Small town bar and grill that has some good food to offer. Pizza is their thing with various choices of pizzas, flatbreads, and calzones. The Irish Pizza is perhaps one of the greatest pizzas I've ever tasted - corned beef, sauerkraut, and thousand island. Sounds gross, right? My goodness it was good. The wings were decent with their signature dry rub. The other food that came out while waiting for ours looked good. Service was ok. It was a Friday night and fairly busy, so patience and understanding was good. A table near us had an order messed up and the staff was quick to make it right. Mistakes happen! The beer was basic macro-brew offerings. Thankfully, they had a Goose Island offering. Overall, a basic sports bar setting with high tops, booths, and tables. The best part of my meal was the pickle. The 2 salads that came out (I sent back one) had obviously been pre-made for the 15 people lunch rush that they had. Frozen Iceberg lettuce, 2 slices of old cucumbers, 2 cherry tomatoes, with crappy croutons and the bad ranch dressing. For lunch I had a BLT in which the toast was burnt (on all sides, not black but dark brown), 1 tomato, 1 leaf of lettuce, and they splurged with 3 pieces of fried bacon. The waffle fries were awful, the seasoned sour cream was disgusting (sour cream and taco seasoning), but at least my waitress was attentive and took pity on me for having to eat this. I'm looking forward to being sick later today and watching this bar on 'Bar Rescue' or whatever spinoff Gordon Ramsey is doing on bad restaurants... the pickle was the best part of the meal. read more

Worst restaurant experience I've ever had, besides our server Gina, she was such a doll and has a MAJOR backbone just keeping a smile on her face after being put through the B.S. that the owner gives her and every other employee. Food was terrible, cooks are sweating on it, arguments are shouted across the restaurant. The owner is the #1 reason this place will NOT stay afloat. Please stop pre-making salads, it's a bad idea. After getting home, and reading a couple of reviews. I see that it's a common practice at this restaurant. I was surprised when I got my salad it appeared that something was stacked on top of it I soon realized by the condition it was pre- made and they had stacked one on top of the other. The lettuce was in terrible condition and had a lot brown spots and soft spots. The wait time was not good considering the amount of people in the place. The food was ok, it did take very long time close to an hour for a couple of steaks a calzone and fettuccine. We did have a couple of apps cheese curds and steak bits. Ok at best, the best part was the beer it was very cold and good. If you're stopping in have a couple of beers. read more

This is quite a saga, and I apologize for the rant- Loved this place until tonight. Staff had always been great, and frankly so was the food, but after one interaction with the owner we're done. Heck, I'm sure he's even a good guy normally, and maybe it was an off night, like it was for me after returning from 6 days business travel. Who knows, but all my GF wanted was to relax and get an order of fries with seasoned sour cream, her favorite and the one thing she always orders there (which was weekly since our first visit a couple months ago). Pick up our order, my salad, her fries, drive home 10 miles away, no sour cream, which I'd ordered extra of specifically, and was paying for. Not a big deal, but the fries don't exist without it for her. I called back and the young lady asked what they could do, even offering to have some delivered, which I'd never expect them to do at the distance. When I requested maybe a free order of fries next time (they're $5 bucks, and ours were not going to be eaten) the owner got on the phone, said he had pushed the button for sour cream, but apparently it didn't register. He said he wouldn't charge me for the extra sour cream (wow, 50 cents, thanks!), but he wouldn't give us a cheap order of fries to save our business over "a simple mistake." Not like I asked for all of our food for free, or hell, even for the order of fries we'd gotten but wouldn't be eating to be free...just one order next time to replace what we weren't going to enjoy tonight. I know this seems like BS complaining, but I was shocked at the attitude and taken aback, and after the week I'd just had, I guess I had to share. People, don't treat customers like this. I wasn't being unfair. Just seemed like such a waste of a regular customer. Too bad, we really liked this place too and spoke highly of it, past tense intended. read more

I am going to start off by saying management is needed in this business! First off our waitress could not get our drinks right, but I do not blame her because it was her second day working there and she had a lot on her plate. Next, our food took nearly an hour and a half to get out to us, and a lot of us reported our food was cold and not to the quality we would have expect coming from and hour+ wait. Another thing we noticed was the table that was sitting next to us left after being told their food wouldn't be delivered to them. Now I am not going to be mean and make this a negative review more as a constructive criticism, but I hope this business will take this as a learning experience. Thank you so much! read more

I have been here about a dozen times. It's your typical small town bar but the food is better than you would expect. The pizza and calzones are my favorite. They make their own dough so it is not your average bar pizza. The burgers are fantastic and I can't go there without putting down a dozen buffalo wings along with a few ice cold Nordeasts. read more

We went to Madigans for dinner tonight (6/28) and had the worst service ever. We got to the table and ordered both our drinks and dinner. Once our server had brought our drinks, we did not see her again for over half hour. The restaurant was not busy at this point. At this point, we had to ask our server (once she was found), what the status of our food was. She then told us that the computer had "deleted our order and had not gone through to the kitchen" and wanted to know if we wanted her to ring it in again. She would not have even noticed this huge error if we did not inquire about our food. After we told her that we did not want to have her put in our order, she still made us pay for our drinks...that we had to wait half hour to get refills on. She stood by the table to ensure that she would get compensated for this order. This is by far the worst service we have ever received and will not be going back to Madigans in the future for any food or drinks. read more

Went for a drive today and stopped here for a beer and appetizer. Ordered. Bartender seemed much more interested in the guys at the end of the bsr. I fairness probably regulars. Asked after 30 minutes where the app was. It was coming. Finally arrived. Wrong thing. . They offered to start over but didn't want to wait. Wife wanted to lose some money at pull tabs but took another 2 minutes to get first set. Face up and went to The V right across the field. Much better people. If I could give this place -0 stars I would. I ordered broiled walleye. It was luke warm,raw. no sear on the outside. It was not busy. I sent it back. 30 minutes went by my husband had finished his meal. My server never checked back nor did she roust the cook as to where my food was. By that time I was forced to go find our server and tell her I no longer wanted the meal. I expressed my disappointment. Nothing was done to make up for it! I got the feeling I was being punished for sending my raw fish back! 5 years ago this was a great place! It just keeps getting worse! We used to be regular customers. I went to dinner tonight with my mother in-law, brother in-law, nephew, husband, and son to Madigans Pub in Maple Lake, MN. My son has an allergy to Milk Protein, which means that he cannot have anything containing milk product. While looking at the kid's menu I saw that they had Fettuccini with Marinara sauce (spaghetti). I asked the server to verify for me that this did not contain Cheese, Butter or any other Milk product in the Spaghetti and could be cooked in a clean pan. She came back and assured me that nothing contained milk in the Spaghetti. After the dinner came, my son had two bites of his spaghetti and said that his mouth felt funny, I looked at him and his lips were swollen and he was starting to break out in hives around his mouth. I immediately put the plate at the end of the table and asked the waitress to bring us a hamburger and French fries, without asking if there was anything wrong with the Spaghetti, she said OK and turned to walk away. I immediately went to the two different gas stations in town to see if I could get some Benadryl for my son while my husband and mother in-law sat with my son. When I got back with Benadryl, my husband told me he had spoken to the Owner of the company (Chris) and that he immediately got attitude from him stating that it wasn't his fault and he would not do anything about this. They would not take the Spaghetti off of our bill as something else was ordered in replacement and they insisted that there was no milk in the Spaghetti. I talked to our server letting her know that I would pay the bill but I would not pay for the Spaghetti as my son had a moderate reaction to it and was not able to eat it. The owner (Chris) then came over and told me it was not their fault so there for we were liable for paying for the product as he couldn't say what we had fed my son previously to going there. For those with allergies to food, know that when you have a food that you are allergic to, the reaction is almost immediate. He told me that we were legally responsible for paying for it and would call the police if we would not pay for his $6.00 kid's meal. I asked him to please call the cops, and he walked away and said "Forget it" with a few other choice words. As we started to leave the establishment, he followed us out and continued to yell at us saying that if we don't know what our child could eat, then we should not bring him out to eat. I refuse to believe that just because you have a food allergy you are not allowed to go out to eat at an establishment, as I learned that this is possible being a server and dealing with this issue daily. This also was not the issue as he has eaten Spaghetti at many different restaurants with no issues. He said it was our fault for not asking for a manager immediately, and if we had then they would have covered the cost. I am sorry, but I have served for about 7 years of my life, and if someone ever sent a meal back the first words out of my mouth has been "Is there something wrong", our waitress just said OK and walked away. While I was saying this he continued to scream at me and told me that I was a psychotic f*ck*ng b*tch. Yes, when it comes to my son's life, I suppose I am. To me it was not a matter of $6.00, it was a matter of the fact that a $6.00 meal could have ended my sons life had it been worse, and the owner chose to blame me for being a bad parent for not knowing and take no responsibility. I am not saying that they did this on purpose, as who would? My problem is the way that they handled the situation, blaming the parents and showing no respect for the life of a 7 year old boy. My son was scared that his parents were going to jail because he said he was calling the police in front of him and him feeling like he had done something wrong. This is not something that should ever happen, nor should it ever happen to a 7 year old child. This will be the last time I am ever in this establishment, as I hope it will be for many people. I will be getting this story out to as many people as possible. Help support a law that restaurants are responsible for verifying that foods are allergy safe and standing behind it. read more
