When new owners took over, I was looking forward to them bringing a fresh set of eye's... but nope…read more In thier world the dog rules and they are too lazy...

Visited this pub today with my mom, sister, partner and 8 year old little boy. We ordered some…read moredrinks and food including a 'crispy chicken burger' and were told food would be a 30 minute wait. The pub wasn't that busy but we shared that this was fine. The cups of tea were then brought out to us and were already cold. Then the 'food' (I use lightly) arrived 50 minutes later with no apology. It was cold and was very poor quality. A cheese sandwich was accidentally brought out instead of the crispy chicken burger and we told the young male waiter that this wasn't right to which he apologised and said he would correct this. He then disappeared and reappeared no more than 2 minutes later with the 'crispy chicken burger' which was a burger bun containing 3 pieces of ROASTED COLD chicken (that was used on the chicken club that we also had) , not crispy chicken fillets with relish and salad at it has described on the menu. I wouldn't call this a burger it was merely a bread bun with cold roast chicken in. When I told staff about this another customer overheard me and commented that they had just tried to do this to them too. Other meals consisted of cold, mushed baked beans practically slapped on a plate and a children's beef burger which was (at a push) lightly warm when it arrived. We do not usually complain however felt this was a step too far so we spoke to the guy behind the till with his hair tied back (who was lovely and the most helpful person there). He said he would need to go and get his manager but appeared apologetic. This then all went downhill when the manager (an older lady) came out and basically called us liars from the get go. She was rude, did not apologise for the poor service once and didn't appear concerned that our food had come out cold and wrong. She barely even gave us eye contact and spoke to us through the guy behind the till. I felt sorry and embarrassed for the young guys that work here. We told the manager that the cups of tea were cold when they were brought out to us and she walked past us, to the table where we were sat and went to 'check' the tea (which had now been sat there for around an hour). She brought the STILL FULL cup of tea back over to us at the bar and asked us what was wrong with it whilst looking at it. I again reiterated it was cold when it came out and she said there was no way this could have happened. She wouldn't accept that this had happened and was extremely rude to both me and my partner. She then slammed 75p down on the counter (I guess as some sort of refund for the £4 we spent on tea) and walked off. Customer service here was absolutely awful and some locals even commented that she had recently taken over and didn't think she would last long with her attitude towards the customers, which is a shame as it's a lovely little pub. Would never go here again. It is one thing to have terrible food but that customer service is unforgivable
