I had a group of 10 come and play, booked tee time 2 weeks in advance for a bachelors trip. They proceeded to assure me that our tee time would be good to go, I called 2 days in advance and said the same. The morning of the tee time they pushed my time back because they were busy. I understand how busy courses can get, I work at a course, but a tee time is a tee time, when you push a tee time, you ruin chances for big plans later in the day. I had to scramble to get everything else pushed back. They did accommodate us with free range balls (which you can't hit driver on), and made us popcorn. They were very upset that they had to change plans for us. When we arrived (when they said we would be good to go), they said that it was taking even longer than expected and we proceeded to absolutely sweat in the hot humid weather. We got to the first tee and the group that was infront of us (the reason we couldn't tee off) had the manager of the course, Chris, playing. I understand that you need to play with the seniors sometimes to keep relations, I've done this before at the course I work at, but if it's crazy busy, your job needs to supersede your golf round. The tee boxes look like they havent been mowed in weeks, there were fire ants all over the 3rd tee box and we got bit and stung all over, and the greens play like fairways at a shitty course. And also, even though the course is called lake side, don't expect to see the lake, the only water they have is a fountain that you can't see from the 3rd tee box (which is where it is), and a pond that is the same color as an abused porta-potty bathroom. Let me reiterate, the people were very friendly and super helpful and accommodating to our situation, but the greens keepers need to step up

Just know if you play here now the greens are terrible...So why a "3"? Cause from tee to green this course was an ass kicker and in overall decent shape...it's old, hilly and narrow...been around since at least the 50's...the golf pro was telling me that back in the day when gambling was legal and Hot Springs had several casinos the Belvedere was the top o' the heap... This course was like that once vibrant starlet that thru the years saw her beauty fade but was strong enough to watch it fade with grace and character....Excellent test of ball striking to be found on this course, just do like me and my boys did...once you put your ball on the dance floor it's a gimme 2 putt and move on....plus greens fees are only $25 which pretty much covers the cost of the cart cause they ain't trying to screw you over considering the condition of the greens

This was our first time ever to Hot Springs so I had no previous experience here nor anyone to rely on for course info on where to play. As the other post says, the greens are gone. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. I wanted to play here b/c of the hilly terrain as we don't have this kind of layout in the DFW area. Rough was way too deep, and there were 1 foot tall weeds on the tee boxes! What bunkers were not completely grown in w/ grass, then the sand is all washed out. It's a beautiful layout if it was just maintained. I spoke to the cart boy at the end of the round. He said it was just him, his dad & uncle doing 100% of the work and have been forced to terminate the entire grounds crew, hence why roughs are so deep and greens are lost due to no greens crew being able to mist the greens throughout the day. His grandmother is a partial owner and was a LPGA pro back-in-the-day. and partial owner. Apparently $$$ is the only thing stopping them, Apparently there is a pissing match between her and the other own and the family is trying to get the funds to buy enough shares to take control of the course. Some real potential here, sad to see the greens are so bad.

They had a large group of camp kids and the manager was really nice about warning us there could be delays and we could jump ahead and circle back, but it wasn't an issue. You choose between 2 courses that wind around and are all 2-3 par holes. There are also a few spots at the exit where you can snap photos. Reasonable pricing and you can choose to do one 18 hole course and then add another later for only $5 (if you aren't sure how long it will take or if kids will like it)

The tee boxes were nicely done; the fairways were cut just right; and the greens, while not our favorite kind of grass, were consistent and in good condition. The Pro in the shop gave us a great overview of the course ... keeping our balls straight down the fairways, and prepared us for the challenging doglegs. The par 5 18th hole was certainly tough with an uphill right-angled dogleg to finish. We highly recommend it!

The greens were so slow because of not being cut in a long time. Any other golf course would close the greens and repair them. The fairways had weeds growing in the middle of them and where there weren't weeds it was rocks and hard pan dirt.It was a pretty miserable round of golf that we paid $57 per person.
