This is a wonderful venue secreted (the perfect adjective) around the corner from Euston Station down a small lane. I was here for the Figaro Digital conference and it was pretty well packed to the rafters when I got there. A warren of stairs, passageways, ante chambers all build around a teeny but comfortable theatre with brilliant acoustics. Each seat has the name of a famous / not so famous comedian on it. Oh oh oh, Its Magic playing in the loos, along with cartoons of Tommy Cooper encouraging you to wash your hands. Brilliant. Kitch, evocative, anachronistic but lovely.

What a fantastic venue, you can just feel the history here. Winding staircase, little rooms and doors everywhere, it has a really unique atmosphere. My only gripe would be that without mixer taps in the toilets the hot water was too hot so it was just easier to use the cold taps, a bit irksome. Pleasant helpful staff.

On the prowl for an up-market "escort"? *This* is your venue. Oy. Seriously. It was actually…read moreuncomfortable sitting in the cocktail lounge next to so many "ladies in red" (literally - I'm not kidding) indifferently sipping their martinis all alone... If the dubious crowd weren't bad enough, the basement club's sound system was WEAK ... so muffled you could barely detect bass... I've had better speakers in a rental car. The mainly Russian crowd seemed to be enjoying themselves - dancing around their tables with relish... but we just couldn't get into it So... put-off by the harlots and bored of the music, we wandered upstairs to the casino. It was like a scene out of an old Western movie. A stagnant empty room with exactly TWO men drinking Scotch and playing Blackjack. The rest of the dealers were just shuffling their cards... "Is it always like this?" I asked one of them. "It's been a quiet week," he replied... (Or perhaps year? I wondered... judging from the staleness in the air...) Undaunted by the eerie scene, my friend bought some chips for a bit of roulette. Twenty minutes later, and my friend at least that many quid poorer, we left. More than anything, FIFTY London just felt depressing. I don't know what it was like a year or two ago... maybe it can *be* happening... but the night I was there, it felt like it had bitten the recession dust pretty hard.

I have never had a bad evening and it's a venue for all types of company from taking my Mother to a date to a night out with the girls. I highly recommend but the previous reviewer is correct that you have to be a member or a guest of a member!

Came here for pre-theater anniversary dinner with my wife. The ambiance was somewhere between that of a trendy club and nice bar. There was a mad scientist vibe with the lights being industrial vibe and some metal decor. The music was thumpy and loud enough to remind you it was there. It made me feel a bit out-of-place as somebody well past my 20s, but also a bit cool or being there. You really come here for the drinks. We got the pipe dream, smokey old fashioned, honeypot picante, and one other I can't remember the name of, but which came in a flower pot. The pipe dream and smokey old fashioned were likely the best. Overall the drinks were more visually appealing than traditionally good and the visually appealing ones tended to have ingredients that weren't as top shelf and/or they were just too sweet. Not bad, but disappointing for what we'd hope. The food was the opposite. I had low expectations and the food wasn't amazing, but was better than average. We got the bao buns, crispy duck pancakes, panko halloumi, katsu curry, and hot honey pork tacos. They arranged for it all to come out in time for us to make our theater show, which was nice. The bao buns and pork tacos were probably the best. Neither blew me away, but both were solid. The katsu curry and halloumi were standard of what you might expect. The crispy duck pancakes was maybe as advertised, but it would have been nice to have some moistness or substance to the dug vs. it basically being crunchy salty bits of something. Overall, this wasn't a bad meal, but it wasn't quite what I was hoping for either. We may be back, but we'll probably try other things first.
