One of my partner's favorite dishes is the Bandeja Paisa and because of this he has pretty high standards to make it onto his list of favorite Colombian restaurants (highly sought after, I assure you). Lucky for Madera y Carbón, they have just been added to the list. We came a few weeks back after our trip to Colombia and my partner was hankering for a Bandeja Paisa. After an arduous Google search, he picked Madera y Carbón. We headed over with our stomaches grumbling (seriously, the Google search took forever) and with thoughts of warm frijoles, patacones and fried eggs in our minds. When we got to Madera y Carbón, we were sat quickly and the staff (mostly Colombian) were super nice! We started with one of their delicious fresh juices and ordered our bandejas - I asked to change a few things to make it vegetarian and they were more than accommodating - even give me extra avocado and platano frito to make up for the lack of meat. Overall, a great experience with good food and very filling! Parcero, I definitely recommend coming here to try typical Colombian food and drinks - try the jugo de lulo!
