We ordered 4 pieces: closet, drawer, rug and a bed. These were supposed to come in one shipment. This was not even close to true. Instead I had to take several days off from work for this. First delivery: they brought the bed and drawer but they forgot the screws for this. They had also lost our rug and closet. How can you lose a 200 kilo closet? Second delivery: They bring the rug. The closet is in the car but they didn't have enough people to carry it upstairs to our apartment. What kind of planning is this? We told them on the phone that the elevator is small and that we are on the 4th floor. Third delivery: they bring the closet. They open the box downstairs and leave an absolute mess in the hall way. Very unprofessional. And last of all, they forgot to deliver some of the pieces needed to fix the legs into the closet. We also find that the top part of the closet does not have finished surface. I guess Maison du Monde thinks that nobody will see this. I find this really cheap on their part. Fourth delivery: they bring the missing parts to the closet. Finally this was over. I had to take 4 days off from work. They said "sorry" and gave us 30 euro voucher for the screws that were missing from the drawer. I find that almost insulting given that all four pieces cost 2,500 euros. I must say, if I could go back, I would not order anything from them. I most certainly will not order anything from them again or recommend them in any way. This was the worst delivery nightmare I have had. read more

Amazing! On a recent trip over we were just about to leave the shop when we spotted a gorgeous bedside table. It was just perfect. We dithered a little on price and how it would fit into the car (well I did actually!) After a short conversation and decision made, the extremely helpful sales assistant tried to locate a second one as we wanted a pair. She raced around to a display area outside of the shop but was unable to locate one and kindly suggested we order a pair of them to be delivered. We thought this we cost a ridiculous amount and were generally sceptical as we live in England and were not convinced they would be able to safely deliver the items to our home. She assured us it was no bother and cost a mere 29 euros for the privilege. We accepted her kind help and ordered them to be delivered within ten days. They arrived exactly ten days later and were a welcome surprise after a rotten day at work. Super condition, fabulous customer service and a generally pleasant shopping experience. I would use this service again and am very pleased with our purchase! read more

Awful awful company. Their delivery service failed no less than 4 times to deliver and ended up costing me 3 days of lost work. When they finally got it right some of the goods were missing including a mirror which when it finally turned up 3 weeks later it was broken. Dealing with customer services was just as painful - rude, arrogant and completely reticent to right their wrongs. The quality of the goods are below average too. AVOID BUYING FROM THIS COMPANY. read more

I broke my leg sitting on a chair purchased through Maison du Monde. When I called customer service they asked me to prove I was on the chair at the time I broke my leg. How the hell can I prove that!? I don't film myself all day. Absolutely terrible customer service. I will never shop here again and will be contacting Trading Standards. read more

The stock is lovely - they sell things that look authentic, but probably aren't, from all different areas of the world, like Moroccan lanterns, Japanese-inspired dishes, richly coloured cushions and throws. The prices are very reasonable but my only grumble is the layout of the shop. There's no circuit round the shop so there's always a pile-up as the people down the back end try to fight their way back out, and it's a nightmare if you've got a pushchair. read more

Despite great stuff they have, their service and delivery service is absolutely terrible. Impossible to communicate with them on-line or even by phone, and even if I went there they were not able to solve the problem and I ended up with doubled order... Delivery service - doesn't deliver to your floor, just to the entrance door (!). Never again ordering online with them. read more

Maison du Monde is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I warn everyone to be very careful dealing with them. I had the wrong items delivered, and no confirmation to deliver the correct items. I requested a refund and it was refused until the incorrect items were collected. I have had 4 weeks of endless calls and emails with Maison du Monde and to no success, they have stolen my money and left me with goods that I never ordered. They make guarantees for collections and deliveries that they can not go through with. I have spent 3 days home from work for their deliveries and collections and still nothing has happened. It is promise after promise and absolutely no action. So many hours of my time have been wasted on hold with their terrible customer service centre who seem incapable of fixing anything. This is theft of my money and I will never use this company again. I would suggest never ordering from them. I am 4 weeks into this and still don't have my money back. I ordered from Cult Furniture and had my delivery within 5 days without problems so I would recommend ordering with them. read more

Unfortunatley after a bad experience with a company I feel the only thing I can do is warn others about them. We bought a sofa from Maison du Monde in 2008. It is only 2.5 years old but the frame has just broken. The legs have come away from the frame and the frame itself has split. We unfortunatley noticed it on Christmas day just before family arrived. This sofa is rarely used except on occassions where all the family get together and is used as extra seating. Therefore we were shocked that it had broken and even more shocked when we turned it upside down and saw how it was made. So I contacted Maison du Monde and explained what had happened. They replied and informed us that my sofa bought in 2008 only had a 1 year gurantee. Sofas sold in 2010 had a 5 year gurantee because 'quality and items have progressed'. I explained to them that a sofa breaking after 2.5 years was not fit for purpose and that I was not wanting a refund but would like my low quality 2008 sofa replaced with a progressed 2010 version! Maison du Monde responded by saying they could not extend my warranty and 'sorry for the inconvenience there is nothing they can do' So I explained I was actually wishing to buy another piece of furniture from them and still needed to find a conclusion to the issue with my sofa and would be happy if they could offer me a discount on a new sofa which I would purchase along with a chest of drawers. I thought they would want to keep me as a customer. Unfortunatley Maison du Monde have replied in a brief and blunt manner, 'you want a discount on the next order, I am sorry but it is impossible'. I am clearly not going to get a satisfactory conclusion from them and feel all I can do is warn others about their customer service and furniture quality. read more

The WORST CLIENT EXPERIENCE EVER! DON'T recommend and won't buy from them again! I passed an order in the Zurich shop mid August '19. Agreed delving date for 3rd September. On the third nothing happens. I spend hours calling them and the logistics company to find out what happens. It turns out there was a mismatch in the systems ( logistics had 8 items, Maison du monde 9). They didn't talk to each other before I call to ask what's happening. After many calls I try to make a complaint but they don't have such a service so I am forced to agree with delivery with a potential missing item, they confirm next delivery date in 2 weeks time. The furniture arrives and I have only half of the couch!!!! Logistics promised to find a solution. Nothing for 4 working days. Again I call and spend my time with them to find out that next delivery date is after 14th of November!!! 3 months later! After few days I decided to go for another couch so I try to call again(waiting time guaranteed!) and cancel. I can cancel but I cannot get refunded because I agreed with their dirty T&C and they offer me a voucher instead. The only chance I have is if the shop agrees to pay me back. Process still ongoing at the moment. I won't ever buy from them, I don't want their voucher and don't recommend this shop to anyone not even worse enemies!!! read more

They sent broken goods, on two different orders. I chase them once a momth for refund which is now 7 months overdue. They respond to emails but still have not received money or evidence of payment from them. read more
