Winners - This location has lots of luxury brands. This Yves Saint Laurent bag was "marked down" to $2700. Still too expensive for me. Haha.

TL;DR/The Short Version: Large, but busy and crowded store…read more More luxury brands here than other downtown Winners locations. The Longer Version: This location is inside Place Montreal Trust. It's on the most lower level of the mall. Same level as the Food Court. It has the largest selection of luxury brands of all the downtown-ish Winners (more than the Alexis Nihon, Complexe Desjardins and Peel Winners). I spotted an Yves Saint Laurent bag for $2700. They had Gucci shoes, sunglasses and hats. Some Chloe, Ferragamo, and Valentino bags too. And other brands. Their luxury brands are locked up in glass displays so you have to get a staff member to unlock it for you. The contemporary brands like Coach, Michael Kors, Ted Baker, and Kate Spade are out and about for you to handle on your own. This location is large and has a jewelry section and children's clothing and shoes as well (these sections are the first to be cut in the smaller "urban concept" stores, and even though this location is urban it's definitely a full-sized store). It has the usual women's and men's clothing and shoes and housewares. It's also always busy and crowded. So my feelings about it are mixed. I love the size and large selection but I hate the crowds. This visit I purchased a nice winter hat that was made in Canada. It can get busy here with lots of folks in the aisles and long lines, but on the afternoon we visited, it was not particularly busy. She said for me to finish packing my items and wait over there (She gestured to the front door.) I asked her to please call for help now because I could not stand to wait. I repeated that I felt faint. She rolled her eyes and got someone to load my buggy. He passed me off to two lovely young men who seemed to be collecting carts. They were wonderful, courteous and kind. I am so upset that there seems to be absolutely no awareness of a senior with mobility issues and feeling faint. The cashiers must be told to go as fast ass they can but I could not go fast and needed help. That will be the last time I shop at that Walmart. I havw never ben treated so badly at other Walmarts.

When I went to my local Walmart, it was being sold for $230+taxes and Walmart.ca was selling it for $130+taxes. I went there on Saturday December 5 and they were following the new government directives about the maximum number of people based on the area of the establishment. Even though there wasn't a line and I was able to enter the store immediately, besides the greeter verifying that the person sanitized their hands when entering, there was someone there with a clicker counting the number of people entering. I don't know how this would work since people were exiting at another doorway which was far enough away that the person with the clicker near the entrance was not tracking the people leaving. This Walmart Supercenter is a nicer Walmart Supercenter than the one that I normally visit in Ville Saint-Laurent. I'm not just saying that because the Walmart in Ville Saint-Laurent was selling the Instant Pot for $230+taxes but this Walmart just seemed to be cleaner and better organized. This Walmart also has a McDonald's in it which the one in Ville Saint-Laurent doesn't. I managed to find the Instant Pot that I was looking for at the special sale price and went to the self checkout aisle to pay for the purchase. Once I paid, I went towards the area where I entered and noticed it was cordoned off so people had to exit at another door. I went to the exit and the security guard at the exit verified my bill as I left (as he did with others as well). As Walmart locations go (at least with the ones that I've visited), I would say that this one is one of the better ones on the island of Montreal so I will give them 5 stars. There might be better Walmart locations in Montreal but out of the 3 that I visit occasionally, the Walmart in Lasalle (on Newman) is at the top of my list. I'm comparing this Walmart with the one in Ville Saint-Laurent, the one near Namur metro, and the one in Plaza Cote-des-Neiges (and compared to those other 3 Walmart locations, this Walmart is very good).

The Long Version: I love Place Alexis Nihon because it has both a Winners AND a Marshalls, my favourite stores to shop at, lol. Well, my newest obsession is house plants, so on my on my most recent trip to Place Alexis Nihon, I had to check out this Canadian Tire to see their plant section. I was a bit surprised to see that they have a little temperature and humidity controlled greenhouse. I saw temperature and humidity gauges around and it felt warmer and more humid in there than regular indoor environments. All the other Canadian Tire stores I've been to, just have their plants in an area in their store, but not climate controlled to be different than the rest of the store. Anyway, it was fun poking around. Since I was on vacation and traveling by train, I was limited in what I could buy, so I didn't make any plant purchases, but they had really cute mini Swiss Cheese plants. I love plants with fenestrated leaves but they are mostly huge, but they had small ones here. As you all know, I'm an equal opportunity shopper, lol, I'll look at plants from big box stores as well as small plant boutiques. I would say that despite being a big box store, the plants here seem well cared for. The rest of the is similar to other Canadian Tire locations. Review #69 (2025)
