Despite signing, paying, and being assured by Keys Accounting that everything was handled, the IRS has no record of our business taxes. To make matters worse, our 2023 personal tax return was also never filed, and we are now past the filing deadline. We have since fired Sandra K. Haab after uncovering this negligence, which has left us with unfiled returns, missed deductions, and significant financial consequences. Our experience with Keys Accounting has been deeply disappointing. We hired them in October 2022 to address back taxes, hoping for a resolution. But as of May 2024, promises remain unfulfilled, and we were handed a $10,000 bill for incomplete work. Essential tasks, such as: * Quarterly tax setup, * Payroll processing, and * Filing of 2023 taxes remain undone. The individual responsible for our taxes, Sandra K. Haab, has been consistently unavailable and unresponsive. Important documents were repeatedly lost, requiring us to resend critical information, and key tax credits, like home office, solar purchase, and vehicle deductions, were completely missed. Attempts to raise concerns were met with excuses rather than solutions. We've also learned that many other small businesses in our Florida Keys community have had similar experiences with Keys Accounting. That's right--three years' worth! We signed off, and were told everything was "taken care of." Surprise! Now we're left with unfiled returns, missed deductions, and a tax mess. To be fair, we tried to roll with their challenges--family losses, peak-season vacations, surgeries, key employees leaving you name it. We wanted to be understanding. But our sympathy doesn't pay IRS penalties, and professionalism shouldn't go on holiday.
