The grounds are…read morejust gorgeous - especially in the fall - they have several awesome museums and there's SO much history! And for potential students - Bowdoin is ranked 6th in the nation for liberal arts schools by US News & World Report and is considered one of the "little ivies". Bowdoin (pronounced BOH-din) was established as a college a whole 26 years before Maine was even its own state!! And writer Nathaniel Hawthorne (The Scarlett Letter) and poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow both graduated from here in 1825. The sixth president of the college, Joshua Chamberlain, was a Civil War hero (Union Army) and even won a Medal of Honor for the Battle of Gettysburg! Their chapel is gorgeous and they have several ornate gates. They have a small museum/house that holds the writing room of Harriet Beecher Stowe where she actually wrote Uncle Tom's Cabin and it was even part of the Underground Railroad! The biggest surprise was their Museum of Art!! It was huge and had so many interesting pieces and exhibits. They're very welcoming to visitors and all the staff were so nice to me. I had a fabulous day here - highly recommend a visit if you're in the area!

Had sushi and curly fries with bacon and cheese from Spa. This "Little Ivy League" college is making a big transformation into sports. Each sport seems to have its own field which is well maintained.
