On a dreary and foggy day, my friend and I dropped by here for lunch. This was my first time eating here. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, with many locals patronizing this restaurant. It seemed that our waitress paid far more attention to people who she knew. Before we knew it, a second waitress took our orders. It took a significant amount of time for our food to arrive. I liked their economical daily special of country fried steak, green beans, mashed potatoes with gravy (choice of brown or white), and a roll. My favorite was the "steak", which was actually a breaded and fried hamburger patty. The waitress said that their hamburgers were all hand-made. The restroom was pretty tidy. Parking was adequate. I'd probably return again, just in the interests of variety, and given the very limited dining choices in the Wynne area. read more

Gets the job done. We had the fried green tomatoes yummy, chicken & fries. I asked for seasoned, received plain. Sliders asked for no cheese, received cheese. Catfish meal. The dishes were all decent portions and quality but lacked seasonings. Condiment Sauces like ranch, ketchup, honey mustard etc are cheaper bland generics. read more

The lady who served us and checked us out charged us for something that we literally never got, and she was overall incompetent.

The catfish was perfect - good coleslaw and sweet iced tea - but, I substituted the onion rings for fries and they were just soggy with grease. The person that I was dining with got the grilled pork chops with fried okra. It was excellent - very tasty and tender chops. Service was excellent. I will be back if I am ever in that area of the state again. read more

Good food from good people. If your in the Wynne area looking for a bite to eat this is a great place to stop. Small town atmosphere with great service. I've had several different items on their menu and can't find anything to complain about yet. read more

Ordered a ToGo, I got the Catfish Plate. As I walked in I was greeted by super friendly staff. Got my Togo in the 12 minute time frame they gave me. Online ordering was super easy to use. A lot of food for the price. The catfish was cooked perfect, the batter was crispy and the fish well coated. I chose steak fries as my side and they were hot, well seasoned, and a large portion. Tried the pickled green tomatoes as I had never had them before, they were a little sweet for my taste but they come on the side. Hush puppies were crispy on the outside with a moist center. Slaw wasn't great in my opinion, but everyone likes theirs different. Didn't have to ask for condiments or napkins as they already put them in the bag. Overall a great experience and will be back! read more

I have always enjoyed the food here. The fish is tasty, and the hush puppies are mostly perfect. However, when you don't see your waitress except for one time and it's when she takes your order. The rest of the time, there's five people standing in the back cussing and talking about each other and people's orders. There was one girl on the floor the entire time, rushing out orders. There was maybe 6 people working. If you're busy, you shouldn't be talking about what days you want your vacation to be on and then dropping F bombs about customers and other staff. I'm very disappointed in this place for that. Management needs to do better with their staff's customer service. read more

Very disappointing. Was told the food is amazing, but I didn't experience it. Took 30 minutes for us to get our FIRST order in and when it showed up, after visiting two other tables, it was COLD and wrong! The of us ordered the three catfish plate with gator bites and recieved one three piece and one five piece. No third catfish plate, no gator bites, and again the food was cold after visiting two other tables. We flagged our server to let her know and she stood across the room and asked " what's wrong with it?" That was the last time we saw her. When we did finally get our full order, another 30 minutes later, our check came with it. No apology for the inconvenience, no "here's your plate", just set the food down with the check and left. When we asked one of the other servers if we could have utensils, she responded "That would be beneficial, now wouldn't it". Now since we had time to kill while we waited for our food, we did notice the tables haven't been cleaned yet and it was lunch time. I'm sure there was a rush, but we counted four servers on the floor and one guy in the back cooking. Yes, at the end our our meal, the guy from the back was bringing food out. Today could have been an off day, but the tables around us seem to have had the same impression. Cold, undercooked food. Wrong orders. Serious lack in customer service. Two tables had to get up and go to the front for to-go boxes. The table of six in the back had to hunt down one of the four servers to get their order corrected. At LEAST three tables walked in, sat down, never got service or better yet acknowledgement, got up, and left. When we went up to cash out, we mentioned this was the worst service we have ever had, anywhere and the cashier asked "what happened?" We told her and at the end of it all the excuse we got was " we are short on staff". Four servers and at least one person in the back cooking. Hm. This wasn't worth $60 for three people. All I ask is upper management take a look at the lack of customer service and cleanliness on September 18th from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. I will NOT be back. I do NOT recommend. read more

HORRIBLE!!! My husband, daughter, and I stopped here on our way through town. We waited 40 minutes for our food and the only thing that came was my husband's side salad...which was pitiful. People that got there after us had their food and we didn't order anything but grilled chicken and chicken strips. The waitress never came back over to check on us even once and they had plenty of staff working. After 40 minutes of waiting we got up, paid for the side salad, and when I told the waitress checking us out what had happened she didn't apologize or try to explain anything. This tells me that this is a standard practice at Johnson's Fish House & Diner. Also, there were TONS of flies in the restaurant. Gross! What a waste of our time! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

ate breakfast there - horrible service and poor quality food. husband ordered big breakfast - bacon raw, eggs not prepared as requested, got our biscuits and gravy as we were asking for check. they would not deduct any amount for our bill - said we could either take it to go or just leave it there. we have eaten there before for the fish and the last time our fries were completely cold . we asked for fresh fries and were told it would be a while before they could prepare them. we will Not go back. read more
