Grew up at this Masjid and found myself here at a young age(15). Life can be a rollercoaster especially for the youth. After Eid prayer here that year, I found myself floating upon clouds. (You see people told me pray to 'Jesus' (peace be upon him), but he is not God, he is a righteous prophet of ours). Growing up in a 1/2 Muslim & 1/2 Catholic household in America presented its challenges. My mom is a revert however Alhamdulillah. So you can imagine how my heart felt being guided to the truth. Upon all of us standing for the takbeerat, standing shoulder to shoulder, feeling the cool breeze, in unison we exclaimed, "Allahu Akbar" before starting the prayer, tears flowing that day, after the prayer, I ran to the director 'Abdallah' crying tears of joy while grabbing him. There started my journey in Islam and it is still ongoing. We have tough days and fun days, but as long as we have Allah(swt) everyday is beautiful. Constantly reflect on what you have and you will realize how rich you are. I'm so grateful and thankful for this Masjid and family. Alhamdulillah. The Youth Group keeps on growing and blossoming as the youth become well-rounded adults and new people come in. They have a game room, pizza, groups of young brothers, and even a Sister Committee!!! (Youth Group is Friday nights btw, so all are invited! Ya'll still young & vibrant). ;) Most importantly, being in a good group of people, like-minded, and discussing His Messenger Rasullah(saw) is a true blessing. Masha'Allah. We have weekly classes with the Sheikh. They have Saturday School in the morning for the kiddos with a great, caring Principal and Teachers.
