I want to start off by saying Alma and her team did my glam for my rehearsal dinner, and I was very happy with it. For the wedding day, I asked to do the EXACT same makeup as the rehearsal dinner- and it was not even close to the same. For the rehearsal dinner I had a very full coverage look with a bronzed/blush look, shimmery eye shadow and nicely done lashes. What I ended up getting for the wedding day was a look with very little to no blush, two Eyelashes that were not applied evenly (one hanging off), and to make matters worse, the whole look was not symmetrical (one side of my face was a lot more contoured/appeared heavier and looked like it had more makeup than the other). I was incredibly washed out by the look and so unhappy with it. I also had a streak/line going down my cheek that I had asked to be covered up, and it did not get fixed. When it came time for touch ups, I voiced my concerns and I had asked for my eye lash to be re glued down, but this was not fixed and very visible in photos. In the moment I should've stopped the process and fixed everything myself because I was really disappointed and quite shocked by how it looked, but we did not have time to fix everything (my hair and makeup took much longer than it was supposed to due to a struggle that happened applying my eyelashes). We were also adjusting my bun at the same time as these touch ups and as I started to get stressed and overwhelmed by this, the hair stylist was not very kind to me and seemed to be getting very irritated with me requesting changes. The overall demeanor of the stylists working on me was not relaxing, and I didn't feel like they wanted to make me happy - they just wanted to do the look they wanted. Throughout the whole process from trial to wedding day, I was always very vocal about how I wanted my makeup to look, so I find it really odd that the look executed was so far off of what I had always discussed and showed pictures of. Looking back, my hair ended up looking great, but I hated my makeup. I am so disappointed that I had requested a few changes and they were not made. My makeup was way too natural, and I almost look like I'm not wearing any, when I wanted a very glam look. I'd expect professional MUA's that charge this much to be able to apply lashes, recreate looks, and be able to execute in a timely manner. It is really frustrating because now whenever I look at my wedding photos I'm not happy with my appearance but really do love everything else about the day. Overall, my experience with Cabo makeup was OK, but I would definitely use another team if I were to do it again.
