We wandered through the market in the square to check out fresh vegetables, tables of cheap clothing, tea towels, and aprons in this easy-going charming town. Everyone was very friendly and we even got to visit the art collection in the City Hall. There is a long shopping street off the square, and we found the post office a couple of blocks away. The arched bridge marks the end of the navigable portion of the Dordogne River.
The Gothic church has recently been restored, and its spire gleams over the limestone town. The waterfront has been restored and widened, making for even, flat walking along the rivers. Cafes, patisseries, and bistros abound, so it is a great place to have lunch and people watch from outdoor tables.
