The main street is a lovely area to walk around and explore. At one end is the Calumet Visitor Center (a neat little museum and gift shop run by the NPS), and then it's a one way street lined with many shops and restaurants. I stopped by the Copper World gift shop and I was surprised it spanned three buildings. The workers there were very friendly. It sells many UP themed gifts and food. I also went to the Copper Scoop for ice cream. I learned that this street tries to preserve/rehabilitate as many historical buildings for this area. The visitor center has more information about this as well; in fact the center is in what was formerly the Union Building. I liked how this is a one way street so it's easier to watch out for cars.
