Probably the best food we had in Valparaiso. Really well made with vibrant Peruvian flavors…read more Everyone liked their dish, so it's hard to say what's better. Tuna in 4 cheeses was well balanced between the cheese sauce and mashed potatoes. Octopus was served with celery and avocado, and inc flavored mayonnaise, which also made a good combination.

For the die-hard aficionado, finds like this don't happen every day. Quick, polite staff give you a run-down of what's what, take your order when you're ready, and turn it around very quickly. Two to four servers manage about eight tables downstairs and a banquet-room upstairs without missing a beat, moving very swiftly around the floor while being courteous & relaxed with customers, never making you feel rushed. The first surprise with the food is that the presentation is very showy. Many dishes look a little like tropical birds. Someone in the kitchen is not fooling around. These plates are large and very ornate, with bright pink sauce drizzles and architectural yam and yuca stilts strategically planted over carefully molded rice and thoughtfully distributed ingredients, announcing that this is no ordinary plate of food. And then on to the tasting. Perfectly cooked rice, firm but tender calamari, and fish marinated to perfection resting on artfully contrasting sauces. Flavors are fresh, permeating, and not overbearing, with a harmonious combination that manages to compliment the identity of each ingredient in a way that belies the heavy Asian influences in traditional Peruvian food. This is very hearty gourmet food, or very gourmet hearty food. Not sure which way to go on that one. Either way, you win. The ornate presentation seems almost out of place, but in no way detracts from the outstanding care the kitchen obviously takes in selecting ingredients, controlling freshness, and executing recipes with excellence and consistency. We walked in on a week-day evening after being underwhelmed by a well-reviewed restaurant nearby, and liked it so well we went back for lunch the next day, and were treated to exactly the same experience and food as the night before, despite the different mix of customers with more locals and faster tables. This will be on our list of required stops in Valparaiso for years to come.

Location Central -…read morenear the Bus Terminal, Lider, Plaza Vina and plenty of shopping Food The food is delicious. I generally stick to seafood (shrimp, salmon, etc) but my dining mates have ordered other items too (steak, chicken, etc) and it's ALL good. I haven't received something I didn't like there. The food is flavorful and well seasoned. It's an oasis in a land of under-seasoned food. The salmon menuiere and the shrimp in some sort of Peruano sauce are my favorites. The pisco sours are good too! I went off course and ordered a flavored (raspberry) pisco - and it's just divine! The prices are fair - definitely not cheap, but not very expensive either. Expect an entree to be about 8500 CLP. Atmosphere/decor The atmosphere is casual. Main seating is upstairs. Service Service was fine. Service in Chile is a bit less attentive than what we are accustomed to in the United States, but no problems here. Recommendation Definitely go! Good food.

Eh, I'm not much into Peruvian food, but this was what was around that had ample variety of food…read moreand plenty of seating. We went in and were attended rather quickly. The food took a little while, but it was the lunch rush and the restaurant was packed to the brim. He had a Corona, I had a ginger ale. He ordered the lomo saltado and inhaled it. I went the safe route and ordered some fried chicken and fries. The actual plate itself was massive and I easily had enough for two, even three meals. Unfortunately th food was average at best. Again, not my type. Maybe I'm being cruel in only saying the food was okay, but it just wasn't anything memorable in either a positive or negative manner. It is what it is. The food made it so we didn't to hungry and that was that.
