I would not recommend this store to a would be bride. I arrived to try on some wedding dresses and…read morewas told by staff that I could pick any dress of the rails and they could alter it up or down loads of sizes regardless of size. I was later told by the dress fitter at the bridal shop I bought my dress from that this is nonsense and loads of dresses would just not sit right if altered too dramatically. The changing rooms are small and cramped and I had about 5 children peeping through the curtains at me while I was trying on dresses. Not really appropriate for a shop to allow children to run riot when people are trying to try on wedding dresses. For one of the most important days of your life this place seems a bit amateurish to deal with.

i ordered my dresses 16 mths before my wedding with 50% deposit. the run up to the wedding was…read morephone calls (me doing the calling) texing and excuses from the boss shop.i was told quite a few times my dresses would be ready but the night before or the day we were supposed to go and see the dresses the boss would tex me and say the dresses were not ready with a promise i would get my dresses for my wedding. i never recieved the dresses i ordered and 5 days before my wedding i was given 2 dresses in a different colour and a promise of a refund to which i am still waiting. i am just wondering if this shop has changed to all things bridal does anybody know as both have the same phone number and address. i hope they have changed the owners aswell as a year after my wedding -still no refund surprise surprise.

I went to this lady to alter a bridesmaid dress. When i went in to the shop, i told her i had about…read more6 weeks until i had to leave for the wedding in California. This was my major mistake. I was told she would come back to me in a couple of days. After a week of not hearing anything, i phoned in. She told me she hadn't been well, could i come in next week. Sure. Next week i went in to be told she STILL hadn't done anything (at this stage it was just to take some stitching out to see what extra fabric we could work with). She eventually had me back in to try the dress on after 3 weeks of having it. She and i discussed options, agreeing on a glamour panel and ribbons in a corset style up the back. A week later she still hadn't been out to look for the fabric. Realising i was fast running out of time i told her a little fib, and said i was leaving 5 days earlier than i was (in 3 days time). She gasped. I reminded her she had been given the dress over a month ago, She assured me she would get out at the weekend and get this fabric and text or call me with an update. By the monday morning you can imagine the stress i was experiencing having heard nothing about the progress of my dress. The shop usually opens around half past nine. When i walked past at half ten and it still wasn't open, i chanced my arm and popped into the dogs trust jsut along the road, where often enough, there is a sign in the alterations place directing you to ask for her there. When i asked the lady in the charity shop, she told me that the woman wasn't in because she was desperately trying to find fabric for a dress that had to be done tomorrow (mine). The woman from the alterations place eventually called me around 11am ,saying that she had the fabric and my dress would be ready for 2pm. At this point as far as the woman knows i am flying out at 7am the next day. I get to the shop at 2, pick up my dress and here comes the bit i was really dreading....the price. She does admit that she has messed me about, so she won't charge me £80, but will take £60. All she has done is put a few metal rivets along where the zip is, threaded some thick satin ribbon through them, and added in a glamour panel at the back, She didn't even remove, or attempt to disguise the original zip that the dress came with. At this point, i was glad to have a dress for a wedding happening in a week. In California. I took the dress and left. Now i should point out that when i got the dress, i tried it on, put it straight back in the bag it came in, and took it to the alterations place. At no point when i went in did i see my dress in a protective bag. This woman claims to do bridal alterations, and keeps all the clothes in a VERY dusty (i was in there changing once, lucky me) back room. I wish i had checked the dress more carefully because when i tried it on the night before the wedding, i noticed two oily marks on it. One was about the size of your thumb, and one was about half the size of that. I just feel that this was a completely negative experience and i will NEVER go back to this business.
