It's hard to wrap your head around the craftsmanship--and the fact that so much of what you're looking at is carved from salt! If you love history, this is a fascinating look at how generations of miners turned a working mine into something extraordinary. The chapel alone is worth the visit. Pictures really don't capture the scale or atmosphere. Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for plenty of walking and stairs. An incredible addition to a Kraków trip, especially if you enjoy historic places with a story you can actually walk through.

Park anywhere you see parking if you drive to location - you can walk to main entrance. You get the point - walk like your life depends on it. Best advice I can give to be able to enjoy this historical site is 'get fit' before getting there. Plan to be on your feet for three hours depending on volume of visitors - they get about 2 million visitors a year.
