Inexpensive, huge, and fascinating museum! The majority of information in the museum is Portuguese. It appears that they are slowly changing over to provide information in English. Even with the language barrier, I enjoyed my visit. A great variety of items and information is available for viewing. Carriages, uniforms, religious relics, etc. It's easy to lose a few hours of time. Staff is friendly, providing direction if you should lose your group. read more

If you have couple hours to spare, stop by to visit! Though some of the displays do not have introduction in English, there are so much to explore nevertheless. You will find that 2€ well spent! And on Sunday, it's free! The museum sits right next to the beautiful garden, makes it very convenient to visit all in the close proximity. read more

The Museu de Angra do Heroismo is centrally located, inexpensive, and fascinating! So much history in one place. This former convent contains a historic church, much of it well-preserved, and a variety of displays detailing Terceira's proud history. The wonderful gardens are right next door, too. Young children might see it as a collection of really old stuff, but there's a lot for them to explore. We highly recommend it. read more
