUDE to me and my 2 sons. I explain my issues to him and he said he would compensate for my inconvenience AFTER my son told him he would bring this to social media, my compensation was, I wasn't charged a bottle of wine, WOW! An evening that was supposed to be a wonderful retirement dinner with my family was ruined. The manager didn't even come back to table to see how we were doing, very unprofessional to say the least.
