They were ready for us when we came for our appointment and provided a detailed estimate of what needed to be done and a basic timeline. We gave them the green light and they were off. Parts were ordered and arrived in a matter of days. We then scheduled to drop off our vehicle. Dropped on a Wednesday morning and they were done and we had it back by the following Monday afternoon. My Jeep was in for repairs to the left rear quarter panel and was returned to me with a cracked left rear tail light that didn't exist when I dropped it off yet was immediately noticeable the second I brought my vehicle home after their repairs. My Jeep was also returned with a large exposed gap in one of the interior trim panels. Stacy the GM denies any responsibility for the cracked taillight and claims that they have noted "existing damage" to the tail light in a photo that was taken more than 24 hours after I left the vehicle there. They also have photos from the estimate 2 weeks prior that clearly shows there was no damage to the taillight. I would not trust them to perform any work on my vehicles in the future. read more

I was in an accident, not my fault, the other guy got the ticket. Farmers referred me to Mahnke, I chose the one in Arvada. Took it in for an estimate, they did it, gave me the paperwork and said they would call me in a few days. Well they kept me hanging on for a few months. When I finally did get to talk to someone, they apologized and said they would get right on it. A number of calls and more apologies later, still nothing. The last time I called they said, "we are not going to fix your vehicle, take it somewhere else." Almost a year later (during the "stay at home order" because of the pandemic) they called wanting to know if I had gotten my vehicle fixed. I said that I had not, she said they could do it now. I asked why they could now fix it, when before they told me to go somewhere else. She said she would have the manager call me. Of course I never heard from him/them. read more

Mahnke is no longer owned or run by the Mahnke family. The body shops have been sold to another company. I had my vehicle painted by them and it supposedly had a lifetime warranty. In less than 6 months I took it back due to problems with the paint and was told by the new owners that they had no record of my vehicle or the work done. I was told by the new manager at the Arvada location that the new owners would not honor any warranty done by Mahnke. I gave up trying to call Sam Mahnke as his voicemail was always full and he would not respond to any text messages. I spent close to $5,000 dollars with them on my current vehicle and now have a paint job that is need of repair. The new corporation is out of Arizona and has no integrity. Got a "photo estimate" and went into the shop to double check estimate. You know how these things go. Sure enough it was going to be more. How much more I don't know. The woman doing the estimate was extremely rude, said she would email a quote and never did. They acted like I was a nuisance to them. There are way too many collision centers to put up with bad attitudes and lack of response. I can't imagine what it would have been like if I let them do the work. This was just getting, or trying to get, the estimate verified. Save yourself time, go elsewhere, maybe the person doing your estimate will be glad to get your business, have a smile and actually follow-up with an estimate. read more

Ouch! THEY LEFT AN OLD PAIR OF PLIERS IN THE BACK LEFT QUARTER PANEL! It even had the same blue paint on it! I really don't like having to place bad reviews, but I have no choice. I spoke with Sam Mahnke again, over a few weeks, and still don't have results. Essentially, they seemed to do a good job repairing the entire left side of my 2002 Solara a few years back. But over the next year, I just couldn't find the source of a rattle/metal sound every time I went over a bump. After hours of searching by experts at Toyota of Elgin, IL, we surmised it might be a loose strut. I was told the cost to tear apart the back end and tighten the struts wasn't much less than just installing new struts, so I had them do that, at a cost of $790! Well, the noise persisted. I finally returned to the dealership, and after hours of searching and driving/testing, they found an old pair of pliers buried in the quarter panel! Now I'm out almost $800. I called and spoke with Sam, and he said he'd talk with Toyota. Toyota said they didn't hear from him, and they and myself left more messages. Finally talked with Sam again on 9/8/15, and he said he won't pay me anything; I told him I'd settle for 1/2, just $400, and still nothing. So now I'm out all that time and effort of driving back and forth to the dealer, missing time off work, and losing customers for my business. NOT FAIR! I was rear ended in early October and Farmers Insurance referred me to Mahnke. I got in pretty quickly for the adjuster to assess the damages. I was happy with the service I had received, but was surprised it would be a full month before they could do the repair. I waited. Exactly a month to the day of my accident, I took my car in for the repair and was told it'd be approximately 4-5 days. The whole while that my car was with them, they stayed in touch with me via text message alerts which informed me of the progress of my vehicle. I enjoyed this convenience over phone calls, especially since I was able to correspond with them via this SMS service they were using. I knew exactly what to expect and how to plan when I got a message stating that it would be 5 days, rather than 4. (And I appreciated that I was able to confirm with them so conveniently, during a hectic week.) One issue did arise, which neither I nor Mahnke understand completely, but I'm happy with how it was resolved. The day I picked up my vehicle, as I was on the road driving away to an appointment, my low tire pressure light came on. I was in a hurry to my location and didn't notice a change in the vehicle til I parked and looked at how my car was slightly leaning. By the time I left my appointment, my tire appeared very low and I had to slowly roll to an auto shop which was fortunately open and very close by. I filled the tire and both an auto tech and I took turns slow-rolling my vehicle to see if we could notice any damage or hear hissing. Neither happened, so since it was end of business on a Friday and the tire shop couldn't get me in, I opted to hold out overnight to see how the tire looked in the morning. When I woke up, it was completely flat. I was annoyed because when I had called Mahnke on Friday, end of business, it was just bad timing and weird and the service rep really didn't know what to do to help me, so I had to fend for myself. However, Mahnke quickly responded to me, on Monday, after having received my response to their one question survey about my satisfaction with them. I had left a brief message stating that I appreciated the good work they did on my bumper and trunk, but that this odd thing with my tire left me feeling badly and I didn't like that I had to pay for a whole new tire because it couldn't be repaired. Tony, the GM, called me in to swap an invoice for a check in the full amount of the damage. I believe they did a thorough check on my vehicle and maybe the light hadn't come on yet because it is possible the damaged tire didn't leak enough for the light to come on til I drove off. I know I didn't hit anything and I sure didn't hear or experience anything that would make me feel I damaged the tire as I pulled out. I realize that, given the way this happened, Mahnke could have easily claimed no responsibility to me. However, they did NOT do that. They treated me with dignity and respect and told me they wanted to make sure I had a good experience and they sure did make sure of that. I think the people at Mahnke are reliable and trustworthy, and I applaud them for being thorough and professional to work with. If you have to wait to get in, it's probably worth the wait if you wanted to know you have your car in the hands of people who will take the time to do the job properly, even if it means taking extra steps. This isn't common in today's rushed world, so I give these gals and guys high 5's for being exceptional. read more

Mahnke seems like it used to be a good company. If you look at the dates of the reviews below, all the positive ones are a few months older. They can no longer handle the volume they are receiving efficiently. You, the customer, will pay for this. Even if the accident was not your fault and insurance says they will cover it. I took my car here to be repaired after being rear ended. That was on the 9th. It's the 29th and they still have my car. Mahnke took too long to send the supplement information to the insurance company. Because of how long it took (it took eight days, most insurance companies want the information within 48 hours. I didn't know this but now you do) the insurance company refused to pay for my rental for the eight days that they waited to do this. I had no idea I was paying for the rental out of pocket. They didn't call me with an update for 12 days after I dropped my car off. They told me it would only take two weeks. I had to call them and see what was going on with my vehicle. I still dont have my car but they said maybe by Tuesday (five more days from now). I talked to mahnke about what was going on with the rental car to see if they will help pay and the general manager declined. He also refused to call me and discuss it. Reception said hes too busy with meetings. Because I chose to do business with mahnke I am now out $250 due to the delay in supplement requests. As a working student that us a big hit for me. Dont make the same mistake that I did, Go to a lower volume repair shop. If you are stuck with mahnke after an accident, I highly recommend doing a few things that I didn't know to do: 1. Call the insurers that are covering your accident, find out how soon they need a supplement request. 2. Call mahnke daily for updates. You will be responsible for any delay that they cause. To protect yourself, you need to be on top of them, making sure they do the right things in a timely manner. 3. Do not let them lull you into a false sense of security. They told me everything would be paid for and taken care of without a cost to me. I stupidly listened. They were just trying to get my business. They have no idea what the understanding is between you and the insurance company. Dont let them pretend they do. Good luck with mahnke. You're gonna need it. read more

Had to wait 2 weeks to even in for an estimate and they didn't even bother to look at the odometer, the frame, or opened the hood. Insurance company wants to total the car that is still driveable. I had the best experience with Mahnke Auto Body shop! My driver's side window fell off the track and was not rolling up any more. When I called Toyota, they told me I would have to leave my car there for a week and that it would cost $150/hour. I called Mahnke at 8:10AM and they got me in at 8:30AM to take a look for free to see if they could do anything. The front desk staff were so friendly, caring and quick. The technician took my door apart and found a bolt that had come loose. He put it back in and repaired my window in less than 10 minutes! They did not have to squeeze me in, but made the choice to help me out. They saved me TONS of money and time and I could not be more grateful. Excellent service! The front office bent over backwards to make me happy. Even personally took me to the rental car place so that I wouldn't have to wait to be picked up. They communicated almost every day with updates, managed expectation. Drivers side door was replaced/painted but came back with a very small protruding dimple at the bottom edge. They wanted to keep my car for 7 days. This auto body shop is more concerned with quantity rather than quality. I got my truck fixed from here about 6 months ago. The work they did was good, but the problem I had was arguing about stuff I was told was previous damage. I bought my truck brand new and had no previous damage. A ding on my door did not get fixed because it was "previous" damage. Really? Wow. What a disappointment to not have everything fixed that should have been. My truck was there for two weeks as well. WARNING: DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE WITHOUT READING MY EXPERIENCE WITH MAHNKE AUTO BODY I had my car broken into about a week before Thanksgiving. There was center column damage because the criminal was trying to steal my car. On top of that, the rearview and visor mirrors were destroyed and my radio was damaged. I called my insurance company and they suggested I take it to Mahnke Auto Body Arvada. I was excited to get my car fixed and had it towed to the shop. When it arrives they left me a message saying they had received my car and may take a couple of days to look at it, which is understandable because it all occurred during a snowstorm so I figured they would be busy. I had to go in to the shop and sign papers stating that I was going to pay the deductible. While I was in there I asked if there was anything else I needed to do. You see, I have never had an incident happen like this before so I didn't know all of the steps that are necessary to take. They sent me on my way and said that a couple of signatures was all they needed. They call me a couple of days later and ask me if anyone has gone over the damages with me. They had forgotten to go over the damages with me while I was in there. I had no way of getting to the shop to go over the damages in person, so we had to discuss the damage over the phone. A couple of days later, I get a call asking me to bring the key in because they are going to be taking a look at they car. The key had been with them the whole time, even though they claimed I didn't give it to them. Well, they end up finding the key and look over my car. At this point my car has been with them for 2 weeks and they had just began looking at my car. They tell me that they have to order parts and with have them shortly. A week later I call them asking if the parts have arrived. They had arrived, but it turns out they ordered the wrong parts. To be fair, I have an older car so parts are hard to order. I was patient and waited for them to get new parts in. They told me they would be receiving the new parts in very soon so they can fix it as soon as possible. I called them 3 days later and asked for an update on my car. They ordered the wrong parts AGAIN. Getting frustrated, I started explaining to them that it is nearing a month that they have had my car and it's hard to get rides everywhere. They had no sympathy, just merely explained that they will call me when it's ready. This whole time they wouldn't give me an estimated completion date no matter how much I tried. They just kept telling me that they would let me know when it is finished. Over a month of my car being in the shop, I finally get a call telling me that it is ready to be picked up. Excited to finally have my car, I go in and anxiously drive it away. I start noticing little things that weren't fixed. My visor mirror was still shattered and the turn signal was malfunctioning. I call them and tell them the issues and the first thing they tell me is that I didn't tell them about the visor mirror being broken and to bring it back to the shop. Tony looks it over and tells me he will order the parts and should take no longer than an hour to install. He told me he would call me when the parts arrive. Waiting...waiting...waiting... no call after two weeks. I call them and ask if the parts have arrived. They had no idea what I was talking about and needed to call me back. Finally get a call back and they had them in and could repair it. After receiving attitude from the lady at the front desk, we had determined that I can come in after my work which is at 3:30 PM. Brought it in to them and guess what? They ordered the wrong parts AGAIN. They told me they would call me when the correct parts came in. At this point they stopped calling me and returning my calls. I left messages with they ladies at the front desk and Tony didn't seem to want to call me back. I talked to my insurance company and told them that I was going to contact the better business bureau about the terrible business practices at Mahnke. The insurance company called them and I magically got a call from Tony. Thinking my problems would be fixed, he said he had the parts and to bring it in. Well he had one of the right parts, and seemed to order another wrong part. Over 2 months of waiting, I finally have my car back. Not worth your time, money, and effort. The front desk ladies are rude and I had heard them talking badly about clients while I was in the waiting room. This is not a good place to go and I am surprised they are still in business. No apologies for the countless mistakes that were made. I hope I save someone from taking there car to Mahnke. read more

We had a fairly minor problem - the skin of our rear bumper got pulled off, and some pieces were broken. We got what we thought was a fair quote, about $250. We left the car and were told it would be ready tomorrow. We got a call saying the car was ready, and picked it up. The work looked great! The total bill was actually LESS thuan the quote, a bit over $200. Additionally, the car had been detailed and was spotless when returned. Very impressive service! read more

My car needed major bodywork to the rear doors and rear panels and the front end. I took it to the Arvada location of Mahnke, and the people there are just first rate. They did a very thorough walk through with me assessing the damage. They explained everything completely, kept me up to date on where they were with the repairs, and arranged for it to go to a mechanic for the mechanical repairs. Repairs were completed very quickly for what needed done. When I picked the car up, I couldn't even tell anymore where it had been damaged. The paint match was perfect and the car looks like new. They even cleaned up the inside before giving the car back to me. Every person I dealt with was polite and professional. Where I hope I never again damage a car to where it needs bodywork, if I ever need bodywork done to a car again I'm going back to Mahnke. read more

I have never had as bad of an experience at any business as i have had at Mahnke Auto Body Arvada. My insurance California Casualty recommended them. First off they scheduled me month out. When I went to pick up the car the bumper was installed crooked the sun roof gasket was still nicked, swirls in the paint on hood. Sanding dust all over the inside of the car. I did not take the car. Second time i go to pick up the car bumper still crooked and it had new scratches. I would like to know how much of the entire situation with the other customer you witnessed? Where you there for drop off? Where you there during in process calls? Did you see the vehicle EVER? What condition was it in? Did it have other prior damage? What year was it? How many miles? Does she live in town or out of town? Did the shops repairs take place anywhere near the windshield? Windshields don't just crack!!! Did the windshield have large pits or star shaped chips? If it did & she had not had the chips repaired that windshield was a good as broken, it was only a matter of time until it happened. You say the shop had it documented as prior damage? how was it documented, photos, video, on paper, or a mixture of all or some of the above? How do you know she wasn't trying to scam the shop for a new windshield? *2nd. You say you witnessed how the customer was treated. How was she treated? Did the shop Use foul language? Call her a liar? Tell her to get out? They would have undoubtedly reviewed the documentation that they had showing it to be prior damage with her, right? She wasn't notified of the cracks? If it is documented as prior why would they have notified her? Did they notify her of any other prior damage on the vehicle before letting her walk to the car? No? Why not? You know so much of the situation that you should be able to answer all of these questions!!! *3rd. You say you were sitting in the office at the time. A potential new customer? Why would they have treated her poorly with other "NEW" customers sitting right there? What was the outcome of the situation? Did they offer to pay for the windshield? Pay for part of it? Pay for her glass Deductible (assuming she has glass coverage) Isn't a body shop a business of service? Pleasing customers is how they stay in business. *4th. If she does have glass coverage then it shouldn't be a huge deal period. I have glass coverage & when adding that to my policy I was given an option of $0.00 or $100 glass deductible. I was also told that glass coverage was not considered collision or comprehensive. It was glass & doesn't go against my policy. So I get a new windshield every other year & it costs nothing but $7.00 every 6months. *5th. What business is it of yours? If it is your business & you obviously know so much about the situation you should have stood up right there in the waiting room & chimed in, voicing your opinion on how the shop was responsible & how they were mistreating that customer. Mahnke auto body. If you are in fact not responsible for this "PRIOR" damage then right on. Don't let anybody scam you out of things like this. Stand your ground. I work in a similar industry & people are always wanting something for nothing. Or they want several estimates with different options but expect the same result as the highest priced option. It takes a lot for me to feel I need to leave a review of any kind. But my experience with Mahnke Auto Body left too many bad impressions. Hopefully this can help someone else...from the start my phone call(s) to have my car looked at were agrivating. Even though the girls were polite and tried to be helpful, they seemed confused and kept giving my wrong information. After a a few phone calls I finally got an appointment a month later. The car repair was fine, but this shop definitely lacks an eye for detail. I wasn't happy about having to bring my brand new car in for repairs from a drunk driver to begin with, but when I got it back there was a can of chew left in the cup holder (not mine), and some pieces of the molding were broken off inside the back door, (which weren't broken prior to the repairs) They left the broken pieces inside. I guess they hoped I didn't care. I took it back and showed them, it took about a week for them to order them and replace them. The last thing that upset me was their was overspray on the opposite side of my car where it was repaired. I kept thinking maybe it was dirt or something that would come off. It hasn't. I had someone who has experience look at it and they said it was definitely overspray and could be removed and I should take it back. I've called twice and was assured twice I would get a call back from Jason, I think was his name. It has been over two weeks and no phone call. None of this is life threatening, but being there is so many choices out there I would definitely never take my car back there for repairs. read more

I unfortunately had to witness how the staff in the Golden treats their customers. While waiting for an estimate I saw another customer pick up her car with the surprise that there were two huge new cracks in her windshield. Long story short, the Mahnke staff took no responsibility for the cracks and stated that there were preexisting chips that would have eventually turned into cracks anyway. The surprising thing to me was the way the customer was treated, not notified of the cracks before she went to get in her car and then blamed for the cracks rather than taking any type of responsibility. Are you kidding me? No, you are not getting anywhere near my car to do repairs. Pathetic and reprehensible customer service displayed and viewed by all in the waiting room. read more

Great service and super friendly! When they first talked to me they were extremely booked. I was a little apprehensive that it would take them a while to complete the repairs, but that wasn't the case at all. The work done on my bumper and tail light was completed before the original deadline. Which I was super thrilled about . I was very impressed with the fact they got everything completed in a timely manner. Excellent job on the repairs and paint job. I was also kind of blown away that they cleaned the inside of my Jeep as well! It was extremely dirty when I took it in, full of dog hair. So to me, they exceeded my expectations. Good job Mahnke! The rental car service was a breeze and they even returned it upon picking up my finished car. I have 2 small children so this meant a lot to me!! My car was detailed inside and out and looked great. Took my company car to Mahnke because I was told they worked with integrity and provided good customer service. Unfortunately, that is not what I found. They seemed very overwhelmed ( emails to wrong addresses, incomplete bids, multiple requests for information). Not only that, they tried to hold my car, demanding $950 for taking it apart for a bid. I did not give them permission to take the car apart, just to give me the bid. Additionally, they were supposed to move forward with other damage while bidding the new stuff. They didn't and my car sat with them longer than it should have. This was a cash pay and the bid they gave me was absolutely outrageous. I finally informed them I would be picking my car up and they will put it back to together for NO charge. They complied and picked up my car today. No one tried to make to it right, no one came and talked to me, just let me leave unhappy. Unfortunately, cannot recommend. read more
