We were initially very excited to book Madeline for our wedding; however, we were ultimately disappointed with the quality of the photographs delivered.
The images did not meet the standard presented on her website. The attention to detail was lacking, and we had to request multiple rounds of edits. Even after revisions, we remained dissatisfied. Much of the "editing" appeared to consist primarily of applying black-and-white filters, and we had to specifically request that distracting objects and people be removed to make several photos usable.
Key moments were not captured effectively.
During our vows, Madeline photographed from the opposite end of the room, resulting in guests' heads occupying a large portion of the frame while my partner and I appeared too distant for our faces to be clearly visible. Unfortunately, none of the vow photos are suitable for display, which is particularly disappointing given their significance.
The speeches were similarly problematic. Rather than centering the speakers, many photos are dominated by blurred foregrounds of other guests, leaving no clear, display-worthy images from this part of the evening.
We also received fewer than ten photos of just the bride and groom, while a single guest playing the saxophone was photographed extensively. Additionally, although we requested family photos, only one was taken, and it included a bright neon orange bag in the center of the image. This, too, required us to request an edit--something we would expect a professional photographer to notice and address independently.
When we raised these concerns, Madeline did not take accountability and instead attributed the issues to her photographic style and to a lack of communication on our part.
As a result, we will need to re-stage and re-photograph our vows with another professional photographer. Wedding photos should be something a couple looks back on with happiness; unfortunately, this was not our experience.
We would not recommend hiring Madeline. The two-star rating reflects that a small number of the photos did turn out well. read more
