Sciple's Water Mill has been in operation in the same location since the 18th century (1790 to be…read moreexact). They use a man-made lake to power the mill which they then use to grind corn and other items, then sell them at the mill or in the East Central Mississippi area. I visited here last year with my wife and in-laws and was impressed with the history of the place and how well of an operation they have there. In addition, they play music on most Friday and Saturday nights, which I have heard is a good time, though I have not experienced it myself. For those that may have heard of this place, but can't quite place where they may have heard of it, the Mill was featured on Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe. If you ever find yourself in rural Mississippi, I highly recommend a visit, and a purchase of some ground corn to make some good homemade bread!
