I came to them in person to make my appointment as I wanted to make sure it was a high end salon. They assured me that they would do a good job. So I made an appointment with them #1 - I began to be concerned when the gal started putting them on way faster than I'd ever experienced. #2 - When I opened my eyes at the end my eyes were burning from the glue. # 3 - My left eye in the inner corner was irritating me and when I looked closer I realized she did not taper do the length. The corner lash was so long it was hitting the top above my eye lid #4 - When I got home I looked at them in my magnifying mirror and realized the individual lashes were not curling up in a natural fashion. They were going different directions. #5 - I tried to brush them to get them going up and curl but the brush snagged in the excessive glue. There was no way for me to separate the lashes that she had stuck together. I went back to them and told her my issues and needed to have them removed because I was ripping out my natural lashes every time I brushed them out. She told me she had never had that happen to her before, she blamed the glue. I've got enough experience with extensions to know that it was the way she applied them. She said she was not able to take them off that day but could do so another day. I ended up not even going back for the removal appointment as I lost all confidence in her.

Dr. Wright and his staff were extremely caring. He listened to me in an extremely open fashion. My specific issues were asymmetry and ptosis. Some of it had to do with the time that had passed since the initial surgery in Los Angeles (20 years) and some had to do with having given birth. Dr. Wright was very frank with me on what my options were -- his office provided me with 4 quotes on different methods that could be used to achieve the result I wanted. Although I wanted the implants removed, we chose to do an explant as opposed to an en bloc removal due to the lack of conclusive evidence for BII (I have fatigue and anxiety, but truth be told those can be attributed to many things up to and including breast implants -- I'm a toddler mom, so it would be a miracle if I weren't fatigued most of the time). The day of surgery Dr. Wright was late getting started, but it was due to the previous patient -- he stated he wanted to make sure her results were as close to perfect as possible. It comforted me to know that he takes that sort of pride in his work. I would much rather have him take as much time as necessary as opposed to rushing. Dr. Wright called my home that evening to check on me and provided my mom with his cell phone. My tube removal and follow-ups went well. I had no trouble getting in or being seen. My tubes were removed by Paige, his RN. Almost 3 months out now, I'm thrilled with my results. I'm a full 32 C cup. My scars are fading and the placement ensures that even once the redness fades they will be very inconspicuous. I would highly recommend Dr. Wright for this procedure.

On this day, I was taking a 10-year-old daughter who lost her police officer father in the line of duty on a belated Christmas shopping trip to honor her loss. Sadly, Ulta didn't feel the same way, as shown by the treatment towards her and those accompanying her that day. I had tried calling for two weeks before our trip to Ulta to speak to the GM to see if they could make her day special by offering her a discount or some beauty samples, but the manager was never available. Based on the rude attitude I received on the phone every time I called, I doubt my messages were passed on to her. This should have been a premonition of how our visit would go. Our only shining light that day was Danielle. She was wonderful! She helped us throughout our shopping experience, giving us ideas of what our 10-year-old guest might like and taking us straight to the register to ring us up. She was truly lovely and is a benefit to the Ulta brand. Things only went down from here on out. The rudest person was the sales girl wearing a white top and short, messy brown hair who was ringing up customers next to us. She purposely yelled and was super loud to drown out Danielle's and mine conversation so we couldn't hear each other. She kept frowning at me and those with me. I found out afterward that while we were checking out, this girl approached my party, standing at the front of the store, and told them in the meanest way that they were blocking customers, which they were not, and they needed to leave. By this time, we had been joined by our special guest, a local, very well-known police officer who told her she was insulting and he wanted to speak to the manager. When the manager, Kristi, came over, she defended her staff but acknowledged she knew who the officer was and didn't make them move. Kristi then came over to me, and I again asked if there was anything she could do for our guest. She was adamant that Ulta couldn't even give her one beauty sample! I couldn't believe that Ulta wouldn't do one thing for this child who lost her father and sacrificed his life for others. I'd like you to know that I have been taking children on shopping trips like these for 7 years, and your store is the ONLY one that has never offered anything to a child. You should be ashamed of yourselves. In December, I took two teenage sisters to Sephora, and they tripped over themselves helping us! They gave the girls two bags filled to the top with samples, and they were thrilled! It doesn't take much to make these kids happy, but it also doesn't take much to show them that they don't matter. Congratulations.

FYI....four years ago, QVC bought out Lancome and Belk was forced to remove Lancome, Christian Dior and and Mac brands and all fragrances from the Belk store in Branson. However, Ulta has all the good brands of makeup and fragrance, and a little bit less expensive .....plus their employees are nice and helpful. The only thing I would recommend is actually giving a sample here or there of the fragrances, especially during the holidays and having someone available to show the fragrances that knows what they're talking about because they keep their fragrances locked in cabinets and you can't even smell them to see which one you want to purchase.

I always go with my husband on a Saturday, and recently when we dropped in, we found the spring sale whittled down to half-of-half-of-half on an outdoor rack. A very friendly sales assistant greeted us and started a changing room for me. When we were finished perusing the items, she led us to it and offered us both something to drink. We declined this time, but I have often taken them up on the offer, especially if I had a lot of items to try. Every single year, I find one or two (or three!) gems at this sale, things I wear for years and on which I get compliments for years. But this year, I walked more carefully through the rest of the store, not just to ogle the $3,000 suits and dresses, but to see what they had in other price ranges, and they really do have some affordable and beautiful pieces that you wouldn't necessarily have to wait for the sale to buy. Barbara Jean's most wonderful attribute is that the sales associates are ALWAYS friendly and welcoming. There are other "expensive" boutiques in Little Rock that definitely do NOT share this feature -- it's as if you have to prove to them you are worthy to shop there. When the time comes for me to buy a really expensive piece, those stores will not be my destination of choice. Barbara Jean will!

I browsed around for a while to see if someone would eventually ask if I needed help, but no one did. There were two white women shopping in the store, and I noticed the employees were actively assisting them. I'm African American, and I was standing nearby browsing on my own. There was also another gentleman who was assisting one of the customers, and at no point did anyone step away for even a moment to acknowledge me or ask if I needed help. I understand employees may be helping other customers, but a simple "Hi, we'll be with you shortly" goes a long way. As a African American customer, being the only person in the store who wasn't acknowledged while white customers were being assisted made me uncomfortable and left me questioning why I was treated differently. I ultimately left without purchasing anything. Customer service and making every customer feel welcome matters, and unfortunately, I did not feel welcomed during my visit.
