I could sit there forever...great place to meditate with art mixed in throughout the property...so aesthetic. No picture taking allowed of the art work. The garden has pottery pieces throughout which are art. Bonsai trees are blended in and art in itself. We try to make events of new upcoming island artists. We were greeted and asked to show our vaccination cards. Remember, it's up to a private business whether they want full COVID19 practice including mask wearing. They did have snacks and drinks and sat under one of the umbrella tables to take everything in...so worth it! Ciao!

Featuring many of Lauren Roth's soft, colorful art with various Hawaiian landscapes, flowers and beaches as the subject, it's challenging to make a decision! While the art is colorful, it isn't childlike. The palettes are soft and can easily blend in or stand out in a variety of home decor styles. I decided on a print of the mountains with the ocean in the foreground to hang in my home in Portland. It will be a reminder of my love for Hawaii and my many trips to the various islands and towns. Kailua on O'ahu being my favorite destination . In addition to prints, there are also textiles. The handbags are fun and charming!!! I may have to get the bucket bag with th tassel! She makes postcards on thin pieces of wood that can easily be framed. They have a vintage look that I adore. And coloring books for the kids or adults! Cards, postcards, stickers, serving platters...and different items coming, I'm sure. Imagination never stops! This gallery also features other artists, giving them a vehicle to display their work. So many beautiful pieces! The customer service was fabulous, thank you, John! I stopped in right before closing and was greeted and welcomed as if the studio had just opened. While I don't want this trip to Hawaii to end, I am excited about getting my print framed and hung up at home for a touch of Aloha by my side always.

I showed up curious, open and excited and I was not disappointed. I teased my friend about trying to use a gift certificate at a small business that was so old. But Naoki was incredibly gracious and authentically happy to share with us his art technique and take the time to passionately explain this historic art form. I left with a new respect for people who have managed to create vocation from acts that they genuinely love doing. Naoki is awesome sauce! Being with him was inspirational! I truly appreciate his kindness and Im grateful for witnessing first hand his dedication to continuing to practice this art form.

Tucked in the back of Traditions Coffee Roasters is Icky Love Art Loft and Gallery which is home to 40+ various artists and what a treat to find this gem that's filled with so much beautiful inspiration. The staff here is just incredibly knowledgeable of every single artist and priced that's showcased here with not just who they are but where they're from and is amazing what you'll find in this cozy gallery. The only downside is the long walk up the stairs and even with my horrible knee I just couldn't resist taking a peek as the Tradition Coffee Roasters describes what they have I was just so excited and curious. Here you'll find many items from stickers, wall arts, books, jewelry and beautiful assortment of pottery and so much more! I was told that the owner makes pottery and holds workshops & events right in the shop which is super cool and fun but having a bunch of local artist here in one place is so amazing to support local not found anywhere which I did as I couldn't resist a Hebrew Shell Keychain, a cute bowl I'm planning to put jewelry in which will add some fun character that I love which is brining out the crafty in me but love the find of this unique piece of art. On 29 Nov, I called about the potential to walk-in to get my 1st tattoo, and I had a serendipitous experience (to quote Jen). Carly took my call. She was warm, asked good questions, and made me feel comfortable (bc I had no idea what to ask/do). I got a call back within minutes from Jen. We made a plan and an appt. She said she'd be availableby text or to call if I had questions or changed my mind which put me at ease. When I arrived, the staff and artists were friendly and the environment at The Collective is relaxing and welcoming.just overall very pleasant! My art consult with Jen was better than I could have imagined...and she drew up the perfect tattoo for me...somehow adding a few details I didnt even say explictly. (She just new my vibe somehow.) The piece on my ribs took approx 1 hour. Jen was fantastic to work with and really made the entire experience for me. The Collective (and artists) maintain a very hygienic space and clear, caring, helpful recommendations to optimize healing afterwards. They had a ton of literature books at every single book and cranny of this store and it was substantial. I saw an old Aesop Fables book that I read when I was younger on the shelves as well - very nostalgic. I'm more of a manga girl so I didn't really see too much nooks that interested me - but if you're really into hardcore literature than this place is definitely it. They had so much books categorized and it felt a bit overwhelming - yet I liked it. I love the smell of books when you walk in, very comforting. I love physical books as well so shops like these are a gem. Had people manning the cashier but mostly just people browsing around enjoying the selection of books.
