We also observed several harbor seals on the cruise. As an added bonus, the weather happened to be perfect this morning. Dogs are allowed on the boat, our mini poodle also loved her outing today. The captain was nice, but probably not the best tour guide although the gave us interesting tidbits of information particularly regarding the lobster industry. It was a beautiful day for sailing and I really enjoyed. I did like that there were only six passengers and one crew plus the captain. Definitely would recommend this schooner!

What was a bit ironic for us was we generally wish those leading these types of experiences would talk a little less, but this crew didn't tell us anything about the boat (other than it was 100+ yrs old), they didn't point out anything on the sail, or offer anything, interesting or not (except their opinions of other boats and their crew). They did say to ask them whatever questions we had because they haven't learned to read minds yet, so I did and was met with a bit on a condescending tone by Captain Chris. Just unnecessary. Overall, it was fine but it was little more than a 2hr round trip experience: relaxing and beautiful, and one-and-done.

Being from Las Vegas, I'll admit I had certain expectations about Maine. Blame the media and me not paying enough attention in history class, but I was expecting to see a few more lighthouses. That's definitely not their fault this is why expectations aren't healthy. a little part of me thought it was going to be two awkward hours of me feeling like I was talking too loud Instead, the crew was fantastic, the other passengers were friendly, and for a couple of hours it felt like we had all traveled back in time. It ended up being one of the most enjoyable experiences of our trip. The crew allows passengers to help handle the lines and raise the sails, which was a really cool touch. If that's something you want to do, be quick and be ready because those opportunities go fast! Just an FYI, if you have mobility issues, I would recommend using the restroom before setting sail. The boat's head (restroom) is located below deck and requires navigating stairs.The crew had a sense of humor and professional. kind of bummed they didn't dress like old sailors with pipes:) perfect weather, the scenery. Watching the crew nimbly leap from one part of Angelique to another, raise sails, climb masts, prepare delicious meals and baked goods, and plot our course to spectacular locations was incredible. Be prepared to have alternative plans…read more We had a night fireworks cruise cancelled for "weather" 36hrs in advance. No signs of inclement weather on any of the weather apps. As predicted, it turned out to be a Beautiful and calm night. We ended up watching the fireworks from shore. They contract out their crews so it may have been that something fell apart on that side for the night trip. Just be prepared that they may cancel for any reason. A local captain we met during the fireworks show in Camden surmised that there was likely something else besides the weather in their decision. Others in our party were committed to getting in a harbor tour so we ended up getting a day sail earlier in the day. It was a Beautiful day. Competent and friendly captain and crew. They did an excellent job of hosting the harbor tour. Absolutely Beautiful boat. Great way to spend some time on the water. Be prepared for alternative plans.

Yes the cabins are small, but it's an 1871 schooner not a cruise ship. Get up on deck and use your cabin to sleep. Everyone is friendly.
