Hubby and I visited Magoo's for first time. Irish pub food was on menu. I am always excited for pub food. We arrived greeted warmly by server, ordered a beer and it went downhill from there. Fish and chips are always a fav at most pubs, unfortunately I was served what seemed to warmed up breaded fish I would buy at the grocery store along with oven cooked McCain fries. Was extremely disappointed. I have a beer batter recipe at home and should have made my own with fresh cut fries. And they state the staff takes a yearly trip to Ireland for inspiration? I'd be happy to save you the long trip and join me in my home kitchen and I am just a mediocre home cook. Sorry for harsh review guess I was really craving some awesome fish and chips

Can a place be more awkward panda? We walk in and everyone is confused. We are called customers and we want a drink... we had to explain... so a waitress runs outside and looks at us. We are confused. So we walk outside... assuming she might be our waitress. She's not. so we sit outsid. Our new waiter is better but tells us they have run out of one canned beer. So we pick another one. But then he comes back to tell us they "found one in the back." They didn't let us know it was "diet." My hot chocolate arrives and tastes watered down. We leave as soon as we can.

Great location. The outdoor seating section is very cute. The service was solid as well. But otherwise, the food was nothing to write home about. I would give the food a 2.5/5. Ordered the fish and chips. Chips were eh, you can get better fries down the road at Old Towne. Full Irish breakfast was tasty but not particularly filling. Maybe it would taste better if we had been drinking. Glad we stopped by, but probably won't be back with so many other good spots in town.

Fries that are overloaded with Old Bay.

This is my first time visiting this establishment for carry out. It will likely be my last time. I am NOT a fan of Old Bay seasoning with the exception of crabs and crab cakes if used sparingly. When I returned to work and opened the paper bag, it smelled like I had a dozen steamed crabs in the bag. The odor of the Old Bay permeated all of the food and in my opinion, ruined it! I called the order in and was not informed that the pub owned stock in McCormick (I need a sarcasm font). There was no mention in the online menu. Sandwich was ok but that is all I can say about it. My coworker felt the same about the Reuben. BLECHHHHH

I had driven two hours and was hungry, but I was also committed to making good decisions. Or at least mostly good decisions... The hostess offered me a seat at the second-floor bar rather than the quoted 25-30 minute wait. Great! Solo diners love surprise upgrades. Unfortunately, when I got upstairs, the one "available" seat had apparently been claimed by a diaper bag and a giant straw sunhat belonging to the woman sitting next to it holding a too-little-to-walk baby sitting at the bar. Uhhh...this isn't going to work. Back downstairs I went. I gave them my name and number, found a shady spot outside, and settled in for what I assumed would be a long wait. Five minutes later, my table was ready. Thank you, Universe! My server greeted me with water immediately, explained the QR code menu situation, and told me not to order through the app because she'd be right back. No worries, friend. I'd already done my homework. I knew exactly what I wanted. One Martha Stewart's Prison Pizza ($22), please. (Sausage, broccoli, ricotta, Calabrian chili peppers, lemon oil, and sea salt.) I asked for the chili peppers on the side because I know myself. I like adventure. I don't enjoy possibly setting my mouth on fire. And a Diet Pepsi ($3.50), because balance. While I waited, I people-watched, which is one of my favorite hobbies. White Rabbit was PACKED. The patio was full. The downstairs bar was full. Upstairs was full. Couples, groups of girlfriends, older folks, younger folks, families, solo diners...everyone seemed happy to be there. The place itself is pretty small, which explains the wait. Six tables downstairs, maybe eight bar seats, more seating upstairs, and a constant dance of servers carrying food through the same front door customers use. Add the "please wait to be seated" crowd gathering in the narrow hallway and I'd describe things as organized chaos. But once I was seated, I was perfectly comfortable and out of the traffic pattern. One cool touch I noticed: outlets and USB ports built right into the front of the bar. Maybe that's common and I've somehow missed it all these years, but I thought it was pretty neat. Then my pizza arrived. Oh good lawd. OH. GOOD. LAWD. This pizza was SO GOOD! I knew from the first bite that I was in trouble. There was no sauce, which surprised me at first, but after approximately three seconds I no longer cared. The sausage was plentiful. The broccoli added texture. The ricotta was creamy and rich. And that lemon oil?! That lemon oil set it off! Everything just worked together perfectly. The Calabrian peppers arrived on the side exactly as requested. I bravely sampled a very small amount on my fork before desecrating my pizza and quickly determined that folks with stronger heat tolerance than me will absolutely love them. They were just a little too spicy for my delicate tastebuds. Thankfully, the pizza was incredible without them. And those slices? MONSTERS. I ate one and seriously contemplated a second before reminding myself that I had dessert plans elsewhere. A box was requested. Self-control was exercised. Barely. As a solo diner, I also want to give White Rabbit extra points. Multiple staff members checked on me throughout the meal. I never felt forgotten, rushed, or weird sitting by myself. Everyone was warm, kind, and made me feel completely comfortable. I really appreciated that. My total bill came to $32.44 including tip which felt really reasonable given the amount of pizza I consumed and brought home. Worth every penny. I'm already scheming my next two-hour drive back. Maybe a smashburger. Maybe those Brussels sprouts everyone keeps raving about. Maybe another pizza. Maybe all of it! I highly recommend checking out White Rabbit. Make it a destination, not just a stop while you're in the area. Don't let the size of the place or the wait scare you off. It's totally worth it. PRO TIP: If you park in the Church Street Parking Garage, look for the staircase labeled "STAIR 3." White Rabbit is literally right outside the door at the bottom. No hide-and-seek required!

All of their pizzas look really unique. Table next to us got the one with a lot of pepperoni on it and it looked very good too. I reccomend parking at the Church Street Garage to access the restaurant as it's sort of hard to find parking. Interior was quaint and conservative and our waitress was amazing and very sweet.

We were greeted immediately when we walked in and you could tell many of the folks there were regulars - like a modern Cheers vibe. I even tried my first breakfast stout there (though I probably will never have beer for breakfast in my wiser years)! It is in the same space as a burger spot, which I think is really smart. The taproom at OMB has a warm, Cheers-like vibe (they don't know my name, but I'm working on it!). Their taps feature a rotating selection of light, sour/fruity, hoppy, dark/malty, and non-alcoholic beers. I'm a fan of their various Kolsches, and their stouts are "interesting" (I enjoyed their Morning Ritual Golden Breakfast Stout this week: looks like a lager, with a maple syrup taste that was really refreshing. Guinness it wasn't!). They also offer cocktails and wines for those poor people that can't appreciate a well-crafted, well-poured brews (pagans!). Pours are generous, prices are reasonable, value is great. They even have a selection of board games so you can while away a cold (or hot) evening by yourself or with friends. But wait: there's more... OMB shares space with Backslash Burgers (which was recently renamed from "50/50 Burgers" for what sounds like trademark reasons. Yelp hasn't caught the name change yet. You'll have to look them up under the old name for my (5 star, baby!) review. TLDR: amazing 50% beef/50% bacon smashburgers cooked to order with your choice of toppings, or you can choose from several very interesting regular offers. (If you like heat, try the "I Can't Feel My Face" burger. I dare you...). Sandwiches can be ordered as single or double patties, and can be made with chicken. Large groups can be accommodated, and there are regular events (bands, Night Markets, even a "Paint Your Pet" night are on this month's schedule) to help bring in thirsty and hungry hordes. Trivia Night is every Thursday, and it can get raucous. OMB shares a parking lot across the street with Gravel & Grind bike and coffee shop. It's not easily handicap accessible, with a few steps separating OMB and BB, and since both are self-service that could be a problem, but it's a great place to make helpful friends, no? The hours are also a little quirky for a pub (Monday-Saturday 11AM-10PM, Sunday 11AM-7PM). So, if you find your way to Frederick (and you should!), stop in for a great brew and burger. There was a good selection of breakfast and lunch/dinner items and a wide array of desserts. Since walkways are pretty tight inside the restaurant, it was cramped and I felt like it was in a constant struggle not to get in other people's way. The gentleman carving at the ham station was very kind, and our waitress was helpful. I have no complaints with the service. The issue I had was that the restaurant sat guests in an second-floor event space. That wouldn't be an issue if you didn't have to walk up and down a few flights of stairs with your food. Yes, there was an elevator, but like I said earlier, the number of people made you feel like you were in the way while waiting for it to descend. I thought it was odd that people were seated so far away from the buffet and other guests in the restaurant, especially for the elderly guests. It was raining pretty hard that day, so I'm sure Brewer Alley's plans of seating guests outside was ruined, and that's certainly not their fault.
