My favourite is Michael Faraday and his Magnetic Attraction, the Induction Ring. The first Atlantic cable, the long-distance telegraph signalling based on his theory of the electromagnetic field ever changed the way the world communicates. "Science may never come up with a better office communication system than the coffee break" (Earl Wilson) RI's Time and Space coffee bar is a unique place to take a break as the museum fascinates me with its two centuries of great scientific breakthroughs. The coffee/cakes are very affordable compared w/ other museums. The best part is to watch various magnifying glasses hanging in a milk way shape on top of the cafe ceiling :) RI also has a variety of rooms for event hire. For our MIT's 60th alumni club anniversary, I've chosen the stylish Library room overlooking Albemarle Street that holds an fascinating collection of scientific books. After spending the day touring London, hitting Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the London Eye, Etc, this was a refreshing change of pace. If you have any young scientists on your hand, this is where you need to bring them. I remember learning about Faraday as a high school student and always seeing pictures of his famous lectures. I didn't realize it until I saw the Faraday lecture room here, but it's the same one that so many notable scientists have lectured in - Bragg, Dawkins, Sagan, and so many more. The lecture hall is completely open and I can't believe they let you go inside, absolutely no restrictions. Another thing I loved was the self paced tour downstairs. You get to see parts of the lab, and learn about key scientific discoveries that were founded at the Institute. If you've got a spare hour or two, make sure you check this place out!

We didn't spend a lot of time in the theater…read morebefore or after our show, but we enjoyed the extra Totoro decorations, like the exterior wrapping of the building, the abundance of soot sprites hanging above the escalators, the umbrella photo ops inside, and the murals outside. We had no trouble finding our seats, which were located pretty centrally in the middle of the theater. The seats are staggered so even our daughter had a good view. There were free boosters for kids, which was welcome, especially since this is a child-friendly show. It was centrally located in the West End so we had a pub meal immediately before and explored the Covent Garden and Chinatown neighborhoods after.

The character acting was flawless and an absolute masterclass. My main complaints were with the building, which was extremely hard to navigate with limited signage, and the fact it's an ages 4+ requirement and they let in numerous children who clearly were 1-3 years old. The children were so young there were complaints related to their chattering and an attendant had to come out and talk with our section. Would I recommend this over the other shows we've seen in London (The Mousetrap and Hamilton)? No. It's a fun little jaunt, but much less magical than expected. There were numerous backstage gaps in the set which felt jarring and you could clearly see the lace front for almost all wigs used in the production. And sadly, the view from the aisle ends is fairly poor - generally the production is not a good fit for the theater. All in all, it's closing January 2027 so if you're a Studio Ghibli fan, you'll likely enjoy it, but I would make sure to get center stalls or as close to center as you can to get the full effect.

The London Dungeon isn't something I would have seen on my own, but I'm thoroughly pleased I brought my son to see it today. He absolutely loved it, and might have even learned some history along the way. Admission was expensive, but I felt we definitely got our money's worth. Timed tickets worked like a breeze. I bought our tickets for a 2:45 time slot on my phone just ten minutes prior, and when we arrived we walked right in. No line at all. I have a lot of experience in the theater, both acting in and seeing live shows, and I was very impressed by the dedication and talent of all of the actors, as well as all of the sound, lighting and various special effects. The scene with the witch in the cage was particularly excellent. The tour ends with a short "execution" ride, and then out into the macabre gift shop and small pub with a full bar. Would probably be a fun place to stay for a drink after the show. Had a great time and would definitely do it again!

They had some stuff listed at the vortex. It's also really close to a tube station so it's easy to get to without a car. Seating is a little bit cramped, but possible. We didn't really have to wait. After reading about the various Jazz venues in London I was drawn to Vortex because it is affordable and run by volunteers. I was not dissapointed by the music and the venue was better than I expected. Me, I am not that particular so this is my view but others said that it was a bit run down. I suspect that if you are more high brow then Dalston and it's establishments are not for you. The drinks are a bit expensive. The staff are very friendly and casual. As this is the first time I have been to a Jazz venue it is hard to make a comparative review. However we had a good time listening to the music and I would recommend Vortex to anyone who wants to try out the Jazz scene.

The museum has good ancient arm collection. The ancient arm has many types of arm. That includes armor, sword, bow, fire arm and more. Other than arm, the art collection is many types too. Painting has the most in the art collection. Statues and furniture also collect a lot.

The Wallace Collection is a free museum in a beautiful townhome near Manchester Square. I visited…read morewith my husband about two weeks ago to see their current temporary exhibit (more on that below), and we had a great visit. The museum is located in the former townhouse of the Seymore family - the Marquesses of Hertford. The museum is named after Sir Richard Wallace, who built a collection of fine and decorative arts from the 1th to the 19th centuries along, with the Marquesses of Hertford. The collection opened to public view in 1900. The townhouse itself is gorgeous. From the second I walked in and saw the staircase in the Entrance Hall, I knew I was in for a treat. With several gorgeous rooms, the museum is worth visiting to see a beautifully preserved 19th century London townhome. Each room has beautiful chandeliers, furniture, paintings, sculptures, and more. The museum also has a collection of European arms and armor, which take several rooms to display. In addition to their permanent collections, they also show temporary exhibitions. Right now and through November 29, their exhibit is "Winston Churchill: The Painter," which is the first major retrospective of Sir Winston Churchill's paintings since his death and brings together more than 50 of his works (half of which come from private collections). While visiting the museum is free, there is a fee to visit the temporary exhibit (20 pounds for adults, 18 if you buy online ahead of time). The exhibit was incredible and well worth a visit. I learned a lot about Churchill that I didn't know prior to the exhibit (most of what I knew about him concerned his political leadership), and I found many of his paintings quite beautiful and moving. Whether you're visiting for a temporary exhibit or just to see the townhouse and its permanent collection, the Wallace Collection is incredible. It's a special museum in London, well worth including on an itinerary for a trip to London.
