I searched and found this place and the lady there was really nice. She's been in business for 20 years and can't believe I didn't find this place sooner. Two Rock and Republic jeans altered for $20. I wanted original for one, but too much was being taken off. I mean who seriously has long legs for a size 24/25?!?! Ridiculous. Anyways, just a hem is $10, original is $20. I've been frequenting MAKE IT FIT along with their sister store ORIGINAL HEMS for many years. I should have written a review long ago. Regardless, I dropped off 2 new suits to get completely tailored from top to bottom. Aside from a custom made suit, a store bought suit MUST be tailored. I just picked them up and hey look outstanding. Miss Paula was here when I dropped them off and she was here to double check everything upon pick up. One pair of pants were slightly longer than I'd like and she offered to fix it right then and there while I waited so I wouldn't have to come back! Paula is very sweet along with the owner Donna. My wife has been coming here to get her jeans shortened. Seems designers think everyone that wears their jeans are 6ft+. Every time she's gone, the jeans fit perfectly and don't look like they were even altered. Well I found a nice Calvin Klein suit at the Nordstrom Rack for a ridiculous steal. The jacket fit fairly well but the pants were way too big for me! I was debating coming here or just going to the dry cleaners. But for once I wanted my suit to really fit right. I brought it in on a Friday and they were quick to have me try it on and mark it for alterations. After all that was done, I completely forgot that I kind of needed this suit by Wednesday because I was flying out to WA to shoot a wedding on Thursday. She said no problem and come by on Tuesday after 5pm. Sweet! Tuesday comes and I get into the area early (4pm). I gave them a call to see if it would be ready. She told me to come by and it should be ready by then. Well I get there and sure enough, it's done. I go and try it on and the pants fit perfectly. The jacket fits perfectly too but the lining on both sleeves weren't completely stitched back together. I show them and they were quick to take care of it right away. I spent a good amount of money on the alterations but it was well worth it. The work is unnoticeable which shows that they know what they're doing. Took in 3 dresses for alterations- one for a wedding I'm a bridesmaid in and I didn't bring heels and they gave me one to try on with the dress and it ended up being the perfect length! I've been taking clothes to Make It Fit off and on for 15 years or so, since they were located at Kraemer and Imperial Hwy. I've primarily used MiF for hems on jeans/ pants/ shirts. Recently I brought my husband in to have a suit altered. It is a quality suit, but needed tweaks. I wasn't exactly sure what needed to be done, but with only three minor alterations the suits fits wonderfully. The sleeve length could maybe be better? But for as infrequently as the suit is worn, I am very happy. The price for alterations was unbelievable. It cost $40 to have the sleeves taken in, the sides of the jacket taken in and the pants hemmed. The owner asked what we wanted done- I'm no tailor but I pointed to the areas that looked like the didn't fit so well and asked her what she thought and we went from there. I will say if you go on a weekend or later afternoon, bring your patience. You will likely have to wait, sometimes for a while. I feel that for the price of services and what you get, it's a worthy trade. I recently opted to get a bridesmaid dress hemmed closer to my home, and I regret not just bringing it here- the quality of alterations was low and the price was high. read more

I don't reccomend this place. The customer service isnt very good - the way they talk to you is a bit condescending if you inquire why their work isn't great. They aren't able to do any complex alterations - they couldnt adjust a blouse to make it fit correctly and did not refund the money. They can do simple hems, but then so can any other shop. They make excuses for why it can't be done and arent able to figure out how to get something done. I'm taking it now to a professional, since it appears that this shop is not one of a professional tailoring service. read more

Let me point this out first: I am a male with the purpose of tailoring a suit bought on sale for my cousin's wedding. I came in to a very clean looking place with mirrors to make it appear even more spacious. I could only see one staff at the time of visitation. They told me I can use one of the mini rooms with drawback curtains to change into what I wanted altered, which is my 3 piece suit. There are Two reasons for my 1 star deduction. First is that the price was pretty heavy and I already had an idea going in for a suit tailoring. All I got at time of paying for the service was a $3 discount on the hemming of the dress pants, which gladly was better than nothing. I was expecting perhaps a better discount, especially for first time customers even if it isn't a anniversary. But, I saw few people going there on a regular basis (just from hearing on their conversations). The other reason is that those changing rooms are not THAT private. There is no physical lock, so you can easily be peeked at in the midst of changing and all they can do is easily pull the curtain. So the goal is to change fast! On the upside, the female staff (Paula) that worked with me was very nice and professional. One thing to remind you guys is that they do pin to your liking, as some tailors don't do the pinning process. I will be picking up my suit soon and will update my review. Wish me luck! I purchased a suit at a department store in the Brea Mall and was told they could not have it altered in time for a funeral and wedding I had to attend. The person at the store recommended Make It Fit. I drove across the street and was greeted by two workers. The woman came out, took my measurements and I was told I could pick it up by Monday, which was awesome considering I dropped it off on late Thursday afternoon. I go in Monday to pick it up and the pants fit perfect. I noticed they hemmed the bottom of my pants weird but I didn't think anything of it. The blazer sleeves appeared to be untouched so they took measurements again and told me to come back Wednesday. Come Wednesday I picked up the jacket and went on my way after trying it on. I got home and noticed threads still hanging out on the sleeves and the front breast pocket had two small tears in the inside liner. It looked like someone yanked the pocket apart when it was still new. I did not touch anything on this suit when I brought it to them and all tags were in tact. I didn't have time to take it back as the funeral I had to attend to was on Thurs morning. As I'm ironing my pants for the wedding, my father points out the hem job and asks why the threads are showing. I even thought it was strange when I first picked them up but when I went to go look at his suits and my other suits to see why he questioned it, none of them showed any stitching from the outside. It looks super tacky since some spots have uneven stiches from another and isn't quite straight either. While I appreciate the fast turn around and low price, I guess I got what I paid for. Will be taking the suit to another place to fix these small annoyances. read more

Do NOT bother with this place. They are extremely unprofessional. They told me they could not do certain alterations that my friend literally just had done at this place. The truth is she is too busy because it is wedding season, but instead of being honest she straight out lied and said it could not be done. All I wanted were two pockets to be placed on a circle skirt. It's so easy that I could do it, but I just do not have the time. Sadly, they have lost my lifelong business and I will drive to South OC or LA to get treated better and not lied to. read more

I've been going to Make It Fit for YEARS. Even now that I live in Long Beach, I wait till I'm going to visit my family up in Brea to get my stuff altered so I can drop it off here. I'm sure that I'll need wedding dress alterations someday, and when I do, I will bring my dress here. They have hemmed my prom dresses, numerous pairs of pants ('cause I'm friggin' short), and have done some weird special projects for me. One time I asked them to cut down the top of a bandeau dress and turn it into an elastic-waist skirt, which they did a swell job of. Another time I asked them to take the waist tie off a strapless dress and turn it into straps, which they also did with no problem. They've fixed my dress straps after my cat ate them (no joke), patched holes in coats and sweaters, taken in my fat clothes so I can wear them as a skinny girl, and altered several pairs of trousers to fit my small-waist-big-badonkadonk combination lower body. Just...great stuff. I have never been displeased with their service; it's always been very professional. And how can you NOT love a place that usually has Yanni live performance DVDs playing on the screen behind the counter? read more

Went here for prom and was really happy w results. Went in on a Wednesday and it took 15 mins to get in and out for the girl to take the measurements and there were quite a few people in there.
