At almost 1,000 miles away from the party location, it was important to have all the details laid out and understood! Chef Bananas was amazing! He was very easy to talk to, quick to respond, super professional, and the kids LOVED him! What we loved most about his show was it was actually a show! This was just not a few magic tricks here and there...it was a real show with a real production!! Chef Bananas arrived early (as discussed) to set-up! Set-up you ask? YES! Stage, lights, music, props, you name it!! The only thing not included with Chef Bananas were the kids! He made everything look so easy. Chef Bananas did not need any help setting up, so I tried to just stay out of his way so he could get on with it! It was entire set with intro music as the kids gathered, to picture opportunities with props at the end! The kids and the adults loved every minute of it! Most of our guests were over the age of 2, but even with my 2-year old, he was able to complete his show without craziness!!! Another cool aspect of Chef Bananas is he makes it a priority to include guests in the show. It was great! He really made the kids feel like they were included in the birthday party. I later learned that some of the guests went home and asked their mom and dad for Chef Bananas at their party! From the start- he was friendly and professional on the phone and very accomodating while selecting a performance date and time. He was on time (big one) and set up his awesome set complete with backdrop and his own sound system. The kids LOVED him! He was energetic, funny, and kept the kids engaged the entire show. They were laughing, dancing, clapping, and raising their hands the whole time. He had a great costume and many props (the kids loved his banana phone). Show length selected and jokes/music/dancing/magic were perfect for this age group. I can say Chef Bananas has his act down pat. Everything from set up to break down went very smooth and the kids had a blast! He allows all the kids to be as interactive as they would like to be and he is incredibly patient with the crowd. She was a pro and so kind from the beginning, from explaining the process, to consulting about the outfit, taking the photos, and assisting with selection afterwards - she was wonderful! Both kids were immediately comfortable with her and she took lots of time, energy, creativity, and patience to ensure we got some great shots to choose from. What I will remember about the studio sessions was how joyful they were, how much we all laughed. The finished portraits continue to bring us joy. Such a nice reminder of how fast the time goes, and our children love looking at them and are proud to show them off. Shana is right, they do instill a sense of belonging in kids and remind them how loved they are. They've been a wonderful investment and are probably my most cherished possessions!

I was half convinced we'd end up with at least one of us crying in each shot, one with their eyes closed, and one hitting someone else. But Heidi made this such an easy endeavor- she's so fun and great with the kids, and most of all, everything felt relaxed and natural. I really dislike overly posed or contrived looking photos, but everything came out looking so real. No cheesy poses or smiles! She even managed to get some good ones of me!
